Thanks WWB. We're about to have pizza tonight. No excuse, just laziness. Will go for another lumber tomorrow (though it's not exactly doing any good on the weight loss front yet, is it).

You have to give lumbering a bit more time to have an effect, I think. And muscle does weigh more than fat, remember, so maybe you've just gained loads of muscle really quickly

Ah yes, perhaps that's it - I'm now a lump of pure muscle. The pizza was yummy.

Damn scrabble indeed! Doesn't help that I don't really know the rules - what are the values of all the coloured squares?

Lumbering has been achieved. The best bit is definitely the walk back afterwards.

deep colours are 3x value, light colours 2x value, Red = word blue = letter.

Thanks Mrs JC I'm a bit partial to it myself but it was taken by a professional so it should be OK (though te picture was much bigger and gave a lovley view of my front door and windows showing they need a clean so I chopped them off!)

There are so many gorgeous photos of people's dss atm - Kewcumber, Mrs JC, and LTH's too. I want one. A little baby one. All squishy and smiley. Not a teething one though

Hmmmm. Not sure about a baby one! I'm actually enjoying not having to constantly care for a little one, its nice to have an older child that you can chat and giggle with!

My DD is growing up fast and I'm enjoying our girly chats! Apparently (according to her) we're really bonding now!!!!

Mind you baby LO's are gorgeous too, but thats where being a Grandma comes into its own! You can do all the cuddling and bathing and rocking and soothing and even nappy changing if you want BUT you don't have to get up in the middle of the night or deal with teething grizzles or temper tantrums or any other noxious behaviour....you can just smile sweetly and hand 'em back to mum or dad!!!!

I wouldn't count on that Tigerfeet! I'm notoriously bad at scrabble, even my 9 year old can beat me!

I've only just managed to stop myself going off in a strop when I lose too and I still daren't play monopoly with anyone! [hangs head in shame emoticon]

I'm Ok with physical sports, like Tennis etc. mainly because I know I'm crap at them and I'm sooooooo bad it's funny! But board games I turn into Godzilla if I'm losing . It's very embarrassing for a normally rational, sensible being such as myself

Its quite difficult to teash LO's to be good losers when your throwing a tantrum in the corner yourself I find

being contentious - I think its just as (if not more) important to teach children to be graceful winners. far too many adults IMO have not learnt the skill of being gracious in victory.

And I have learned to lose graciously, honest! I'm just not very good at it when it comes to Monopoly

I can lose at ludo and snakes and ladders and pictionery and trivial pursuit(Disney version)with great aplomb and gracious to the extreme!

On reflection, I suspect that watching mum lose her cool because she's just landed on Mayfair and had to mortgage all her property to pay the rent helped my LO's to see that being a bad loser has nothing to reccomend it!

Its why I avoid Monopoly at all costs if i can (though the children's version set in a funfair doesn't seem to have the same affect on me!)

It is the thing about me I'm least proud of [hangs head in shame and hides under rock emoticon]

Can't stand Monopoly.

Scrabble, on the other hand, I love. Dh is crap at it so not much of a challenge, and although dd likes it, the junior version doesn't quite do it for me!

The Facebook version is horribly addictive though ...
