I’ve been living off Brie and chocolate since December began and I’ve put weight on. Currently 9st4lbs and I want to be 8st10lbs.
Anyone with me!?

Going to try calorie counting but open to suggestions. I currently eat far to much crap which is the root of the problem.

Me too Blue - Wetherspoons so at least the calories are on the menu! I usually get chips and pudding and everything, will be rubbish just having a salad or something. But worth it in the end!

I don’t drink though - almost wish I did as I’d find that easy to give up 😂

Yep salad sounds like a plan

I feel accountable to this thread now so can hardly report back tomorrow saying lunch--huge fish and chips, ice cream, half a bottle of wine 😂

WellErrr · 04/01/2020 22:21

No you can’t!! And neither can I! Grin

Did really well today with food
B- skipped
L- was one boiled egg and 1 slice of brown toast
D- Tuna salad

But now currently sat with DH drinking a G&T 🙈.
I also realised today im awful with my water intake.

Patchworksack · 04/01/2020 23:03

Doing ok with my 16:8. Lunch two scrambled eggs, slice of toast, apple. Dinner was a lamb curry that DH made, prob had lots of fat but was delicious, only had a small piece of naan and had a side of veg - the steamfresh packs are really handy for this - replace the usual big dollop of pasta/bread/rice/chips with extra veg. I did have some homemade popcorn with DS this evening but at 100 cals a serving that's ok.

HippoHips · 04/01/2020 23:46

I have avoided snacking at least today which felt like a positive start.
Breakfast: Grapefruit and two boiled eggs
Lunch: Lots of bread, salami and the rest of the Christmas cheese (let myself down there)
Dinner: Small salad (good) more bread (not so good).
Still sticking to my dry January though so I’m hoping that might make up for the extra baguette!

Twixes · 05/01/2020 07:25

Sign me up to the thread!

I'm a total short arse at 5'0 and any extra weight looks terrible on me. If I lost 10lbs I'd be transformed!

My kids are shit sleepers so I tend to eat crap to make me feel better. Today I'm up yet again at 5.45, my 4 year old is killing me! I wouldn't mind but he's so grumpy that it makes it unbearable!

Exercise wise I'm going to be doing three classes a week, mainly spinning. Going to do my best not to eat junk and I'm doing dry January. I can do this!

beela · 05/01/2020 07:46

Hello, can I join in too please?

63.2kg, with a goal of being just under 60kg so I think that's around half a stone to lose.

I'm going to kick start myself with the 1 week healthy eating plan in this month's Good Food magazine, starting tomorrow. Today will be less sugar and more water, in preparation!

Restlessinthenorth · 05/01/2020 07:59

Hi all

Can I join? Hoping this will keep me accountable. Planning to start tomorrow when I'm back to work. Was 9'4 in the summer and felt great. I was 10 just before the Xmas break so probably a little more now 😢. I can really feel the difference and I bloody hate it. So from tomorrow, 3 healthy and nutritious meals. No restricting, nothing faddy, just a lot less crap and alcohol.

I'm going away to the lakes midway through the month for a special weekend so going to keep it in mind that I will definitely feel healthier and happier if I've lost a few pounds by then!

JonesyK · 05/01/2020 09:04

Me too
Weighed this morning at 12.3. Absolutely mortified.
I'm only 5'2 so it's huge for me.
I over eat because I'm bored or stressed mostly.
Going to attempt dry Jan. So far so good

Bluewavescrashing · 05/01/2020 11:58

Well I'm too ill to go out for lunch today so that solves that problem.

Breakfast today--banana, small slice of fruit toast with butter
Lunch- will be couscous and chargrilled veg
Dinner- will be cottage pie with extra veg

TheHoundsofLove · 05/01/2020 12:19

That’s a shame Blue - hope you’re feeling better soon.
It’s taking me a while to get back to normal...I felt really hangry all day yesterday and felt compelled to eat the last 6 Christmas chocolates! The good news is that all our ‘goodies’ are now gone! I think I’ll do much better when my husband and son go back to work and school on Tuesday...

Octopus37 · 05/01/2020 12:22

Not doing too badly, down from 9st11 to 9st9, but weighed myself again a few mins ago and was 9st11 again, I know its better to just weigh first thing in the morning and not at any other time. Had 2 Alpen Light bars for breakfast and 1 Cadburys Hero, quite pleased that I am finding it easyish to stop at 1. Just eaten two pieces of toast with 2 pieces of lerjammer light cheese again. Couldn't wait any longer for lunch today. Feel anxious about being hungry today, don't know of anyone else feels like this, when you feel a bit stressed and wonder how the hell you are going to get to 6 with little or no food. I know its a case of mind over matter but find dieting so hard. Sometimes wish I could just accept being bigger and eat what I want but know this doesn't work for me cause beyond a certain point I hate myself. I very much have a cut off point and for me there was no way I was going to be 10st for my 45th Birthday. Hope everyone else is finding it easier than me today.

WellErrr · 05/01/2020 12:25

Welcome all!!

Hope you’re feeling better soon Blue!

I’ve had a child’s 5 bean chilli in Wetherspoons, 7 of the children’s chips and half a glass of Pepsi. 656 calories for the lot. Banana for breakfast so I’ve got 600ish left.

Had a sneaky weigh in this morning and I’ve lost 3lbs!! Most will be water and bloat but still!!

Finding it a bit easier now I’m a few days in, not missing things as much. Determined to do it this time!

Good luck everyone, keep the strength!

Can I join too? I was very slim before I got pregnant (about 8’7 but worked very hard for it). Post baby I actually got loads of weight off and was about 8’12 but I completely sabotaged myself and have ended up at 9’10. My daughter is now 2! I’m using my fitness pal and aiming for 1200-1500. I’m still breastfeeding, which worries me a bit but I have plenty of fat to burn so I can’t see it being a problem!! Off to the gym soon ... about to have a jacket potato for lunch.

MissingSilence · 05/01/2020 12:37

Oh and I would be happy at 9 stone, but if I can break into the 8s that’s a bonus!

JonesyK · 05/01/2020 12:48

Octopus37.
It doesn't look like you're eating enough proper food so you will be hungry later
You're eating refined foods which aren't satisfying. X

Wineloffa · 05/01/2020 12:51

Great to see so many people around the same height on this thread with similar goals! I would be happy at 9 stone too but if I could break into the 8s for my birthday I’d be thrilled!

So far today I’ve eaten:
B - boiled egg and slice of toast
L - tin mackerel and slice wheaten
D - will be fish pie but I will have a smaller portion

I’ve also done an RPM class (brutal!) and my Yoga with Adriene session. Later on I’ll take the dog out for a long walk. I feel totally accountable to this thread now so determined not to slip up!

Octopus37 · 05/01/2020 13:39

Have looked at what I'm eating and I think you're right. Not going out again today, but tomorrow I'm going to buy some almonds. Have found in the past that having a handful (I count out 10) of almond helps with hunger. Will aim to have some for breakfast. Also will knock the Alpen Light bars on the head once I had finished the ones I have, as they are a bit tasteless. I know some would disagree with this, but I tend to find the Belvita ones better, don't like eggs or anything like that tbh. Planning on Bolognese with chick peas in and pasta for tea tonight. Actually feeling a bit less hangry now.

SallyWD · 05/01/2020 13:41

@octopus37 I'd be starving if I ate those things! They're not nutritional and your body will be desperate for real food. Maybe eat more protein - a big omelette for breakfast fills me up until we'll after lunch (meaning I have a late lunch then it's not long until dinner!)

Bluewavescrashing · 05/01/2020 13:46

Well done WellErr that's a great start!

Good idea to have a kids portion.

I've made extra portions of couscous and veg, plus have defrosted a tub of homemade veg soup, for lunches during the week. Being prepared and all that.

AgsandEls · 05/01/2020 13:54

I had a day of eating quite a lot yesterday, although did loads of exercise (gym class, an hours walk):
2 Pancakes with Greek yoghurt and fruit for breakfast
Snacks: cheese and apple, small coffee, strawberries
Lunch: omelette & a couple of squares of chocolate
Dinner: beef stew, vegetables and one small spoonful of brown rice
Small piece of chocolate cake
Still under 2000 Kcals and actually it seems to have bumped the weight loss along. Lost a pound.
Back on low carb today:
Full fat Greek yogurt and berries for breakfast
Poached eggs, slice of bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes for lunch
Determined to keep going until I have got back to 9st7 this time. Tried a few times last year but kept doing it when I was really busy at work or with kids and had things coming up like birthdays etc that always made me give up.
January is good because I feel more motivated. And looking at photos over Christmas I can really see the extra weight.

WellErrr · 05/01/2020 13:58

Good idea to have a kids portion.

It’s plenty! I didn’t even eat it all!! Usually I’d have the adults portion with a full side of chips, large pepsi and nachos. It’s a revelation this calorie counting, you really don’t need as much as you think!

Really hope I can carry on the same way 🤞🤞🤞🤞

Luckily nobody photographs me 🙂

I'm resisting snacks. It's very hard but I'm doing it.
