Anyone up for losing a stone?

teneight · 24/05/2019 09:14

I am bursting out of all of my clothes, I have decided to lose the offending stone.

Just weighed myself and I'm 10'8.

I could probably do with losing 1.5 stones but I'm setting a goal of one stone which will get me back into my clothes.

Fancy joining me?

Yes please - I am 10 stone 20 and need to lose a stone before my holiday at the end of July.. I have got down to 10.1 in the past but it always creeps back up again.

boooey · 25/05/2019 12:17

I’d like to join in please !
Currently weigh 10 stone 2lbs at 5’6.
I have a big tyre of fat around my hips and bum and certain clothes look awful.
I want to get rid of the muffin top and no exercise is helping (I gym 3 times a week)
Time to stop the snacks especially during the week and rein in the portion sizes

Trippedupagain · 25/05/2019 12:18

I can't bring myself to get on the scales as I know I'll hate what I see, but all my summer clothes from last year look and feel tight so I have put weight on definitely. Probably put on about 10 lbs I'd say and I wasn't skinny last year, sort of size 12 sliding into 14. I'd like to join in though. I have to eat less and cut out the sweet things, snacks, extras generally. Exercise isn't too bad as I walk quite a bit and my Fitbit says I do about 10,000 steps a day. It's the food...

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 25/05/2019 12:18

Me! I'll read back later. I'd like to join in.

@gettofuckthrees
Thank you! And good luck to you also Wink

Penguin13 · 25/05/2019 14:09

Just escaped to the village while youngest was napping and treated myself to a cappuccino which would normally have veeb accompanied by a slice of cake. As you can see, i am not the world's most extreme dieter by any stretch of the imagination, but i am hoping that small changes and not treating cake/chocolate as an essential, daily, food group will add up and be a sustainable habit shift for me even if the weight is slow coming off.

Anyone else contending with prolapse? Never been properly diagnosed but I am 90% certain i have a mild prolapse which makes me nervous of things like running for cardio which used to be my go to for weignt loss. I do yoga once a week to try to strengthen and did start mutu so need to get back on that. I love walking which seems safer but it takes so much longer which is harder to fit in.

Corneliawildthing · 25/05/2019 14:23

I have been trying to go for a walk every day but for the last week it has been raining every day when I've got home from work so haven't been out at all Sad

Galwaygirl · 25/05/2019 14:38

Hi, I would love to join in too, have 2 stone to go.
I find that I can be ok during the day but in the evenings I am so bad, no control over my eating habits and eating rubbish, would be opening a bar of chocolate saying I don't need this and then it's open and gone, would love some ideas to help with this, have to have some treats in the house as DH loves a little treat and this weight Is my problem so think others need to suffer because I have no self control, good luck all.
Today I weigh 13stone 11lbs Shock

piscis · 25/05/2019 14:48

I am OK with Saturdays too.
10st 8pounds today.
I am fasting 16 hours a day (16:8), but only 3 days a week (the days I work). The rest of the days I try to have just two meals a day with no snacking in between. Avoid refined carbs and absolutely no sugar (luckily I do not have a sweet tooth) but I don't count calories.
I am going to a music festival tomorrow, it is going to be hard to avoid alcohol completely and an event on Monday, so not the best week to lose weight! But I'll try my best

Riddleofthesands · 25/05/2019 15:23

Joining please, this thread is exactly what I need. Small boned and not tall, tummy is where all the fat sits. I have so many clothes I like but just can’t wear. Size 14 clothes very uncomfortable, size 12s impossible. I have gained a stone since early December. Just eating too much, I love big bowls of pasta but they do not love me. Just weighed and I am exactly 10 stone. I will low carb as I know that works for me. Hope this works, I hate being a barrel on hot summer days.

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 25/05/2019 15:49

Caught up now. I am about 10 stone 4, 5 foot 4, want to be 9 stone 7.

I run. A lot. But I also love food. Did parkrun this morning but more than made up for it with calories.

I lost two stone last year but am taking a very relaxed attitude to the last bit - you could say that I am maintaining brilliantly Grin but actually I feel like a failure and am eating too many treats.

I calorie count (v loosely atm) and think I am going to go for the 'eating real food' method. No processed, no junk etc.

Have a good day everyone!

sweetkitty · 25/05/2019 17:37

I’ve had a bad day today McDonalds and vegan choc from Holland & Barrett bad nights sleep woke at 4am in a lot of pain and was tossing and turning like mad so I’m tired. It’s been pouring here for a while so haven’t walked the dog today either, I can usually do 12-17,000 steps in a day too.

Well yesterday was my treat day and I had a big slab of galaxy Grin I had vague intentions of saving half of it for tonight but it didn’t happen.

Today probably also won’t be a particularly low calorie day as I’m out competing the horse but it will be a long, very active day.

My planned meals are pretty good;
Overnight oats with berries, half a banana and some walnuts
Slice of quiche, vegetable crudités and hula hoops
Grapes to snack
Courgetti in a light cream cheese sauce with a crumbled sausage and roast veg for dinner.

There will be a cappuccino or two and either a brownie or an icecream no doubt but I’m fine with that for a competition day.

twobambinos · 26/05/2019 08:18

Can I jump in here. About 10st 8 and need to lose at least a stone. I get to 10 and let go but I am much happier closer to 9 which I haven't been. Have an 8 month old and find some days stressful. Older dcs will be getting school holidays soon so will try and do as much exercise as I can for the next few weeks.
Have a whole wardrobe of 10 to 12s waiting to be unleashed.

@twobambinos welcome

Morning all, I had a really good day yesterday then it all fell out of bed spectacularly in the evening. Had an unexpected Indian meal out and lots of wine. Too much wine in fact, I feel as rough as fuck today.

I'm sat on the sofa feeling sorry for myself with yesterday's mascara half way down my face. It's not pretty. Going to get in the shower now and sort myself out.

I promise to try harder today.

Anyone with a he'll of a lot more than a stone to lose on here?
I am morbidly obese and can barely move these days (seriously! my back, one knee and the other legs ankle have gone on strike until better working conditions have been agreed! It's great fun walking up and down stairs atm) and I have a six year old who has already written a poem about his big, fat, mum... fat shaming at six!Grin
I won't put my starting weight on as too ashamed, but if I do the one stone at a time approach with you guys it may work better than thinking oh dear God I need to lose 8 stone!!!

Penguin13 · 26/05/2019 08:44

Teneight today is a new day. Hope you feel better after a shower. Not ideal but still better than if you hadn't bothered all day and then overindulged as well!

I am having an indian out tonight as it's our 7th wedding anniversary - hoping i can find some healthier choices (was thinking tandoori) but won't be beating myself up for not being super strict.

Penguin13 · 26/05/2019 08:48

Cross post OJZJ welcome aboard. Seems like a good approach - even with a bit over a stone to lose i'm trying to break it down into smaller goals. Each positive choice you make is a step in the right direction and all the small good choices will add up into something bigger over time. Good luck!

OJZJ · 26/05/2019 08:49

Have you tried soaking chopped up dates in with your overnight oats? They are lovely...
I have read about eating 3 dates a day and the fantastic health benefits so combining them with GF oats and nut milk and forcing myself to eat breakfast atm (although not first thing)
Also been taking advantage of Tesco having avocados on offer at 39p for a quick evening meal...
I am trying just to eat heart healthy nd better choices rather than my previous all or nothing diets so will be slower but hopefully more permanent this time.
I have previously lost and regained several stones several times over the last 25 years!

OJZJ · 26/05/2019 08:50

Thanks penguin Grin

dudsville · 26/05/2019 08:53

May I join? I'm currently 12st 2.5 lbs, 167 lbs, 75.8 kg. I used to maintain a steady 10.5 to 11 stone range and that looked good on me. After some medical complications 7 years ago I ballooned up to over 13 st, about 85 kg, about 190 lbs. I looked big at that weight. Once recovered, about 4 years ago, I didn't need to diet to lose some weight but the weight reduction stalled at my current weight. My tummy is flat but my ass and thighs are too big. I'm so near the healthy BMI range. I'm older so I need to get the weight off and it's harder as we age.

I don't have a big sweet tooth. I used to buy cappuccinos several times a week so I've stopped that. My three biggest problems are portion size, lunches at work, and alcohol.

I can cut alcohol back to every other day as a start. I do struggle with lunch at work. Needs to be easy. Portion size is the big big problem. I can fold in a little more exercise... hoping to get some motivation and tips here!

twobambinos · 26/05/2019 08:56

@iwillwear I was at the 9st mark post dc1 and dc2 by the time they were a year old. But I have a hell of a 4 months ahead if that's to be possible this time. But any step in the right direction is good.

Porridge for breakfast. Lunch is out so it will be damage limitation. I'm planning to go for a run later too so hopefully that will help keep today on track.

@teneight I'm sure many of us can associate with the mascara down the face. Give yourself a few hours to rest then back on it
