Hello lovely ladies, so sorry I’ve been AWOL and hope you’re all ok. Few things have happened...had my first scan which was lovely and bubba no2 is doing well :-) gorgeous to see him/her on screen. Then next day started bleeding and cramping so went to hospital, they did a scan and luckily bubba is fine which was a massive relief. However they picked up that I have placenta accreta where the placenta grows too deeply into the wall of the womb and they often remove the womb after delivery to stop mum bleeding to death on the table. So good news is v unlikely to die but probably can’t have any more children! To be honest if I make it out ok and bubba is ok then being sans womb is definitely preferable to any other options :-)

So all a bit of a shock but I’m doing ok.

And I’m eating Percy pigs so diet isn’t going well either! I’m going to get on the healthy eating wagon again though as I figure I need to be in the best state possible to handle the hell thats going to come at the end of the pregnancy. Luckily I’m at a fantastic teaching hospital and apparently the world and his wife will be in theatre with me so I’m in the best place :-)

Anyway I hope you’re having a good bank holiday weekend and you have had a less eventful week!!!!

recklessgran · 25/05/2019 12:28

OMG @Mummy I'm so sorry you have had that awful worry. but I'm glad you're back here and hope we can support you with our chat over the coming months! Weight loss not going all that well here - I really haven't been very good over the last few days and have been eating too much bread as usual! I really shouldn't eat it at all. Oh well, thanks to @emily I'm weaning myself off and on to the marmite rice cakes that are only 28 calories each. At the rate I'm going I'll never get to that elusive 13st 1lb that would mean a stone off since we all "met" in January.

emilyjeff · 25/05/2019 13:49

Hi ladies
MummyB that sounds a bit scary but sounds like you have a good team taking care of you and you know what to expect.
All good with me, did park run this morning and knocked over a minute off my previous best! So feeling a bit proud of myself, maybe the healthy eating and exercise is paying off even if I haven't actually lost much weight! Going to an outdoor cinema thing tonight with some friends so looking forward to that, tho it may involve popcorn, sweets and alcohol!!
Have a good weekend everyone x

MrsMummyBx · 25/05/2019 14:38

@reckless thank you, really good to have the support of my online pals! Marmite rice cakes sound yummy!!! You’re doing really well with your weight loss since we started...just keep going!!! I want to cut out all the nasties I’m eating as being overweight in the operating theatre isn’t going to help anyone. Hoping to replace with more nutritious food. Had a v healthy brekkie this morning with lots of blueberries and raspberries and yoghurt, trying to forget about the Percy pigs!!!!!

@emily enjoy the outdoor cinema, that sounds great! Popcorn sounds delish too, a night off dieting is fine!!

TinselAndKnickers · 25/05/2019 17:06

Oh no MummyB that sounds scary - glad you are feeling positive about it Smile we are here for support anyway.

I'm the same as reckless in that I have a serious bread and carb addiction Blush

That outdoor cinema sounds cool! Always wanted to go to one.

I'm in full revision mode at the moment so more grazing rather than huge meals... swings and roundabouts cos I'm still chunky Grin

MrsMummyBx · 25/05/2019 18:16

Thank you @tinsel.

Good luck with the revision! Sounds v tiring and stressful, I think you can excuse yourself some grazing!!

recklessgran · 26/05/2019 21:56

Eaten junk today - chocolate, toast, pasta for dinner. I have not made one single healthy choice despite the fridge being full of salad/fruit etc.
I need a talking to girls as I don't seem able to get on the wagon let alone stay on it. Hope you are all doing better than me which let's face it won't be too difficult. Starting again tomorrow with a clean slate!

MrsMummyBx · 26/05/2019 22:33

Hi @reckless argh I’ve been awful today and feeling knackered I think the junk I’ve been eating isn’t helping! Tomorrow no junk for me, healthy fruit and veggies!

TinselAndKnickers · 26/05/2019 22:34

I had a dominos for dinner Blush been a right piggy today. Tomorrow is a long fast and maybe a swim too! We're awful BlushGrin

Morning everyone - right I'm on the wagon and raring to go. No carbs before Marbs! Two weeks tomorrow until my holiday so I'm committing right here and now to no bread, biscuits or chocolate which seem to be my downfall these days. It's odd but prior to dieting I never ate anything sweet - no desserts, chocs, sweets, biscuits, cake or anything like that. [Don't worry I wasn't angelic but made up for it in savoury things like cheddars, crisps and cheese - lots of cheese!] @Tinsel pleased to hear about the D3 -I've been reading up on Vitamin D and think we should all be taking it unless we're farmers working all day in the fields.I took my second weekly ampoule on Thursday - 4 to go and hoping I will feel better for it. After that I'm taking 1000 a day forever after what I've been reading. Never thought I'd ever take supplements but here we are. Hope everyone has a good day - I'm going to keep myself occupied with a bit of cleaning. Ddog has been to the doggy spa and now smells like a sexy bloke not a dog so I need to clean the sitting room carpet which is what I usually do when he's been bathed so we're all fresh again. Anyway, enough of my rambling- good day all and catch up later.

emilyjeff · 27/05/2019 19:48

Evening all, well I've had a lovely bank hol weekend. Outdoor cinema was really good if a little chilly! Managed to restrain myself from too many snacks too.
Other than that have done lots of walking, my meals have been fairly healthy although I have had cake every day! Not too confident that I will have lost anything this week but hey ho, back on it properly tomorrow.
Also, not sure if anyone is interested but there is a book on Amazon called 'Never binge again' someone mentioned it on a facebook group I am in, anyway its free on kindle today so I have downloaded. Will let you know if I learn anything useful from it! x

TinselAndKnickers · 27/05/2019 19:57

Oooh yes please! I have booked an outdoor cinema as a surprise for my friends birthday in August inspired by you Grin

Quick check in - still a fat bastard!

Ham salad and 2 glasses of red wine - a rare treat at g/f 's house this evening.Sob far so good but that's only one day. Must keep it up tomorrow - keep repeating NO BREAD to myself.

MrsMummyBx · 28/05/2019 04:55

Hi ladies hope you all had a good bank holiday weekend. I did nothing but rest yesterday and feeling a whole lot better.
@reckless and @tinsel need to ask you about your D3. My endocrinologist has put me on 2000 a day vitamin d tabs as I’m low on vitamin d. I’ve just been buying whatever I can lay my hands on from the pharmacy. What is the difference between the cheapo stuff I’ve been using and D3?

recklessgran · 28/05/2019 11:07

@MrsMummy I think D3 is what you need - it's something to do with absorption. I was prescribed Invita D3 50,000 IU ampoules one a week for 6 weeks by my G.P. That was because in a full panel of bloods I was found to be seriously deficient. After the 6 week course I will just take the over the counter D3 permanently.[The tub I have are 1000IU Valupak D3 90 tabs and cost 99p.] Interestingly studies have shown that deficiency can contribute to the likelihood of contracting serious diseases such as cancer and it is thought may inhibit weight loss. I don't think it can harm as the majority of the population in the Northern hemisphere are deficient to some degree as we don't get enough sunlight on our bodies to manufacture enough for our needs. Anyway, I'm going to take 2000IU a day once I've finished my course and will just buy the cheapo stuff from the pharmacy. I'm about to invest in a job lot for the whole family.Hope that helps.

TinselAndKnickers · 28/05/2019 14:26

I just bought these. No idea about all the specifics! Just did it cos reckless said Grin and thought it would be worth a shot.

Ready meal from Aldi for lunch - Spanish chicken and potatoes, around 360kcals Smile yum

recklessgran · 28/05/2019 14:36

Oooh by the looks of it they're the proper posh ones, thanks @Tinsel - I'm going to get those I think - will be better than the ones I've got at the moment I'm sure which are only 1000IU. [If I'm going to do it I want to make a proper job of it.]
Trying to be good and I'm having salad for dinner tonight. In the meantime I've got a nice juicy pear if I need a snack. I'll be lucky if the scales show a loss tomorrow.

TinselAndKnickers · 28/05/2019 21:23

They're easy to swallow but if you sniff inside the tub it stinks Grin

I'm not weighing this week or next as I have exams Thursday, Monday and Tuesday which I'm stressed about and don't need to beat myself up any more. Probably a cop out but really don't know how I'm going to pass! Still can't decide if I want a placement or if I want to start a business or both HmmGrin

God I'm a fussy mare!

OP posts:
MrsMummyBx · 28/05/2019 22:34

Thanks @reckless that’s super helpful, I had a vitabiotics one in the cupboard which was more expensive and I realised it’s actually D3 so I’m taking that now!!

emilyjeff · 29/05/2019 08:12

Morning ladies, I'm gonna give the D3 a go too I think! I probably don't get enough sun on my skin, have had melanoma in the past so always avoid the sun as much as possible.
Anyway weds weigh in- same as last week but kind of what I expected to be honest x

recklessgran · 29/05/2019 14:40

It's 1lb gain for me. Not really surprised as I haven't been behaving myself properly so 13 st 3.25 lbs for me. I'm going to try a bit of exercise next I think. No other ideas about how to tackle this. I've been keeping under 1200 calories even though I've been having toast. Let's see if the no carbs has an effect by next week's weigh in.

YouBoggleMyMind · 29/05/2019 17:02

Hi I'm still here. Fallen off the wagon spectacularly and now got a sickness bug so feeling extremely sorry for myself.

MrsMummyBx · 30/05/2019 07:54

@boggle sorry to hear you’re poorly at the moment, wishing you feel better very soon Flowers

TinselAndKnickers · 30/05/2019 10:33

Hope you feel better soon Boggle.

First exam today ahhhShock
