I’ve been living off Brie and chocolate since December began and I’ve put weight on. Currently 9st4lbs and I want to be 8st10lbs.
Anyone with me!?

Going to try calorie counting but open to suggestions. I currently eat far to much crap which is the root of the problem.

Welcome @Porpoises

Sounds like a plan!

For batch cooking I make a big mince base with loads and loads of veg (probably about 75% veg - onions, carrots, celery, peppers, tinned tomatoes) and lean minced beef, cook a massive batch (I cook about 2.5kg at a time!) Then freeze in portions. This can then be used for spag bol, or turned into a chili, or as a base for shepherd's pie, lasagne etc. I only have to do this about once every 2 months, it's brilliant

Do come join us on the new thread too, linked above

Could I join you ladies? I really like the supportive nature of this thread.

Was between 62 and 66kg for years, seemed a healthy weight. In the last year i didn't own a scales and ignored tight jeans as I've had trouble with some food intolerance and bloating. When I finally weighed myself at the end of last year I've gone up to 75kg.

Changes made so far:

  • bought a scales
  • cut out the daily croissant habit, it's now once a weekish, and muesli in the office on normal days
  • bought a microwave. The aim is to batch cook a bit so I have a healthy meal at the end of a long commute, rather than a pizza.

Things want to do next:
  • actually start batch cooking (ideas and inspiration gratefully received)
  • try to reduce sugar cravings and choose nutritious options

Not going to calory count or weigh too frequently because I find it makes me obsessive.

Weight aims:
  • stabilise and stop getting heavier (seem to have roughly managed this over the last month), a gradual loss would be a nice bonus.

I have previously lost 12kg but regained 3kg.

I find it hard to lose weight now because I lost it whilst made redundant and exercising like crazy

I cant do that now back at work.

Well done everyone, some consistent calorie deficits and a lot of hard work right there!

@Octopus37 that's a great result and like you I would love to lose faster but can't cut my calories much more. I figure I get better results being consistent over a longer period than trying to smash it and not managing to stick with it.

I watched some great Jordan Syatt videos on 'how to make a calorie deficit suck less' that were quite good. @Myume perhaps the Jordan videos would help you? He is all about sensible sustainable weigh loss without guilt or shame when it goes wrong. Some good messages in there if you are struggling.

Well done @WellErrr @TheHoundsofLove and @Twixes!! Your losses are all fantastic!! I am back to 9st this morning so that 2 pounds birthday weekend gain must have been beer bloat or as Jordan says I ate too much salt or needed the toilet..

That’s a total of 6 pounds lost in January so I’m delighted Smile

Roll on February and our new thread!

Wow well done all re the overall losses! I'm down another 1.5, probably down to dehydration and the ridiculously early dinner! So I'm 9, 9.5 Delighted actually to have a mid week weigh as such.

Predictably pinged back up this morning, 9st 7, so that's a loss of 4.25 pounds in January. TBH I was hoping for more, but don't think I can cut down more on food without going stir crazy. Massive well done to everyone, hope we can all do well in February. WellErr, thanks for starting the thread.

I weighed... If I go by my scales and not how they're weighing me in the gym I'm down 4lbs since 6th January! That puts me back where I was last summer. Another 8lbs to go to meet my super-ideal weight

Roll on February!

@TheHoundsofLove half a stone is amazing!
@WellErrr high five! Thanks for starting this thread, it great to be here Smile

9 stone 7 1/2 this morning so I am a good 5 pounds down since 2 Jan (including some Christmas bloat!) I can see some muscle emerging!! Really pleased with progress so far, looking forward to more hard work and endless vegetables in February to try and shift a few more pounds.
