I’ve been living off Brie and chocolate since December began and I’ve put weight on. Currently 9st4lbs and I want to be 8st10lbs.
Anyone with me!?

Going to try calorie counting but open to suggestions. I currently eat far to much crap which is the root of the problem.

Hello all, please can I join too. I am 40 in 4 months and currently 10st 7, I would love to be 9st by my 40th. I feel like I have been on some form of diet for the last 3 years but all it seems to do is maintain my weight within a few lbs. The second I eat crap or drink too much I put pounds on like nothing else! Infuriating!

Am going to eat a Med style diet but stick within 1300 calories and IF too. Need to cut out red wine for a bit too (even if it is allowed each day on the Med diet). Red wine is my downfall as it leads to evening sugar or cheese snacking!

Love the idea of a Monday weigh in too.

sparklingwater1 · 04/01/2020 00:01

Aw thanks @Farontothemaddingcrowd I'm in the fortunate position that he loves cooking and sees it as a hobby...the dishes he leaves in his path is slightly different but I can deal with them (almost!)

Patchworksack · 04/01/2020 07:30

@hayberry - we sound very similar. It's definitely wine and crisps that are my downfall.

dudsville · 04/01/2020 07:49

Hi folks! May I join? I'm not going to weigh myself. I don't like the number of my usual weight but I like my usual appearance so I try to stay off the scales. I use my clothing as a measure I can see that the holidays have given me a permanent tum and my
"Period" clothes are now my only choice asunde they are tight, and I'm bloated daily.
Bleugh.

So, I had my last holiday pud yesterday, haven't had alcohol since NYE (usually have a bottle or 2 wine a week) and I return to work Monday and have lined up healthy breakfasts and lunches. As a transition phase from feasting to healthy eating I'll use today and tomorrow to start the healthy eating but nothing too harsh, no sweets and no alcohol, but no severe restrictions on calories.

toasterstrudle · 04/01/2020 08:47

Also keen for a Monday weigh in!

Day 2
B - 2 eggs and English muffin (no butter/oil)
L - 4 chicken sausages and broccoli mash
T - vegetable stir fry
Ex - bodypump

Just been for a run and had some eggs and toast. Also tracking my steps, aiming for 10k a day.

TheHoundsofLove · 04/01/2020 08:48

I also like intermittent fasting. I got on really well with 5:2 at first, but then started to find it hard to fit with more exercise. So, I do 16:8 now - no breakfast, pretty much whatever I want for lunch and dinner, no snacking. I've found it pretty easy so far as haven't had to count calories (which I passionately detest!). I've not done too terribly over the Christmas period, but snacking has definitely crept back in, I've eaten too many puddings and I've been having a couple of glasses of wine most nights. I am back on the straight and narrow as of today and am up for a weekly weigh in.
Hayberry I'm also 40 in a few months and want to ideally be at my goal by then!

HippoHips · 04/01/2020 10:14

I finally got round to weighing myself this morning. Am currently 10 stone 6, this time last year I was 9 stone 11 so that’s where I would like to be back to. I’m rubbish at self discipline though so I may have to sellotape my mouth shut to get there!

jelly79 · 04/01/2020 14:10

Day 1 for me, set MFP at 1400 so tracking has started! I'm writing this now because I am so tired (been up since 5am with DS2) and have sorted and cleaned the house all day! I am starving!
DD has gone to get the food shopping for me which has all been planned for batch / meal prep tomorrow.

B - chorizo hash, fried egg, slice of toast
L - (yet to come) tuna subway salad
T - chicken fajitas (no dressings) and salad

I have boxes and boxes of chocolates that I need to get rid of!

WellErrr · 04/01/2020 14:21

I have boxes and boxes of chocolates that I need to get rid of!

So did I!! Just take a deep breath and chuck it all in the wheelie bin!

HippoHips · 04/01/2020 14:39

I took a deep breath and chucked all the leftover mince pies in my tummy. I think that’s where I’m going wrong already Grin

Patchworksack · 04/01/2020 16:06

@hippohips that made me laugh! How about donating the chocolate to local foodbank?

Wineloffa · 04/01/2020 16:44

Thankfully we have little or no Christmas goodies left in our house so no such temptations around here!

Today I have eaten:

B - scrambled eggs and toast
L- one pot low fat hummus and rice cakes, muller light and some blueberries
Snack - apple
D - will be a veggie pasta dish

I also did half an hour yoga with Adrien and walked 6k with the dog.

All good but I’m hungry!!

toasterstrudle · 04/01/2020 18:35

@HippoHips that made me chuckle Grin

B - eggs and a slice of toast. I had 3 eggs in a bid to stave off hunger but I've decided that's too many as felt a bit sick.
L - chicken and salad pita bread
T - chicken sausages (3) and broccoli mash with some ketchup

Ex - walk/run from couch to 5k

I weighed myself this morning and I'm 140lbs, was 145 when I weighed myself on 29th but that was probably christmas bloat. So I reckon my true weight is around 10st. Wanting to get to around 9st4 and then see how I feel. I have a small frame so quite a bit of spare body fat!

Sforsh49 · 04/01/2020 19:38

For years I have done SW and to be fair been pretty successful with it, lost 5 stone 18 years ago and mainly kept it off apart from a stone that comes and goes. I never took to the miller light/mug shot thing so didn't really eat those types of things anyway. I've also dabbled with WW and then Calorie Counting using My Fitness Pal, which is what I'm doing now as with my shifts I just can't get to SW. However it's made me realise how out of control my portions with SW had got, going way back to basics with simple calories in has really helped me.

Bluewavescrashing · 04/01/2020 19:53

Today's food
Breakfast--2 eggs on brown toast, coffee
Snack--blueberry pancake made by DH, tea
Lunch-homemade veg soup
Snack-krispy kreme donut
Dinner-Chinese takeaway ready meal with spring rolls and peas, 1 mini fromage frais

I'm aiming for a better day tomorrow. 😂

Bluewavescrashing · 04/01/2020 19:55

I'm not in the right mindset yet. I've lost weight before but need to get my head sorted out to get back into it.

jelly79 · 04/01/2020 20:08

@Bluewavescrashing haha I love your honesty! I was tempted to go the chippy which is weird for me as we never ever do but I think it's because I know I have stated today! Although some of the Christmas chocolates and biscuits were too much of a temptation

I think I will take a load in to work / foodbank! I do that each year but never all of them ;)

Canklesforankles · 04/01/2020 20:55

Today I did eat some breakfast which I’m planning to skip once back in work
Small potion cereal
Lunch cauliflower soup with chopped pecans and grated cheese
Snack afternoon Satsuma
6 peanuts
1 chocolate champagne truffle (last one) Blush
Veg chilli for tea with very small bit of pasta as I have been struggling with being ravenous in the evenings. Still feeling ok and not hungry tonight so think I can avoid snacking. Phew.

So f I can skip breakfast I think the other stuff should work.

WellErrr · 04/01/2020 21:21

Hi everyone!! I’m doing ok today, on 1200 now. Worried I’m going to get fed up and start snacking. Hopefully I’ll get a positive weigh in on Monday 🤞🤞🤞🤞

Hi, I'm a bit late to the party buy can I join please?
I'm currently at 10.7. I would like to be 9.7. I was really slim in my 20's and 30's around 8-9 stone but since I had my second child and turned 40 it's been really hard to lose weight. I'm now 46 and want to be slim and fit way before I hit 50.
I'm trying to eat healthy food but snacking in the evening is my nemesis. I'm trying to get to bed earlier to see if it helps.
I don't like eggs so I have baked beans on wholemeal bread most mornings as its pretty healthy and fills me up for ages.
I'll join in the Monday morning weigh in if that's ok.Smile

Bobbi73 · 04/01/2020 22:05

Ps.
I found this. Eating beans every day might be better than I thought 🤣

The search engine responded with the claim that a single fart burns approximately 67 calories, and that farting 52 times in one day can burn a whole pound of fat.8 Apr 2019

Bobbi73 · 04/01/2020 22:07

PPS. It's not true

WellErrr · 04/01/2020 22:09

Bobbi 😂😂

I hadn’t thought of beans on toast for breakfast. I used to have cereal but it’s so sugary I’ve stopped that. So I’ve been having a muller fruit corner - they’re half the calories but not much better for sugar!

WellErrr · 04/01/2020 22:09

I also can’t bear eggs!

I've had no snacks this evening and no booze at least.

Going out for lunch tomorrow so I'll try to order something sensible!
