Don't want to do it alone

I will join you. I need to lose at least 2 stone AGAIN

I have started today anyway

libb · 20/09/2004 14:14

I will have a crack at it too - I would like to lose 2 stone ideally. How are we doing it? just careful eating or WW/Slimming World?

fio2 · 20/09/2004 14:15

I am careful eating. i joined weightwatchers last week and got a free pasta cookbook but have decidied not to go again as it makes me unhealthy about eating iykwim, so i am doing it myself!

Forestfly · 20/09/2004 14:18

No idea, hoping someone else would be in charge, i have joined a gym this morning and signed for five days a week. Just have to decide what to have for dinner i suppose. Are we going to say how much we have lost in a week? 2 stone would be better for me, christmas dress can be the reward.
Feel like a complete heffer i jumped on the scales when the school nurse wasn't looking.

I went out and Slimming World magazine today to see it will make me feel motivated when reading how losing 2 stone made normal women into Goddesses.

I guess reporting in each week would be the best way, I know I am going to useless at this so I am going to draw me a chart!

Forestfly · 20/09/2004 14:31

Well ok libb, i will go out and by the same mag and see if we can come up with anything together, what do you think? I'm one of those people who need to be told what to eat and then i can just do it. Quite fancy the thought of being a goddess for christmas too

Dingle · 20/09/2004 14:34

Can I still join in please?

Not really that fussed how much weight I loose, probably aiming for 7lb to 1stone perhaps, but would really like the motivation of some exercising. Feeling like death warmed up at the mo. have been running around after everyone else and have very little energy left at the end of the day. So my treadmill is sitting in the conservatory collecting dust
DH wants to lose weight so if we could eat healthier that would be a great plus, just don't really know where to start!HELP!

Dingle · 20/09/2004 14:36

Oh dear, perhaps not, posts crossed. Don't think I could ever class myself as a goddess!

fio2 · 20/09/2004 14:36

I am just having a minestrone slimming cup of soup with croutons, it feels like a treat and is only 1 ww point

libb · 20/09/2004 14:38

Okay, let us get this straight . . . we are all Goddesses already, we just want to be slinkier ones right? So Christmas our goal? sounds good to me, I was preggars last Christmas and this year I fully intend to glam it up!

I think I am just going to try and eat carefully rather than join a slimming club - I did WW a while ago and it did work but I can't really afford the weekly fee.

Forestfly · 20/09/2004 14:39

Dingle of course, we haven't got a plan yet though, i suppose just a check in if you are being good or bad. We need someone to take us into hand. Everyone has a bit of goddess in them.
Fio do you work for that soup company?

OP posts:
Forestfly · 20/09/2004 14:41

No and i hate the thought of sitting in a room with a group of women discussing fat free eccles cakes. So ww not for me.

OP posts:
fio2 · 20/09/2004 14:44

I wish FF! i could do with the money

WW is not that bad, but the old dears always argue with you

One last week said, 'I dont like making the no point ww soup because i always waste loads'

so i said 'why dont you make half the recipe'

and she said ' I cant stick to recipes and I dont like soup'

Me in head 'oh shut up you silly woman!'

Dingle · 20/09/2004 14:46

In the past I made a chart up,weighed & measured myself ( that was really depressing, my thigh measurement was what my waist used to be..he..he..hee.)because I want to concentrate on toning my tum, bum, thighs rather than loosing weight. Didn't have much sucess- didn't stick with it long enough.

Forestfly · 20/09/2004 14:48

You've made me think of making a huge pan of soup and eating that for a few days just to shock my body and get it started. I have to go tomorrow and get my gym badoodle, forgotten the name, you knw when they show you. Really dreading it as i feel so unfit.
Lol fio @ elderly ladies

Can I just stick my head in!!!

I've been doing ww for a while now and in total I've lost 23Ibs and am 5Ibs away from my gold member weight. I would like to loose another stone after this but I'm just focusing on the gold weight at the mo.

I'd just like to say I am living proff that IT IS POSSIBLE if you put in a little hard work and alot of will power.

I hope your all feeling as fantastic at christmas as I feel now and I'll pop in every now and again to spur you on - unless of course i start getting fat again and then I'll be joining you

GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!!!!!!!

libb · 20/09/2004 14:51

I never ever stayed for the meetings, just jumped on the scales, had it noted on my sheet and ran like buggery. Dieting is tedious enough without analysing what I ate! One girl I recall had lost 7lb in one week, she'd had nothing but carrot soup the whole time.

I will try and jolly us along each week if you like but I am not sure how to go about it?

fio2 · 20/09/2004 14:51

I lost 27 lbs last time and have put most of ity back on, I am a failure

Forestfly · 20/09/2004 14:52

oh thanks sweetheart (must not finish kids dinners)

Fizog · 20/09/2004 14:53

I have 1.5st to lose to, I've joined slimming threads before and rapidly give up but I'm determined this time... Please force me to stick to this - I am weak!!!

If I drop out bombard me with email and threats, please don't let me quit again. 11stone currently want to be 9.5!

Dingle · 20/09/2004 14:54

Well, I'm off now. Will jog over to the school!!
Well-walk quickly perhaps. Wanted a pedometer but haven't even had time to get that.
Will check in later to see what's happening.

KateandtheGirls · 20/09/2004 14:56

I have also started trying to lose weight today (I've been trying informally for a long time but haven't got anywhere), so I'd like to be part of this group. In fact, here's a thread I started yesterday.

Fizog · 20/09/2004 14:58

Will someone take on the responsibility of keeping me in line??

fio2 · 20/09/2004 14:59

I will do Fizog!

what do you want me to say, stop eating, stop boozing and plenty of exercise please madam!
