Anyone care to join me?

I'm getting organised today and Day 1 is tomorrow, small steps lead to big things :o

I would really like to join you all starting on Wednesday. I'm planning on -

  1. Giving up sugar

Eating eggs for breakfast
Soup for lunch
Normal Supper

whattodo2019 · 02/09/2019 22:05

I lost nearly 3 stone in 2015 by simply giving up sugar. Weirdly I found it easy...I convinced myself I could eat or drink anything I wanted as long as it didn't have sugar in the ingredients.

I did eat naturally occurring sugars in fruit and veg

Leftielefterson · 02/09/2019 23:10

B - coffee
L - coffee shop chicken soup (low cal)
D - Chicken stir fry
Snacks - satsuma and grapes

gigi556 · 03/09/2019 06:22

Ok. So I lost 0.6lbs... Doesn't feel like a lot but I guess if I plug away I'll hit my goal in about 9 months! 😭

Really need to turn my mindset around as it probably took me that long at least to the gain weight.

stoneysongs · 03/09/2019 06:57

It's still a win Gigi! 💪👏

gigi556 · 03/09/2019 07:30

@singingstones it's just a bit depressing that it's going to take me 6-12 months to lose 10lbs... but I guess it took me a year or more to gain. It's going to be a long haul!

stoneysongs · 03/09/2019 07:44

I know what you mean Gigi and it is annoying when you don't get the results you were expecting (the reason I am trying but so far failing to stay off the scales). Done now though and you can only decide what happens next

Livpool · 03/09/2019 08:03

I will join - I need to lose about 5 stone. I used to be really fit and healthy but last few years I have gone awful.

Started gym yesterday and cutting out alcohol this month - it is my downfall.

We can do this!!!

stoneysongs · 03/09/2019 08:13

💪 livpool

gigi556 · 03/09/2019 08:21

@singingstones Yes, and I haven't actively tried to lose weight in 6-7 years so now I'm 36 I guess it doesn't drop off as quickly! 😬 It's been a very gradual gain with just slowly becoming a bit less active and then gaining weight post baby through lack of sleep and not eating great and again less exercise. I've always had to exercise a lot to maintain my weight since I'm only 4'10".

Out and about with work today so:
B croissant / banana / coffee
L M+S sandwich / crisps / melon
D chilli / wrap
Plus various snacks of pack of nuts, dark choc, apple
No cycling but 10000 steps so not too bad. Been a long day. Aiming for a bit of cycling tomorrow plus 24 hr fast to tomorrow dinner.

Fivechatchacha · 03/09/2019 21:15

No exercise today :(
B: bowl of shreddies, cup of tea
L: homemade veg soup, 2 slice brown bread, some popcorn, satsuma, cup of coffee
S: a few olives, soreen bar
D: slimming world chips, breaded fish, peas, small slice lemon cheesecake.

Not great overall and doing my weekly weigh tomorrow so not too hopeful...

Leftielefterson · 03/09/2019 22:53

Went for a long swim at my Lido today.

B - coffee
L - poached eggs, grilled tomato and grilled mushroom
D - courgetti spaghetti carbonara (yep, it was as foul as it sounds)
S - wasted most of my dinner so sulked with a foxes chunkie cookie

Livpool · 04/09/2019 09:33

No exercise yesterday but I kept to 1350 calories

Isthebigwomanhere · 04/09/2019 18:36

Managed to Keep at roughly 1200 calories and get at least 10 k steps in so far

gigi556 · 04/09/2019 18:38

How are you managing to keep the calories so low? Are you hungry??!! I really struggle keeping it under 1500

Isthebigwomanhere · 04/09/2019 19:04

Honestly it's because work has been so busy I've no time to eat lunch.
I've had a banana for breakfast and taken a box of prepared snacks( grapes, strawberries, ryvita and things)
Then had a good 700 calories evening meal.

gigi556 · 04/09/2019 19:32

Oh haha. I work from home so can go to the kitchen at the first rumble of my tummy 😂😂

Fivechatchacha · 04/09/2019 21:15

S- cup of coffee 5 Ritz type crackers
D- 2 slice brown bread, beans, sprinkle of cheese, teeny slice of cheesecake. Water and Cup of tea

Livpool · 04/09/2019 21:46

@Fivechatchacha - well done!!!

@gigi556 - I had 4 cream crackers for breakfast and my treat for the day was malt loaf! X

gigi556 · 05/09/2019 10:10

@Livpool love malt loaf!

So I've caught some kind of virus. Was very feverish in the night and have a terrible heavy head. The good thing about sweating at night is that I felt rather slim this morning and weighed in 3lbs lighter than Monday 😂😂. I'm sure it's all water but made me feel a little better that progress is being made!

stoneysongs · 05/09/2019 11:06

Went 'slightly' (horrifically) off plan yesterday when someone brought a box of celebrations in to work Confused
I had resisted on Monday but really went for it yesterday and ate about 10 Blush. I did do 10K steps though and back in the game today! Really want to have lost when I weigh on Sunday, even if just a half pound or something. On the plus side, new treadmill has just arrived so hope to have that operational tonight.

StarsOutShining · 05/09/2019 20:24

Back from a few days break and being in sunshine and quiet and feel good. It makes such a difference being outside...

gigi when I start a new health thing, I often get ill! Its very annoying. My theory is that the reduction in calories that I'm usually doing upsets my status quo and my immune system (not the best to start with) doesn't cope well.

Lots of dietary books etc recommend starting "tough" - but I always question experts (oh yes!) and this is one reason why - at least given what often happens to me anyway. I think the body usually needs building up to "healthier" living .... I rarely lose weight at the beginning of the diet; its all a bit dark; my body has to wait a few weeks to get into a happy singing 'let go' vibe Smile.

That said, gigi hope you get better soon. I had a surprise summer cold, 2 or 3 weeks in, and I've come out the other side.

Today:

B. 2 slices of marmalade on toast
D. M&S dover sole in breadcrumbs with lemon juice, home made salad, wine ... (obviously from this post!) ... I'm thinking what else now ...

Everybody seems to be doing well, doing their own plan. Hope Squints OK, as she's not been back, I hope she's alright.
