Hi everyone

I have a lot of weight to lose and really really struggling. Have been on so many diets I have lost count and never seem to be able to stick to anything. I have realised that today it is exactly 8 weeks until I go on holiday and I had really wanted to lose weight and feel better about myself before then and suddenly it's coming round so quickly so I'm hoping that will help motivate me. Is anyone else interested in challenging themselves to lose as much as they can in that time??

xx

You’ve all started so well!

I’m feeling very lost! I’ve not been that unhealthy, but don’t feel I've been that healthy either - which makes me worried nothing will change! Did say no to DH when he wanted to buy crisps yesterday. That’s a mini win.

Hello 👋🏻

I've been sent over here by @Housewife2010 - hope it's ok to join.

I have about 1.5 stones to shift. Trying to kerb my sugar and junk food addiction. And ideally would like to get to a size 10 (currently in denial but am a size 14. Was told by another poster on my original thread that my eating habits are putting my health at risk which was a bit of a short sharp shock.

Starting today - would love to lose 12lbs in 8 weeks.

PhillipeFellope · 27/03/2019 20:20

I've had one of those days, didn't get any breakfast, lunch was a ham, lettuce and hummus sandwich but at 1:30. I've snacked on beef jerky and Not long had tea which was half a chicken breast with some salad. No exercise today and only managed 8K steps.

I want a pint of wine.

2anddone · 27/03/2019 20:32

Can I join please? I started at 11st 11lb in July and am slowly getting the weight off. Weighed in at 10st 10lb Friday my weighing day would love to get down to 10st but I have plateaued and can't seem to go any further and I have sort of given up doesn't help I have been housebound with a child with chicken pox this week

Oysterbabe · 27/03/2019 20:43

A successful fast day for me today. Just water and black coffee all day then sausage, mash and peas for dinner. Tomorrow I'll skip breakfast, salad for lunch then pasta bolognaise for dinner. Weigh in Friday.

PhillipeFellope · 27/03/2019 20:45

I just ate a 1/3 tub of yoghurt, I have also shouted at DH for, well, breathiand mithering basically. I think I'm PMSing Wine

DangerMouse17 · 27/03/2019 20:49

Bad day for me as I've had a headache all day. I've eaten loads of choc! The one good thing I've done is drink 2litres of water...so feeling slightly proud, as that's something I never do! 😊

Going to try for an early night, lose the headache and get cracking properly again tomorrow.

Well done to all of you...everyone has kicked things off really well!

small2018 · 27/03/2019 21:58

Can I please start with you tomorrow?

Am just over 11 stone and would like to get to 10 first.

Planning on low carb. Lots of eggs and chicken!

Hello bodgersmash
Welcome to our Losing the Lard Support Thread. X

I made overnight oats last night so am pleased with myself today- a big portion but I am trying not to eat between meals (kind of influenced by the no s diet, but I’m not quite there yet!). Had a big lunch yesterday but compensated with a small dinner so quite pleased. Might try and run later but only have a small window I could fit that into so have to see how it goes! (Also, for me, more exercise makes me more hungry so it’s hard to find a balance).
Hope everyone manages a good day today!

I'm not doing very well food wise. But I have been more active, over 10,000 steps everyday, which is a massive improvement for me. I'm 3 weeks off chocolate though, my consumption was becoming way out of control, but now I'm eating more bread and crisps so that has to stop!! I'm going to try intermittent fasting with slimming world!

PhillipeFellope · 28/03/2019 12:01

Had Strawberries and pomegranate pips with Greek yoghurt and a little drizzle of honey for breakfast, now having a salad (lettuce, carrot, olives, beetroot, bell pepper, bits of grated cheese and a soft boiled egg. 1 tbsp of French dressing for lunch).

Planning on making Joe Wicks veg spaghetti for tea.

PhillipeFellope · 28/03/2019 12:07

belly over 10k steps a day is brilliant! Could you try swapping crisps for pop chips or whatever? Rice cakes?

cherrysky · 28/03/2019 12:22

My body is reacting badly to the lack of chocolate and Diet Coke. Got a massive headache and no energy.

Luckily I'm not working today so I've pretty much sat on the sofa all morning, but I have sorted out some paperwork.

Going to get off my ass in a bit and do some housework and walk the dogs.

I had a bit of family stress yesterday which is playing on my mind and all I want to do is comfort eat! I'm going to be good though.

dancemom · 28/03/2019 12:31

Forgot to post yesterday

I had rye bread with whole earth peanut butter for breakfast

Homemade dahl and crackers for lunch

Pork steak and lots of veg for dinner

Fruit for snacks

Today will be

Scrambled eggs and spinach

Oats yogurt and blueberries for lunch

Chicken salad for dinner

Cracked and ate a French Fancy just there but will count the calories and be good for the rest of the day

Going to do a mid week weigh in tomorrow, 🤞🏼

VivaFrida · 28/03/2019 14:00

Hi all,

I am not entirely sure when this challenge started so I will take my weight of yesterday (27/3/19) as my starting weight: it's 65.7kg, 1.6kg 9about 3.5 pounds) less than the week before but I am aware that I will not lose so much weight every week!

Normally this is what I eat:

morning: 20gr porridge, fruit, 80gr of 0% greek yogurt

lunch: 2 eggs omelette in a tiny but (about 2ml) of olive oil, vegetables, some fruit; or salad with tuna; or leftovers. If I eat out I would have boiled eggs (the ones in a pot from pret or marx) and some other high protein/low calories food.

dinner: protein (fish, meat, or veggie alternative) with lots of vegetables and a little carbs (pasta, rice, potatoes).

For snacks/desserts I have fruit or natural zero percent yogurt with chocolate substitutes like Options hot chocolate or choc shot.

I started eating like this at the end of February and lost 4.6kg (10 lbs.) in 4 weeks, very happy with that. I also exercise a fair amount.

Oysterbabe · 28/03/2019 14:29

I think we need some kind of list with participants and results.

VivaFrida · 28/03/2019 14:33

Great Oysterbabe. Something like this:

VivaFrida, starting: 27/3, 65.7kg
goal: 59kg
week 1: xxx xxx

If everyone did a cut and paste with the previous people's post we would creat a list in no time.

cherrysky · 28/03/2019 14:47

Oysterbabe I think you should be secretary in charge of the list.

cherrysky
start date 26/3
10st 11.5

Kayleidogyn · 28/03/2019 15:00

I would love to join you, but I'm terrified of weighing myself after hospital weighing me & it being worse than I thought. I'm also so ashamed & couldn't let anyone else know. But wish you all good luck!!

cherrysky · 28/03/2019 15:13

Kayleidogyn welcome, please do Join us.

Please do not be ashamed.

Be brave, get on the scales so that you have a starting point. It may not be as bad as you think. Just think, by this time next week you will have lost some weight which is a step in the right direction.

You've got this Smile

PhillipeFellope · 28/03/2019 15:20

Treaclesweet · 28/03/2019 15:33

Hi all, I was embarrassed to post my start weight yesterday but feeling a little braver today so 14st 11 lbs!
I would like to get down to 11st eventually and see how I feel there, to start I would like to be down to 14 by my birthday at the beginning of may.

Yesterday and today went ok so far, trying for intermittent fasting and to get a handle on all the crap I've been eating. It does not make me feel good about myself I don't know why I do it!

Today I fasted until 2pm and then had homemade humous and feta salad, with bread. Not super light but I find snacking between meals is my worst bit so I'm trying to tackle that first.

Treaclesweet · 28/03/2019 15:35

@VivaFrida 27/3, 65.7kg goal: 59kg
@cherrysky 26/3 10st 11.5 goal: kg
