Lose in December ...

Yes really, you CAN

This thread is carrying on from the previous threads. This is November’s Thread.

Same as previous threads, I’ve omitted goal specifics of a certain number of lbs because as we’ve seen we are losing at different rates or maintaining. We need to create our own eating plan that is sustainable, enjoyable and provides all the nutrients we need to be healthy. It isn’t about extremes.

These threads are becoming quite holistic in nature and offer support to enable everyone to build & maintain emotional resilience and good mental health which underpins healthy eating habits and a healthy lifestyle.

That said, we mustn’t forget we are human and with that comes fallibility ..... It’s at those times the support on these threads is second to none. The support I’ve seen on these threads (and personally benefitted from 🙏) is awesome. I’ve not once seen any unkind or harsh posts. You’ve all been awesome

With planning and self care we can enjoy ourselves as well as maintain or even lose in December. I think we all agree that the main thing is to enjoy the festivities 🥳 without beating ourselves up if we end up throwing caution to the wind.

In the words of Arnie.. I'll be back (in December!)

HettyPain · 25/11/2019 23:08

Can I please join you? Utterly fed up with yoyoing through this year. I would adore it if my trousers stopped digging in.

BustedDreams · 26/11/2019 08:33

@HettyPain yes of course, we usually get a great group of ladies on these threads.

Hi @Mungomango, nice to see you.

DownUdderer · 29/11/2019 05:58

I’m in for December! If I loose weight in December I’ll be very happy.

DownUdderer · 29/11/2019 05:59

I mean lose!

isitxmasyet · 29/11/2019 06:03

Ooh can I join?
Not huge amount to lose but it would make all the difference
I find evening snacking my hardest habit to break

fallfallfall · 29/11/2019 06:08

Tagging along for December 👍
Thanks for the new thread Busted.

DownUdderer · 29/11/2019 06:10

I need to do this.

BustedDreams · 30/11/2019 10:17

Well come new and previous members 😊

It would be very cool to actually lose a bit as well still partaking in the festivities 🥳

Plan plan plan and moderation and tracking all will help!

Hi, just checking in quickly. Thanks @BustedDreams

Will be aiming to maintain through into the new year and build on healthy habits becoming truly habitual such as an 8 hour eating window, fruit and veg, lots of water, vitamins and medication and yoga.

ConfusedAndStressed95 · 30/11/2019 16:49

Hey all. I'm celebrating the coming month with two housemates and my friend mentioned in the November thread having cheese and wine evening. Looking forward to December and the excitement of Christmas.

fallfallfall · 30/11/2019 18:54

All jumbled but going for bronze and greens. Burgundy reds avoiding candy apple red as much as possible. Dh working on the mantel area for at least 3 more days.

Mungomango · 30/11/2019 19:28

Love your decorations @fallfallfall , very tasteful.

My tree is going up today. I'll post a pic later. The kids always 'help' me which means it tends to get a bit overloaded! This is our first year with our cat so I might have to leave out some of the nicer decorations which I'd worry about breaking. We always play cheesy Christmas songs today and bake mince pies (just one for me though!).

One lb down today and I'm really pleased! I've worked really hard this week, exercising and only munching on carrots/cucumber in the afternoon. My target for December is to get down to 9 st 5 ( which would be a loss of 6lbs).

BustedDreams · 30/11/2019 19:42

@fallfallfall very nice colour theme. Love it!

How the feck is it December. 😱😱

Place mark for tomorrow...:)

K1ngmarbs · 30/11/2019 21:26

I'm in! Smile

MrsJonesAndMe · 30/11/2019 22:25

I've just spent 1 1/2 hours sorting advent calendars Hmm

Happy December to you all!

DownUdderer · 01/12/2019 03:35

My goal for December is to get to a healthy BMI. I’d like to loose a pound a week.

I’ve had a salad today and I’m not sure what I’ll have this evening. Drinking plenty of water.

BustedDreams · 01/12/2019 06:49

Happy 1st December

I agree @Galvantula ... this year has flown and in 31 days it will be 2020 😮

@DownUdderer that sounds a doable goal.

@MrsJonesAndMe have you been busy filling advent calendars or do you mean busy shopping for them? I do have a wooden one I can fill myself but it’s away with the decorations which I haven’t got out yet. We do have a couple of shop bought ones. OH has a Gin one & a Chocolate one and I have a beauty product one.

@K1ngmarbs welcome 😊

@Mungomango well done on your lb loss! All e right direction.

@MrsJonesAndMe you’re welcome. Sounds a doable solid sensible plan.

@ConfusedAndStressed95 its always nice when you’ve stuff to look forward too.

The older members of the group who remember Kim Wilde, we are going to see her singing in a cave later on in December. We don’t go out as much as when younger. In fact Christmas Eve we have always made a point of going out even if just the 2 of us for a meal. This year OH is working in the day (Whilst I prep Christmas dinner) and for the evening we are getting into our new pjs and enjoying a festive picnic in the sitting room (grin)

Yesterday’s roast chicken dinner was sidelined for a fish restaurant. Ate sensible and had cod with salad and half a dozen chips. Having the roast today instead. Probably be OMAD as usual when I do a roast.

Have a great day! Let the festivities begin 🥳

Yes, I was filling little cardboard boxes. The string to tie them up was really fiddly, so ended up threading them onto my (big) needle to get them done. It also involved cutting out bits of paper with activities. I am such an idiot - should have just bought the cheap chocolate window ones Wink

Then as soon as I laid my head down, DS puked - the wall, the bedding, the child... I guess you can all imagine it. Envy Going to be a very long day with very little sleep.

Good luck to you all for December.

fallfallfall · 01/12/2019 16:59

So so disappointed to wake to a high high weight! Highest in a long while. Dh reassures me it’s the exercise I’m not so sure.
I’d gladly deal with vomit over the scale
Track open all day, might do swim and walk...
Dh making progress on the fireplace/mantle work, so no decor yet.

BustedDreams · 01/12/2019 19:10

Oh my @MrsJonesAndMe what a start to the day. I hope it got better!

@fallfallfall it’s awful when the scale goes up unexpectedly. I had the past couple of weeks. I’m sure mine was med related. Your dh might be right in that exercise can increase glycogen stores in muscles as part of the repair phase. Are you taking measurements with a tape measure? That might be more positive.

OH opened his 1st on his Gin advent calendar, duly mixed it with a tonic and is now zzzzzz on the sofa Grin
