Yes Tigerfeet did have quite a long journey didn't she!

I'll tell DH to go off to Waitrose tomorrow for some more dip, he's already planning some pittas and hummous for tomorrow night!

JackieNo · 17/08/2007 23:15

This is the dip, I think.

TigerFeet · 18/08/2007 08:26

Morning all

JackieNo, thank you so much, we had a lovely day and it was great to meet you all. Glad to hear the tidying up didn't take too long.

Got home about 8 o'clock so not too bad really given the traffic on the M40, dd stayed awake all the way home so I have got somewhat sick of singing "The Wheels on the Bus"

That's the dip, yes.

Poor dd WWB

JackieNo · 18/08/2007 09:43

TigerFeet - poor you, that's still a long journey - thank you so much for coming all that way to meet up with us - it was great to meet you and your gorgeous DD. But 3 hours of 'The wheels on the bus' sounds very wearing. You're a better woman than me, I think I'd have given up after about 20 minutes.

MrsJohnCusack · 18/08/2007 10:07

well it sounds like you all had a marvellous time WITHOUT ME

. Glad it was a success. Next meet up at mine maybe? Come in a couple of months in the summer, it's only 20 mins to the beach.

WigWamBam · 18/08/2007 11:35

I could be sorely tempted, MrsJC!

Three hours of The Wheels on the Bus? Someone give the girl a medal!

Dd's back on ABs again Still, there wasn't too much of a wait to see the GP, and they usually start to kick in pretty quickly.

OP posts:
JackieNo · 18/08/2007 11:43

MrsJC - sounds lovely. Am very that you're close to the beach - I really miss it, having grown up 10 minutes' walk from 3 lovely beaches.

WWB - glad the wait wasn't too bad, hope the ABs have the desired effect v soon.

littlemisssensible · 18/08/2007 12:47

WWB,

Sorry to hear about DD. I hope the ABs kick in soon for her

Tigerfeet you're a hero for travelling all that way AND singing Wheels on the Bus!!!!

WigWamBam · 20/08/2007 11:58

Girls, I'm really sorry ... I completely forgot I hadn't posted the weights on Friday afternoon I'll post them now, maybe we should stay on this thread for the next couple of days and I promise I will get my act together this week.

Dunce of the Week, I think

Not that there are many weights to list ...

Agalch: +.5 (total 31.5)
JackieNo: -1lb (total +.5)
LMS +2.5lb (total -2.5)
WWB: -1lb (total -7lb)

Doughnuts and liberal amounts of backside-kicking in order, I think ...

OP posts:
TigerFeet · 20/08/2007 12:03

Oooops, forgot to post weight, I managed to shed off a lb so am now 15st 13. I rather suspect that has gone back on (and more) after a lovely lunch last Friday and lots and lots of wine and a BBQ yesterday

How is dd, WWB?

JackieNo · 20/08/2007 12:05

Mmmm - doughnuts. I did go out for a lumber yesterday, but haven't exactly been watching what I eat, it has to be said.

WigWamBam · 20/08/2007 12:53

Dd is fine now, thanks. She seems to respond much better to the Trimethroprim they've given her the last couple of times than she ever did to Amoxycillin.

I can't eat doughnuts today. Actually I can't eat much at all ... broken tooth as an aid to weight-loss The side of one of my big molars crumbled away a couple of months ago and the dentist built it up for me, but it broke off at the weekend, and this morning the (rather large ) filling which made up most of the tooth came out as well. I have a temporary dressing at the moment but it's still difficult to eat ... no excuse not to lose any weight this week!

OP posts:
JackieNo · 20/08/2007 13:07

Hot chocolate.... And soup, I guess. Poor you. I loathe the dentist.

TigerFeet · 20/08/2007 13:13

Oh me too... I have been twice in the last 15 years

WigWamBam · 20/08/2007 13:21

I also loathe the dentist. Haven't slept for two nights because I was so worried about going - and I'm still getting cold sweats at the thought of going back for more treatment. I have to have an x-ray tomorrow, and he will decide from that whether to crown it or extract it. Heaven knows how he will extract it, there's bugger all left to grab hold of.

Oh joy, oh rapture ...

OP posts:
JackieNo · 20/08/2007 13:22

and , and for you, WWB.

WigWamBam · 20/08/2007 13:33

I'm just such a big jessie! I get anxious to the point where, if I were to stand up, I would pass out And I get worse rather than better, as I get older.

Dd was picking up on it this morning, and I'm ashamed of myself for it because I always swore she would never see how frightened I was.

When I see him tomorrow I think I'm going to have to ask for some Valium to take before I have the rest of the treatment done.

OP posts:
JackieNo · 20/08/2007 13:34

Sounds like a good idea, WWB. DH is the same - he hasn't been to the dentist since he left school, as far as I know.

WigWamBam · 20/08/2007 13:43

Crikey - that's a long time. I didn't go for about 14 years after I left school until I had such awful toothache I had to go, but I've been pretty regularly since then. And the older I get, the more work I seem to need done [tremble]

Must be horrible to be a dentist; dentistry must be one of the most hated professions there is!

OP posts:
JackieNo · 20/08/2007 13:46

A bit like me, WWB - I didn't go after university for ages, then I got an abscess, so was in so much pain I resolved to start going again.

Dentist, traffic warden...

WigWamBam · 20/08/2007 13:50

Whatever makes a perfectly sane human being decide that what they want to do most of all in the world is stare into people's badly-looked-after mouths, drill holes in their teeth, and have people fall to pieces at the sight of them?

OP posts:
littlemisssensible · 21/08/2007 14:25

Sorry to hear about your tooth WWB. It's horrible having tooth ache isn't it!

I've resently had my temporary bridge fitted (back in July) and I really can't get used to it! The proper one goes in in September, once the gum has had a change to heal properly, and I'm hoping that will feel more like the original tooth! I'm not expecting miricles though My really, really lovely Aussie dentist retired and I'm not as keen on the new guy.....not as confident in his abilities really

littlemisssensible · 21/08/2007 17:09

Hi Guys,

Finally remembered to bring the laptop home so I could post the Muffin Recipe!

Cocoa Courgette Muffins

Makes 11-12 standard muffins

280g plain flour
10ml baking powder
2.5ml bicarbonate of soda
2.5ml salt
10ml ground cinnamon
45ml unsweetened cocoa powder
1 egg
110-140g light brown soft sugar
60-90ml milk or water
10ml vanilla essence
340g finely grated courgette (leave peel on unless you want to avoid green flecks!)
90ml vegtable oil or 85g melted butter
85g raisins or sultanas (optional)

Heat oven to 375-400F, 190-200C or Gas 5-6.
Sift together flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda, salt, cinnamon and cocoa powder.
In a seperate bowl beat egg then add sugar, milk/water, vanilla, courgette and melted butter/oil and stir well.
Pour wet mixture into dry and stir until combined, adding dried fruits in final strokes. Batter will be lumpy but no flour should be visible.
Spoon into muffin cases and bake for 20-25 mins until tops spring back.

Enjoy!!!!

TigerFeet · 21/08/2007 17:11

Oooh thanks LMS

They really were yummy muffins

littlemisssensible · 22/08/2007 10:26

Thanks tigerfeet!

I tried them on DD in the hope I could sneak some extra veg into her diet, but she decided she didn't like them . Might try them again without the cinnamon and a little more vanilla and see if I can fool her!
