New thread

it was the journalists idea to include the blog detials - she also said that she was sorry she couldn;t do the story justice so suggested including my blog detials as well.

WigWamBam · 01/09/2007 19:50

Nope, there's nothing about it which screams "big fat weirdo" to me at all! You come across as very confident and assured.

WWB DH here
Thought the "Prima" piece was very good. It came over clearly that you had selected the country not because it gave you an easy method of adoption but because you felt their methods were more biased towards ensuring a fair match for the child. A well reported section (unusual for this type of magazine!)

thank you so much WWB DH. It is such a public thing to do (expose your life in the national press) that I'm bound to have the collywobbles a little.

Safe to tell my ageing granmother down in Wales then...

WigWamBam · 01/09/2007 20:11

It would be strange if you didn't have the collywobbles, to be honest.

Quite safe to show to aged grandparents and maiden aunts, I'd say! You do come across very well.

Just bought it. Lovely article (and useful that it came with free sweets - ideal for eating while I read the article). Brought a(nother)tear to my eye. All three are lovely stories. Well done you, Kewcumber.

WigWamBam · 03/09/2007 18:24

Sweets? Sweets? Mine came with a bloody mascara [sulk]

Weights for 23/8

Agalch -1 (total 32.5)
JackieNo +1.5 (total +3)
LMS stayed the same (total 2.5)
MrsJC -1lb (total 16)
Tigerfeet +4 (total +4)

Weights for 30/8

JackieNo -.5 (total +1.5)
LMS -2.5 (total 5)
MrsJC -1 (total 17)

Sorry, Tigerfeet ... I missed your message about doing the weights last week. Crappy McCrapp of Crappville award to yours truly ...

Back up to date now, so ready to go again with a new thread (new brains would be nice too) this week.

OP posts:
JackieNo · 03/09/2007 20:30

Well mine had a mascara (which said 'our gift to you this Christmas') and a hippo thingy filled with nutty stuff, made by the same people who make kinder eggs, I think. Was yummy.

WigWamBam · 03/09/2007 21:57

I only got the mascara.

Mind you, I'd only have been beaten to the sweets by dd anyway ...

OP posts:
JackieNo · 03/09/2007 22:47

I can't do mascara, so will take it in to work tomorrow and see if anyone wants it. First day back at work today, and it was quite an effort, getting up at a sensible time. And I really wanted an early-ish night, but now there's a huge spider under our bed (which is a divan, so can't be moved), and I'm nervous about going. I'm such a wuss. Tried to blat it, but it got away.

Kewcumber · 04/09/2007 13:42

hippo thing was delish wasn't it - I had Hippo and mascara (x2). Anyone want two tubes of mascara?

Am still on food holiday - not looking forward to weighing on Thursday but must or I will go into a downward spiral again.

WigWamBam · 04/09/2007 14:09

I feel very much hippo-deprived now.

I can't use mascara either so mine is destined for the bin. Dd is eyeing it up but there's no way she's having mascara on, even for playing. She'd end up taking her eye out (or someone else's eye, more like!).

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 04/09/2007 14:10

you wouldn;t have liked them WWb.

Honest.

They tasted like, ummm, uncooked cheese...

WigWamBam · 04/09/2007 14:12

I have just sprayed soup all over the screen

Somehow I don't quite believe you though

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 04/09/2007 14:16

honest they do, don't they Jackie?

They're a bit like cheesy balls but hippo shaped.

TigerFeet · 04/09/2007 14:21

@ cheese flavoured hippos

they're horrible WWB, honestly (well dd didn't like the one I bought her a while ago, such a shame )

Haven't got Prima yet, dh away tonight so I will get it on the way home and read it in peace tonight.

WigWamBam · 04/09/2007 14:24

Cheesy balls my ar$e!

I think I will have to buy one on the way back from picking dd up this afternoon, so that I don't feel left out

OP posts:
littlemisssensible · 04/09/2007 14:44

I wanna know why I didn't get the mascara especially as I subscribe!

Not that I's want a mascara ordinarily BUT......

ITS NOT FAIR [throws self on floor in tantrum emoticon]

JackieNo · 04/09/2007 15:43

Yes - definitely cheesy hippos, with an undercurrent of raw steak. Weird about the randomness of the free gifts. Gave my mascara to someone at work. It was an unbranded one (said 'made in China' on the back of the blister pack, and was obviously a leftover from some other promotion, because of the mention of Christmas).

I'm being useless with food atm too (bar of dark chocolate with bits of amaretti biscuit in, anyone?).

WigWamBam · 04/09/2007 18:05

The mention of Christmas would sound weird, if I hadn't walked past a display of Christmas cards in Borders on Saturday ... Maybe they're thinking that as it's the October edition it's not that far away? [clutching at straws]

(LMS, you can have my mascara if you really want it!)

OP posts:
littlemisssensible · 05/09/2007 10:46

Thanks WWB! But I can live without cheap mascara!!!!{grin]

With regard to Christmas, I've had my Studio Christmas Card catalogue since June . I've no idea why they think its necessary to send it out so early but I do know that if I havn't ordered by the end of Sept. its all gonna be out of stock!

JackieNo · 06/09/2007 18:49

Bit quiet on here, isn't it. Are we all off eating cheesy hippos?

I've stayed the same.

WigWamBam · 07/09/2007 12:02

I can assure you that I am most definitely not off eating cheesy hippos!

Hotmail has been playing up, but I'll check the emails and list the weights as soon as I can.

OP posts:
TigerFeet · 07/09/2007 12:30
