I’ve been living off Brie and chocolate since December began and I’ve put weight on. Currently 9st4lbs and I want to be 8st10lbs.
Anyone with me!?

Going to try calorie counting but open to suggestions. I currently eat far to much crap which is the root of the problem.

February is sugar free February. It crossed my mind to give it a go. What do you all think? Except that I have an event in Feb which is purely an eating sugar event so maybe I could do it except for that one day?!

Well I won’t lie, ‘fuck that’ was my first thought 😂 I need SOME nice food left in my life!!

Oooh I’d love some chocolate pudding right now!
I’m going to go to bed instead!

Very funny! Maybe not then! Grin too much chocolate pudding to eat!

WellErrr · 29/01/2020 22:09

I mean you go ahead by all means, I’ll gladly support from the sidelines Grin

I could be tempted to try sugar free February but only if I can drink wine. Three weeks of dry January was quite enough for me!

Twixes · 29/01/2020 22:28

Don't think I could give up sugar either!

Husband and I just made our overnight oats for tomorrow. Yes I'm a sheep! 🐑

Twixes · 29/01/2020 22:30

Dry January here too, I'm deliberating on whether I should break my winefast on Friday night...it's kind of cheating though isn't it??

Patchworksack · 29/01/2020 22:52

What does 'sugar free' mean? No refined sugar? No fruit? I think I've had much less than normal this month due to cutting out the crap in general but I've eaten lots of fruit, and had puddings a couple of times. Deffo not doing it if wine is out, January has been a long month as it is!

Patchworksack · 29/01/2020 23:01

Just wanted to add that a definite 'win' this month has been that I have just totally stopped buying biscuits/cereal bars for after school and shown the kids to the fruit bowl instead. I was fed up of buying a multi pack of snack bars and the next day they had all vanished, and I would have eaten one after school run just because they were there. Remarkably little whinging after the first couple of days and they eat their dinner better.

toasterstrudle · 29/01/2020 23:31

Oh god no I couldn't give up sugar, although still trying to learn moderation! Well done though!

TheHoundsofLove · 30/01/2020 06:19

I'd be interested in trying to do sugar-free February with you Dont - I more or less did it when I went through a gym-going phase about 15(eeek)years ago and I remember that after a while I totally went off chocolate and cake as it just tasted quite unpleasantly sweet. I would still want to have my red wine at the weekends though...
I want to step things up a gear as counted last night and I have 10 whole weeks until I'm 40! I would be absolutely thrilled if I was at my goal by then and think that it's probably possible if I work really hard and stop the snacking .

Octopus37 · 30/01/2020 07:05

No way could I give up sugar, life is hard enough, surely everything in moderation. Cannot believe we are nearly at the end of January. Another quarter of a pound down for me today. Will probably ping back up soon though. I keep thinking I'm nearly at my goal, when in reality I have 8.5 pounds to go

Heygirlheyboy · 30/01/2020 07:15

I'm refined sugar freedirection now since Jan 1st, I think it's made everything easier as a little would give me cravings. It won't be forever. Heading into month two I'm keeping a few treats in mind - hair colour, new jeans and a bra fitting!! I've saved a ton on chocolate savings I'm sure!

toasterstrudle · 30/01/2020 07:38

Well done @Octopus37! I'm back up a pound and a half today so I'm still about 8 pounds from my goal! Similar to @TheHoundsofLove I've got 9 weeks until my birthday (32) and would love to be either at my goal or close to it by then, I've spent the last 4 years looking so frumpy I'd like to feel comfortable and look good for this one!

everycowandagain · 30/01/2020 08:15

I need to get on this overnight oats thing! I have heard of people adding espresso to their mix, am quite tempted!!

I am flying to NY 5 weeks today, have made good progress since 2 Jan but I need to keep the focus up still! Another 4 pounds would be great but probably tough to achieve because it would get me down to 130lbs which is pretty slim for me, but I will stick with the plan and see what happens. Am currently on 1500 calories a day, I suspect I may need to trim that slightly at some point UGH

Also, feeling like I am in slight vegetable overload at the moment. Getting sick of the sight of broccoli.

Heygirlheyboy · 30/01/2020 08:21

That's great Octopus I think I might weigh in the morning, ahead of a 3 day work away weekend.

Patchworksack · 30/01/2020 09:37

I've just been to Iceland and stocked up on frozen veg, staggered home with a huge bag full. Hope my gut bacteria are appreciating my efforts!

HippoHips · 30/01/2020 09:43

I don’t really like oats Sad. I’m guessing overnight apple crumble isn’t quite as healthy? Wink

Patchworksack · 30/01/2020 10:26

Grin hippo I'm so glad you are back, you make me laugh!

Patchworksack · 30/01/2020 10:27

Ladies we have nearly filled a whole thread! Finish with an end of Jan weigh in tomorrow then start a new one for February?

Twixes · 30/01/2020 10:41

I can't believe we've nearly finished a thread either! Sounds like a plan @Patchworksack

I think I'm a week behind most of you because I started on the 6th but progress is definitely being made! New numbers on the scale this morning and my husband said I have definitely lost weight. Woo!

The overnight oats were scha-mazing. Had a bit with my coffee first thing and finished the rest off there. I feel lovely and full now.

DontFundHate · 30/01/2020 12:44

Oh dear not a very popular suggestion Grin I may try it, except for that one day which has been planned since last year. I hardly drink anyway but I don't see why you can't still have wine. And definitely wouldn't stop eating fruit. For me it would just be cutting out the processed sugary stuff. I've also stopped buying the kids snacks! @Patchworksack my kids weren't bothered either!

Espresso oats sounds very interesting!

In other news... My kitchen scales are out Shock ive suspected for a few days that they seemed to be a bit slow at telling me the weight, turns out it's about 10% out!!!!! So instead of 50g it was showing 40g... Instead of 250g it was showing 210g.... Etc! New batteries have done the trick but no idea how long this has been going on and how I've been diligently weighing out my pasta and cheese etc and pleased with how the portions looked very reasonable! Oops!

Today's menu

B - toast, peanut butter, banana, chia seeds
L - barley risotto (with too much cheese!)
D - spag bol

DontFundHate · 30/01/2020 12:48

Whole thread is amazing too! I've never ever done more than post one thing on these threads before, it's a lovely place to be

Patchworksack · 30/01/2020 14:31

My next thing with the kids is to try plain greek yoghurt with fruit, rather than the processed sugary shite they are used to. Wish me luck!
