Hi all, made a new thread as the last one filled up so quickly and I'm still bloody massive!Grin

Rules are: be kind, no judging, have a sense of humour, weigh on Wednesday mornings... and no training with Amanda Grin

@YouBoggleMyMind @recklessgran @MrsMummyBx @emilyjeff and others! Here's a brand new spanking thread.

Thanks Mummy, sorry you've had scary news regarding your pregnancy, I hope it goes well and be kind to yourself, it's a lot to take in.

Good luck Tinsel, let us know how it goes 👍🏻

recklessgran · 30/05/2019 16:12

Good luck @Tinsel sending you good vibes! @YouBoggle sorry you've not been well - doubly awful when you also have a little one on the go all the time. Just marking time now until my holiday. DD's arriving one by one ready for our weekend in the New Forest. So pleased that the weather is looking good. It will be first time on the beach for DGD . So excited to see what she makes of it and to take her on the little Noddy train.Going to try to avoid as many carbs as I can. [Polishes halo....]

TinselAndKnickers · 30/05/2019 19:11

Once again I'm eating a shame Mayo Chicken from McDonald's in my car.. Sadexam went awful! None of the formulas I'd revised came up only niche bloody stuff Angry

Have a lovely weekend reckless I'm so jealous!!

emilyjeff · 30/05/2019 22:10

Oh no tinsel thats an awful feeling when youre in an exam and its all stuff you've not revised! Hope you did better than you think.
My eating has been awful today :(( Started off well but got in from horse riding this afternoon and ate a magnum, chunk of cheese, crisps, mini mars bar can't even remember what else, so then didn't really want my dinner. So bloody annoyed with myself, why do I have no will power?!
Have a fab time at the weekend reckless we are having a quiet one this weekend x

recklessgran · 30/05/2019 23:53

Thanks all for lovely good wishes. Halo has slipped and is strangling me! . DD3 is here [half term for her] so we went to the Beefeater for dinner. Gammon and egg, chips, salad, sticky toffee pudding and ice-cream AND 2 JD's and coke. BAD GRANNY! Sigh. Just not getting on the wagon - I hear you @emily - I completely lost it today too didn't I? @Tinsel sorry about exam - they're so unfair. I often wonder if there ought to be a better way as it's all to do with luck in my opinion. Have a drink love.

TinselAndKnickers · 31/05/2019 00:21

Halo has slipped and is strangling me!

Oh reckless you bring me so much joy Grin glad you had a good time! Thanks you too - I'm the same Emily once I slip, I'm done for!

I have two exams, Monday Tuesday, then 11th of June is my final one! Got to try extra hard and fingers crossed these will go better Grin had my sneaky binge today but I didn't go home and eat dinner after like my little piggy self normally would! Tomorrow I may go for a swim before starting my next lot of revision. Enjoy your weekends everyone - think of me drowning in mindmaps and notes!

Loosen that halo Reckless, you're doing just fine and that dinner sounds delightful 😋

recklessgran · 31/05/2019 10:24

Morning all - right girls, I need to get a pedometer .Any recommendations? The caveat is that believe it or not I refuse to have a mobile phone as I'm blowed if I'm going to be trackable when I'm out - Big Brother and all that, so that rules out one of those fitbit things I've heard about. Also I don't want one that needs a degree in IT to set up. I've looked on Amazon and currently have 6 in my basket pending a decision. I'm so determined to lose this weight but I think I'm sabotaging my efforts as I 'm currently about as active as a slug!
A pedometer will at least make me MOVE. Tomorrow I'm going to do the okeycokey on the beach with DGD. That's currently our favourite activity along with a game I've nicknamed tippytoes. This entails a kind of follow the leader with DGD in front taking tiny baby steps on tiptoes and me behind shouting "tippytoes, tippytoes" at the top of my voice. DGD giggles like mad at this.DD2 is blaming me for the disruption dgd is causing on Friday mornings at her baby ballet class. [Oh dear, now you all know for sure that I need locking up....] Anyway enough ramblings from me - Im off out shopping with dear g/f for waterproof picnic blankets for the beach followed by the usual foray to the pub. Have a good day all - catch up later.

TinselAndKnickers · 31/05/2019 18:02

Oooh check you! I'm going to join you in getting one after payday but think I'm getting a Fitbit so can't recommend! Boggle gets on okay with hers Smile that game sounds adorable - enjoy your weekend! I've had a really good eating day today Grin

OP posts:
emilyjeff · 31/05/2019 21:21

I have the Huwaei copy of the fitbit, only cost about £15 and does the job perfectly. You do need to connect it to your phone though. I find that weekends and day off I easily do 10,000 steps but on a work day I'm lucky to hit 2000. Pleasures of having a desk job I guess.
I've been pretty good today. Trying to let myself eat a bit more as I think maybe I'm being too harsh and then I can only manage a day or two before I go mad and stuff myself full of junk!
Happy weekend all x

TinselAndKnickers · 02/06/2019 00:44

Hello you lot, hope the weekends going well! I've spent four hours going over the same calculation, crying and stressing, and I've finally bloody cracked it Grin I also had my hair done today and ate pulled pork burritos so it's been a niceish day.

In the coming week I'm going to go back to mostly 16:8 eating window, and protein/fat focused. I'm going to eat a small jacket potato for lunch every day to get my carb fix! Really just for ease of making meals when I'm busy and for a bit of routine. Smile

Had a gin to celebrate my newfound genius (haha! Far from it) and now going to bed very satisfied. Catch up soon! Star

Evening all hope you've all had a good weekend.
We've had quite a chilled one, been horse riding both days. Went to friends BBQ last night, managed to eat quite healthily although did have some pavlova for pudding. Have eaten loads of snacks today :( And was intending to go for a run but didnt fancy it much in this heat so not been and not done much at all this afternoon.
Feeling fat and un motivated tbh. Considering doing the military diet for 3 days starting tomorrow as I think I need something really restrictive to show me how little I actually need to eat. Have done it before but not for a few years. How does your fasting thing work tinsel? What hours do you fast? Do you just delay breakfast til later on? Think I need to do something different as my current method just isn't cutting it!

TinselAndKnickers · 02/06/2019 19:15

That sounds like a lovely weekend Emily! Personally when I do fasting I only eat between 12pm and 8pm (only on days that it works out!) and I only drink tea in the morning to start my metabolism - you're only meant to drink water but I cheat Grin and I don't really eat breakfast, more like lunch, snack, dinner, snack Grin but you can change the hours to suit you, or increase them eg 10am to 8pm, or lower them. Some people only eat between 4pm and 8pm!!

recklessgran · 03/06/2019 11:57

Morning all we're back from our weekend away and had a really great time - DD says she will never forget. Brilliant. Eating not too bad all things considered and my weight this morning is the same as on last weigh day so no actual damage done it seems. I'm going to try really hard this week as we go away next Tuesday 11th. I know I will gain on holiday even though I will be more active by a long way than I am currently. There's only so much lying on a sunbed I can cope with! Really not used to doing nothing much. Hope everyone else had a good weekend.@Tinsel so glad you cracked in - genius! Thinking of you and hoping the remaining exams are fine.

YouBoggleMyMind · 04/06/2019 16:23

Help me, I need help. Why can't I do it? Sad

TinselAndKnickers · 04/06/2019 17:03

Two exams this week both crap! One next week. Can't stop eating shit. Same boat as you Boggle looks like we need a willpower transplant.

So glad you had a lovely time reckless it sounds so special Smile

OP posts:
recklessgran · 04/06/2019 21:11

Same here girls - we're all in the same boat. I've had Cornish pasty, chips and beans tonight. I think I've sort of given up now due to holiday next week and plan to make a fresh start when I get back. I'll consider myself lucky if I manage a maintain tomorrow. Don't really know what the answer is but I've been a bit more concerned about my health rather than my weight these last few months if I'm honest. @YouBoggle don't forget you've been tackling cutting down your drinking and @Tinsel you've had your love life as well as exams and a job not to mention Amanda to contend with. I think we all ought to be looking at the bigger picture in terms of progress NOT just the scales. Group hug!!

YouBoggleMyMind · 04/06/2019 21:35

I need a slap in the face 😓 I wish I cared more!!!

MrsMummyBx · 05/06/2019 04:12

Hello all, hope you’re all well? @Tinsel hope you’re surviving the exams.

I have been eating SO MANY CARBS it’s about all I can eat without feeling sick. Each meal is pasta or jacket potato etc etc. Luckily I also can’t eat much so hoping the smaller portion sizes mean that I don’t put on too much weight?! I’m totally off chocolate at the moment- extremely unlike me!!!!!

Totally non diet related issue- my DH is a bad snorer and it’s keeping me awake - anyone any tips?! I went to boots and bought a spray that you have to spray on the throat- so I just woke him up now to spray it in his mouth - very unimpressed he was!!! Think it helps a teeny bit. Anyone else any other suggestions?!?!? Unfortunately we don’t have a spare room at the moment and I feel too mean to relegate him to the sofa...!

recklessgran · 05/06/2019 09:46

Good morning this weigh day Wednesday.
Last week 13st 3.25lbs
Today 13st 4.25lbs
So that's a one pound gain for me unsurprisingly. This means that I am virtually the same now as I was on 20th March. Mmm, so I'm not making any progress at all. Time to have a rethink - particularly about some proper exercise as I truly don't eat much compared to everyone else. So cross with myself as apart from the odd days off the wagon I feel as though the lack of loss isn't due to lack of effort on my part. I'm obviously wrong though. Pedometer ordered!

recklessgran · 05/06/2019 09:52

Oops sorry @Mummy so wrapped up in myself that I forgot to reply about the snoring. Have you tried an anti snore pillow? They've been selling out according to the press. Also there do seem to be various gadgets like nasal dilators and mouth pieces that you can get but they seem a bit invasive to me. Is DH overweight because sometimes losing weight can make a difference? You have my sympathy - DH also snores but apparently so do I so I guess we're quits on that one and take turns waking each other up. It hasn't bothered us enough to make us do anything about it though so I've nothing to personally recommend.

emilyjeff · 05/06/2019 10:18

Glad you enjoyed your weekend reckless it sounds lovely.
I think we've all been struggling food wise lately. I've been fairly good the last two days. Did day 1 of the military diet on monday. Didnt do day 2 yesterday but I had a pretty good day food wise. When I'm at home its just so hard cos every time I go in the kitchen I want to eat something!! I think a lot of the time I think I'm hungry when I'm actually thirsty.Anyway did zumba last night and didnt eat anything when I got home which is a first :) (I have dinner before I go)
So weighed myself this morning, same as last week. A little disheartened as I kind of thought there would be a small loss but I'm feeling brighter so gonna try desperately to stay on track! x

TinselAndKnickers · 05/06/2019 11:05

I had a sneaky weigh in and I've gained 5lb 😓😓making me 14st5 the heaviest I've ever been in my whole life!!!

The exam stress and break up has obviously got the better of me. Not to mention they have shut all possible routes to the gym so I'm paying £30 a month to not even go. Angry

6 months I've been on here and I'm bloody worse off than I started! Where has all my motivation gone?! Final exam next week and after that it's hardcore time (I say for the millionth time) I think my problem is allowing myself too much lenience and it's not becoming a "lifestyle" which is what they say is needed to change. This time next year I want to have lost at least three stone. I need to get my shit together! We're in this for the long haul ladies Grin

MummyB sorry I can't help with the snoring, ex-DP used to snore and he'd get a sharp kick in the leg Grin

Reckless your pedometer will be great! I need one too. If I get the uni placement I want (been selected for interview at the end of the month!!!) I'll be able to treat myself to a fancy Fitbit! Your health comes first always so don't you worry about that sneaky lb as i bet it will he gone by next week! You've done the best out of any of us so far so well done! Smile

OP posts:
MrsMummyBx · 05/06/2019 11:35

Thanks @reckless I will investigate an anti snore pillow. Yes agree DH is never going to wear one of those thingys you put in the nose. @tinsel yes kick in the leg is my current approach!!!

MrsMummyBx · 05/06/2019 11:36

@tinsel please don’t worry about your weight- you have had a lot of stress - I am also a stress eater. Don’t worry I am in this for the long haul too- once bubba is born I want to shift the weight I never lost since bubba number 1 - so I have diet plans well into 2020!!!!!
