Anyone up for losing a stone?

I am bursting out of all of my clothes, I have decided to lose the offending stone.

Just weighed myself and I'm 10'8.

I could probably do with losing 1.5 stones but I'm setting a goal of one stone which will get me back into my clothes.

Fancy joining me?

I'm definitely up for it.....perimenopausal also... piling on weight around my waist... never been this heavy before... apart from when I was pregnant..

KooMoo · 26/05/2019 09:28

I’m in Grin I’d love to lose a stone.

I joined the Low Carb Boot Camp Thread a couple of weeks ago.

I started at 147.
Last week 146.
Stupid busy week this week and forgot to weigh. Although I don’t feel I’ve lost much, I’m feeling better generally. Not as lethargic.

I’ll weigh in tomorrow and post (along with other thread)

maglincey74 · 26/05/2019 09:35

Yes ladies I'm up for it, need to lose a stone at least. I've stopped smoking and gained weight, feel crap🤪

teneight · 26/05/2019 09:36

Ok I'm back in the land of living, kind of Grin

Stupidly I decided to weigh myself so that I could see the damage, and I can confirm that last nights antics has made me half a pound heavier than when I started on Friday. Oh god I'm going to be the class joke! I will try harder.

It's my birthday tomorrow and we are having a family BBQ but I will show some kind of control.

Today I will be sorting the garden, hopefully the fresh air will help.

Welcome to the newbies, happy to have you.

Thanks. I'm 11st 8, my target is 10st but happy to take 7lbs at a time. My downfall is chocolate 🤫🤫

teneight · 26/05/2019 09:48

@maglincey74 chocolate is my downfall too. I eat it every day in vast quantities, although I haven't had any since Friday when I started.

I can consume shocking amounts of the stuff and never feel sick. I'm not overly bothered about savoury snacks, it's just me and my chocolate. I would never consider sharing it, not even with my kids.

froggers1 · 26/05/2019 10:09

I'm in please. Always start in Monday. I need to lose a stone or 2. I'm definitely premenopausal. All round my middle.. are we weighing in on Monday am?

bubbaba · 26/05/2019 10:16

I'd like to join please? What's everyone following for a diet?
I'm BF and baby is 9m so need something BF friendly!

Iamsodoingthis · 26/05/2019 10:17

Can I join too. I'm another perimenepausal one here, so difficult to lose weight now. I'm 11st5, a stone off would be great and 1 and a half off would be even better. Will use mfp to log Smile

teneight · 26/05/2019 10:53

Another peri menopausal one here too. Depressing isn't it.

Hello newcomers 👋

Hi teneight, yeah it's horrible. Feel like I don't know my body anymore. Period arrives whenever it wants, so unpredictable Confused
Used to be able to lose weight easily before perimenopause, now I get fed up and stop trying because I don't see the results I want fast enough!! And I still feel 27 in my head, how am I nearly 50 Grin

rsim87 · 26/05/2019 11:38

Am up for this, need to lose quite a bit of weight.
Anyone up for joing a whats app group to motivate each other x

froggers1 · 26/05/2019 11:48

A WhatsApp group sounds good..

dudsville · 26/05/2019 11:50

I too would be interested to know what everyone's doing to lose way food-wise.

I'm hoping that being on a thread and doing a weekly weigh in will increase my awareness. Mindfulness in this way helped me last Christmas.

I will really struggle to diet as I quite like my eating habits. I prefer home cooked food, rarely eat out or takeaways (and takeaway for me is usually tandoori chicken and chili or garlic naan). I like veg and eat plenty of that. I like rice so that limits my pasta intake. I have a slice of bread or two at the weekends at most, not every weekend. My protein tends to be salmon, which I have nearly if not actually daily. My problem really is portion.

Aside from reducing alcohol to every other day, I think the area where I think I could make definite improvements is what I have at work. I have one or two black coffees and then a ton of water, but I could eat a ton of fruit for breakfast, and prepare my lunches. I think that's a real pita but maybe I could just get used to doing the for the next few weeks/months?

I just thought, I also get ravenously hungry in the lead up to my period, so that's usually a several day long binge. And my cycles are no longer regular so this can hit any time. Snacking on fruit and veg doesn't cut it when that happens. Anyone have any suggestions???

Riddleofthesands · 26/05/2019 11:55

I’m 52, am I the oldest?

Weird long periods, fat around my middle. Hair thinning. Mildly anxious all the time, never had that before. Looking forward to coming out the other end, no more periods would be fab. What helps me is fresh air and exercise but I have to force myself.

Simmy87 · 26/05/2019 12:10

Am up for setting one up. If u would like to Pm your numbers. I personally would find it easier to keep going and being active in the chat ? We can share receipes ifo etc

boooey · 26/05/2019 12:18

Diet wise I’m hoping to just be more mindful, smaller portions is my target. I may be relying a little more on m+s balanced ready meals when I’m not cooking (I can eat a serving of pasta for 3 people) and no bloody crisps/chocs even if they are ‘low fat/sugar’.

I do love a mid morning latte though to break up the working day.

Today I’ve had Lizzies low sugar granola (around 50g, oops) and three big tablespoons on soya yogurt.
I’m also drinking a milky coffee but going to the gym later.

Can I join?

I'm 5.5 and 10stone12.

I'm going on holiday in 8 weeks if I could lose a stone it would be great, but I love my food. I live for my food, so it's going to be hard.

I'm going to start exercising. Started yesterday with a long bike ride, going to do couch to 5k too, then just cut out junk food.

I'm off work this week might try 16:8.

Trippedupagain · 26/05/2019 12:32

@Riddleofthesands no, you aren't the oldest. I think I am! So much harder to lose weight as you get older as well, sometimes it hardly seems worth it. I am motivating myself by thinking of my joints, that's how old I am!

Penguin13 · 26/05/2019 12:37

Good start to the day - long walk up a hill with the 2 and 4 yo (long for a 2yo anyway!) Usually any calories burned would be more than obliterated by a pub lunch afterwards but we were sensible and had sandwiches at home. Good for waistline AND wallet Grin

Anyone up for losing a stone?
Riddleofthesands · 26/05/2019 14:01

Hi Trippedupagain it’s very much use it or lose it isn’t it. It definitely is harder as we age, I never had to diet until my late 40’s. I do feel at a bit of a crossroads, keep battling and lose the fat middle or give in to elasticated waistbands. Roast chicken and salad here, I skipped the full English DH does every Sunday morning.

Beautiful view Penguin13.

Trippedupagain · 26/05/2019 14:49

@Riddleofthesands 'give in to elasticated waistbands' Never!! Grin
