I’ve been living off Brie and chocolate since December began and I’ve put weight on. Currently 9st4lbs and I want to be 8st10lbs.
Anyone with me!?

Going to try calorie counting but open to suggestions. I currently eat far to much crap which is the root of the problem.

Please can I join? I now weigh 11 stone 7, this time last year I was just over 10 stone. It seems to have crept up after some surgery in the summer. Now to do something about it!

HippoHips · 02/01/2020 22:24

Can I join too please? No idea yet how heavy I am as I’m too scared to get on the scales after all the festive gobbling! Judging by the photos from New Year’s Eve I’ve got a few kilos to shift. I’m mid 40s and the flipping pounds just seem to cling to my tummy these days like jumper fluff. I’m going to try and do dry January but I think it’s more the snacking every day I need to cut out. I can’t make the kids even a slice of toast without shovelling down a bit for myself Blush My willpower for weight loss is really poor as up till middle age I was naturally quite slim. Hoping that joining you all will give me the motivation and confidence boost I need. Will weigh in tomorrow morning (hoping I might lose a pound overnight) x

I'd love to join in too please as I'd like to lose 10 pounds as soon as possible. I too was slim a few weeks ago but a sociable month and not much exercise has led to me feeling lumpy and very thick around the middle.

OverByYer · 02/01/2020 22:36

I’m 48 and until 3 years ago I could easily manage my weight but the lat 6 months I’ve gone up and up.
I exercise and eat quite healthily but too much and too much booze

Patchworksack · 02/01/2020 22:38

@hippohips love your name - could equally apply to me!

Bluewavescrashing · 02/01/2020 22:42

I will be your fwend and your twin OP. Same height, current weight and goal weight as you!

My day 1 is tomorrow. Today I've had pizza, ice cream, chocolate, everything in sight.

Eggs for breakfast tomorrow, as protein for breakfast is meant to be a Good Thing.

Cliffordthebigreddog · 02/01/2020 22:42

I’ll be your weight loss friend!! I’m 44 and have always been naturally slim and could eat whatever I wanted but now after 4 kids (youngest just 10 months) I just can’t shift a bit of a tummy!! I’m 10stone 1 and need to get back to 8st 13 (16lbs!!) which was my natural weight throughout my 20’s/30’s. I’m also getting married in 4 months so extra incentive!! I actually joined Slimming World yesterday and have done it all day and it doesn’t feel like I’m on a diet at all - I’m doing the online thing, wouldn’t want to go to a Class, so I’m hoping the weight will come off over next couple of months!

Limaloma1 · 02/01/2020 22:44

Can i join too. I have also never had to worry about my weight until my late thirties. Thats me weighing in at 10st 1lb. Target weight 9st. I just have no idea how what sort of stuff to eat. My love of lurpak, mayo, bread and chips will have to go 😥. Any breakfast, lunch and dinner ideas would be good. I love breakfast so the thought of eating boring porridge fills me with dread!

Farontothemaddingcrowd · 02/01/2020 22:44

Can I join you? Currently 11.3 lbs as of this morning - I used to be 10 stone without trying. I'm 39. Joined weightwatchers for a bit of extra motivation, but finding it hard. Started couch to 10 k today too - I'm really going for this and I'm not going to fail!
@OverByYer too much booze is my downfall too. I love a glass of red wine, so I'm factoring that into my WW points. Life is too short to go without treats completely.

Whoops sorry for the double post... I'm clearly eagerGrin

cheezy · 02/01/2020 22:46

I will also join. Seem to have put on 10lbs in about 5 days Xmas Blush So from 9.10 to 9.0 would be super. I’ve been gorging like a bison and would really like it if it falls off now I’m eating normally again...

cheezy · 02/01/2020 23:08

I’m going to give the fast 800 a try.

jelly79 · 02/01/2020 23:18

Haha gorging like a bison has tickled me!

I'm getting back on my fitness pal so will track on here too to stay on the right path! Hopefully that alongside exercise and increased water intake will get 10lbs off

Slowly slowly catchy monkey

WellErrr · 03/01/2020 07:10

Morning all!!

Feeling sorry for all the other metabolism-change people, but glad to see I’m not alone..! It’s hard when you’ve never had to watch what you eat. I’m really determined to get there though!

Breakfast is a tough one for me as I can’t bear eggs. I used to always have cereal but it’s just so sugary and calorific so I’m trying to stop it. Had a fruit corner yesterday but I suppose that’s not much better (but half the calories).

Oh I’ll be your friend too!
Scales have reached 11 stone for first time ever and I am horrified!
Kids, menopause and DH working from home have all taken their toll.
I’ve joined a local running club and am starting with MyFitnessPal again.
Want to lose a stone!

WellErrr · 03/01/2020 07:33

Woken up feeling hungry today for the first time in ages.

I feel like if I can just do 3-4 days without cheating then I’ll be on my way! Day 2...wish me luck!

Good luck everyone else! I keep telling myself, nothing tastes as good as being slim feels!

Morning guys, if anyone wants a good diet I can recommend Chloe Madeley's 'Fat Loss Blitz' - protein heavy but fills you up on surprisingly low calories!

sparklingwater1 · 03/01/2020 07:45

Me please!

Restarting weight watchers properly on Monday once I do the big shop but trying to get a handle on things. Following blue plan.

5ft 6, full time working mum of 2 boys and 32 years old, stay near Glasgow. Currently 10stone 7....heaviest I've been in 3 years Confused and want to get down to 9.5/9stone so a fair bit to go.

Fattynoms02 · 03/01/2020 07:51

Morning, count me in! I'm at least 10 stone and that was before the eating season.
Only 5'2 so need to get back to 9 stone. Similar to others on here, I'm 38 and after having my daughter, can't seem to get away with eating and drinking like I used to! Honestly don't even know where to start. I guess cutting out chocolate and wine would be a good start.

JeSuisPrest · 03/01/2020 08:05

I'm in on this one. Need to lose 7lb to feel me again. Currently 10st 11lb and 5ft 6", so 10 st 4lb is my aim. Having spent the last 2 weeks wearing elasticated pants, slobbed out in front of the TV, my hand in and out of boxes of chocolates and eating anything wrapped in pastry. I think I need to lose a couple of pounds by Monday just to be able to fit into my work trousers or I'll be using the elastic band around the button trick 😳.

My plan is no snacking in between meals, porridge for breakfast, something proteiny for lunch, and a calorie counted ready meal for dinner with extra veg. Lidl do some very nice ones which can get on board with. Bread needs to go completely but I love it ☹

Sforsh49 · 03/01/2020 10:35

So I started MFP on the 27th. 6lb down this morning after a full week. Pretty much eaten a veggie diet and stuck to around 1000 cals. I won't deny I've been hungry but holiday in 16 days calls for drastic action! Who in their right minds books an all inclusive in January 😂

DivaRainbow · 03/01/2020 10:38

Yesterday I did really well, I stuck to 1000 cals. Im using my fitness app to count and my doing 16:8 intermitting fasting. I also managed to run up and down the stairs for 20mins while my youngest had nap. Does anyone else find fitting excerise in really hard? Im currently on mat leave with 2 DC. Hows everyone feeling today?
