I’ve been living off Brie and chocolate since December began and I’ve put weight on. Currently 9st4lbs and I want to be 8st10lbs.
Anyone with me!?

Going to try calorie counting but open to suggestions. I currently eat far to much crap which is the root of the problem.

Well done hippo! Here's to the end of January! Wine

Heygirlheyboy · 29/01/2020 09:00

My overnight oats came to 475 !!! No snacks for me today I use full fat milk and Greek yoghurt plus banana and blueberry with chia seeds.. absolutely delicious and I'll be stuffed until my ratatouille and salad lunch so it'll balance out fine. I think I'll just make on milk and half banana next time. My 4yo took two tablespoon out of it but I left cals as full portion. Have a good day all. I have to finish my presentation tonight ad am appreciating the clearer head without the sugar haze.

WellErrr · 29/01/2020 09:03

Well done hippo!! I’ve found the same with bread, haven’t gone low carb on purpose but when a slice of toast with butter is 150cals I just can’t really afford it!

Wow heygirl that’s a good meaty overnight oats 😂😂 bet it was lovely!
I had half of mine for breakfast and going to pick at the rest through the day for snacks.

Well done @Octopus37 !

@TheHoundsofLove rewatch some of the Jason vids? It'll all be a downwards trend in the end x

@MyuMe sorry to hear that. Did you feel ok on 1200?

DontFundHate · 29/01/2020 09:22

Interesting about halving the overnight oats, I'm always full after mine but never thought of reducing the portion haha! May try that

Today's menu
B - 1 slice toast with 1tsp butter, 1tsb peanut butter, banana, chia seeds
L - wrap! Last one of the week!!
D - spicy prawns, 125g rice, green beans, stem broc, 1tbsp mango chutney

WellErrr · 29/01/2020 12:56

I had my other half mid morning after doing my mystery sport - needed it by then!

The children now want overnight oats for their school snacks so I’ve had to dig out jam jars of identical sizes 😂 DH was admiring them too so I’m making a fridge full nearly!

They are delicious! I layer chopped strawberries on top if I have them! Full to the brim now after lunch. Have a good day guys. Sun.is shining and really feeling the energy boost!

Patchworksack · 29/01/2020 13:49

wellerr goes into mass production! They do sound nice. I might try them at the weekend, move my 8 hours forward a bit and have them for brunch.
I'm going to weigh on Friday to get my monthly total loss, before having an end of dry January/#bollockstobrexit evening of Wine

toasterstrudle · 29/01/2020 14:00

Well done @HippoHips! I'm back to it today after yesterday's 2000 cal day (whoops!)

Usual breakfast but skipped butter today so only 285, salad (no oil), half pita bread and some homemade bean chilli for lunch (370) and probably fish and broccoli for tea. Just in from a 5.5k walk in hideous weather, the baby was not impressed!

Twixes · 29/01/2020 14:05

I'm definitely going to try some overnight oats, they sound delish! Welcome back @HippoHips!

Jordan is a wise man, I'm so glad I watched that video because it's important to be reminded that it's a slow progress and not to give up!

I saw a new number on the scales today, I know it'll probably be up a tiny bit tonight or tomorrow, but there's definitely a very slow downward trend happening. My pattern seems to be something like:

Same, up, same, same, same, down beyond my starting point, up a bit, same, same, same, maybe up, down to a new low, same, same, same etc. Muggle pattern basically! :)

Food for me today is:
Breakfast: Skimmed milk coffee, one weetabix
Snack: banana, satsuma
Lunch: Lidl cous cous - 400 calories apparently!!!
Dinner: Homemade chicken and veg soup

I should be at 1200/1300

I just need to continually remind myself that if I lost 1lb a week for a year there'd be nothing left of me

TheHoundsofLove · 29/01/2020 14:12

I may have to leave the thread as I don’t like overnight oats....too claggy! 😂

Heygirlheyboy · 29/01/2020 14:58

Not if you add enough milk HoundsOfLove! We'd hate to lose you! 😂

WellErrr · 29/01/2020 15:16

Ooh I didn’t add milk! It was a bit dry....should I try some!?

Nooo don’t leave Hounds! 😂

Heygirlheyboy · 29/01/2020 15:33

Oh do, huge difference. Like I say made on milk alone also yum, chia seeds nb for creaminess!

Heygirlheyboy · 29/01/2020 15:39

And despite the mammoth calories at breakfast I have 802 left exactly half my daily, for dinner!!

everycowandagain · 29/01/2020 16:33

I used to eat overnight chia seeds soaked in coconut milk and Greek Yoghurt with a few chopped strawberries. It was a great low carb filling breakfast..... until suddenly one day chia seeds started doing terrible things to me. It's like food poisoning! Maybe I ate them too often...

everycowandagain · 29/01/2020 17:00

@Heygirlheyboy I am a firm believer in a big breakfast, it really helps keep my appetite under control. The less I eat in the morning the more out of control i am in the afternoon. And your breakfast sounded great!

TheHoundsofLove · 29/01/2020 17:54

Breakfast is such a divisive meal isn't it? I never eat it now (haven't for at least a year) - it's my least favourite meal, I find that I'm less hungry all day if I don't eat it and I feel better running without. But, my husband absolutely has to eat breakfast or he has really sudden energy crashes and suddenly feels absolutely starving. It's really interesting how different people are...

Heygirlheyboy · 29/01/2020 18:24

Yummm everycowandagain!! Well I'm about to sit down to a piled high pizza wrap and that's me done, coming in 90 under daily limit. Wohooh! Milk only ONO in fridge for tomorrow!

Heygirlheyboy · 29/01/2020 18:53

Sorry realised I posted wrong amount earlier, I had eaten 800 but didn't have 800 left!!

Wineloffa · 29/01/2020 19:03

Another breakfast fan here! If I skip it I become almost weak with hunger around 11am and end up binging on something bad. I like the Quaker Oats porridge sachets. With the measures milk amount, it comes to 180 calories.

Today I ate:
B - porridge
L- bowl homemade veg soup
D- spag bol with small portion pasta

S- Apple, banana, yogurt

I also did a 4K brisk walk with the dog and an hour of yoga.

The Jordan video is really interesting! I’m definitely in this for the long game but plateaus and gains can be so disheartening. Nice to know they are totally normal and don’t always mean disaster!

WellErrr · 29/01/2020 19:53

If I have a big breakfast it seems to just make me want to start eating more! But I do love overnight oats, so I’m going to persevere and see how I get on. I’ll just have a little bit in the morning though and have the rest for my mid morning snack.

Today was:

B - overnight oats (267cals, eaten throughout the morning)
L - falafel and salad wrap (414cals)
D - slow cooker weighed Spanish chicken (434cals)

S - hot choc and one digestive (171cals), Lidl mini choc bar (71cals), actimel (27cals)

Total - 1384cals

I’d rather be around 1200. I feel like my snacking is creeping up again which is thwarting me - going to have a few days cold turkey on snacks!

OP posts:
Heygirlheyboy · 29/01/2020 20:14

Would you be better eating it all in one go I wonder? Also with the snacks, I think you're amazing being able to have one biscuit and leaving it at that but you could probably more filling and less calorific snacks.. just a thought.

WellErrr · 29/01/2020 20:47

I know!! 71 calories on a digestive is just daft, does nothing for me. There’s none left now anyway so I can’t have anymore!!

On another long shift tomorrow but I’m going to try hard not to snack!

DontFundHate · 29/01/2020 21:04

Oops some more accidental eating, as in I accidentally made some chocolate pudding, per portion just 180kcal... But then I ate two of them... At exactly 1400 today so will move on and forgive!
