Hi everyone

I have a lot of weight to lose and really really struggling. Have been on so many diets I have lost count and never seem to be able to stick to anything. I have realised that today it is exactly 8 weeks until I go on holiday and I had really wanted to lose weight and feel better about myself before then and suddenly it's coming round so quickly so I'm hoping that will help motivate me. Is anyone else interested in challenging themselves to lose as much as they can in that time??

xx

I never got a chance to post yesterday, so signing in at 13st 11lbsBlush!! I was two stone lighter this time last yearBlush I'll be doing slimming world as much as I can. I'll be happy to lose a stone in 8 weeks! I've started walking more and will start doing some workouts as well!

PhillipeFellope · 26/03/2019 15:32

I've just been and bought a pair of trainers. I got a shooting pain up the side of my leg as I was trying them on. I can only assume that my body knows I'm about to attempt exercise and is seizing up in protest Grin

Housewife2010 · 26/03/2019 16:03

Please can I join. I've never posted on a weight loss thread before but I'm fed up of starting and ending diets all the time and not getting anywhere. For the last two weeks my eating has been out of control. Maybe an 8 week goal with all of you will help me. Today I was 14 stone 8. My goal is 10 stone 5. I'd like to be 13 stone by 21st May.

twopintsprick · 26/03/2019 18:00

Housewife2010 - your weight and goals are very similar to mine ..... we can do this 💪

Housewife2010 · 26/03/2019 18:04

Thank you. X

pikapika88 · 26/03/2019 18:27

Day 2 and I already want to weigh myself lol. Feel like I've been dieting for a month already!

cherrysky · 26/03/2019 18:39

Evening all,

I have been good today. Yesterday was disastrous for me, I just ate all day long.

Today I have been sorting the garden out and I have achieved loads of steps on my Fitbit. Feeling a little more positive now.

All I have to do now is get through to bedtime without eating anything else as I've used up my calorie allowance.

Anyone interested in an 8 week challenge??
PhillipeFellope · 26/03/2019 18:59

Well done cherrysky that's awesome!

I'm just putting the toddler to bed then waiting for my sis to arrive and then we're off to the gym!

Got Joe Wicks /Gousto 10 minute pork chilli ready for when I get back and ill chop up some tomato and avocado.

Had salad for lunch so I'm pleased with today so far. Still not drinking enough water though.

How's everyone getting on?

Tanaqui · 26/03/2019 19:23

I’ve been okay today, nothing drastic but trying to take it slow and steady! I’m similar to Dancemum, Viva and who the fuck, but I don’t have the excuse of 5 children! Have gained over half a stone since starting a new job and want to loose it before it becomes permanent! I know getting enough sleep makes a huge difference, so I’m off for an early night tonight- anyone else?!

lickencivers · 26/03/2019 19:29

Hey all

Can I join?
I'm pregnant and have gained 2 stone at 20 weeks, not happy. Was doing SW so will go back to that as of tomorrow morning. I shall weigh myself also.

Cinderbelly · 26/03/2019 19:34

Hi all, well I've had an up and down day. 12,800 steps so that's really good. BUT Struggling with what to eat. I Wanted to avoid bread for the week, and it's confused me a bit. If anyone can help me here I would appreciate it...
Normal breakfast poached egg on slice of toast. Keeps me full till lunch no snacks required.
Today I couldn't work out what to have with the egg so went with a tablespoon of granola and raisins with a tablespoon of honey and cup of Greek yoghurt. Not as filling. felt starving at lunch. Brought a salad from Morison's (there wasn't a lot of choice when I got there - one salad left or a few sandwiches..) salad was chicken and pasta with tomato and mayo. Was delicious but was 500 Cals! Decided to get a mango pot which said 81 cals per pot. Ate salad and pot of melons at desk. Then realised that the melon was 81 cals per 80g serving and the pot size was 250g!
So basically my decision to not wat bread has led to a few meals with higher calories and less filling! Hmm

cherrysky · 26/03/2019 20:17

Tanaqui, I'm in bed. It's 8.15

I can't be trusted downstairs, I will eat! Grin

PhillipeFellope · 26/03/2019 20:43

30 mins on the cross trainer 💪 first time at the gym in four years.

Oldtiger · 26/03/2019 22:10

dancemum I like the curly wurly idea! Today has been a bit of a nightmare with a pack of Crunchies on offer- I’ve eaten 3 😮 Starting afresh tomorrow!

StripeyChina · 26/03/2019 23:08

should have said: Monday I weighed 11st 5.
Aiming for 10st by 25 May. (fingers crossed)

I'm hungry :( but I will go to bed and sleep. Evenings are my downfall.
I don't NEED any calories at this time of night, I just feel 'like a treat' after a tough day. But my 'treat' will be to see the scales keep dropping.

lickencivers · 27/03/2019 06:42

Morning all

Mothers day lunch at the kids school and DP taking me out for dinner tonight so setting myself up for a fail on the first proper day! Going to go to the supermarket and stock up on SW friendly stuff and going to group tomorrow night.

I'm not going to weigh myself until tomorrow night either, I really wanted to enjoy this pregnancy but I feel so down about my body. I was so slim and fit just a few months ago. And because there's a bump everyone gets to comment on how big etc I am. Makes me really down.

I've been carrying an extra 2 stone of baby weight since having my first 3 years ago. I have a 15 month old too now who I'm still breastfeeding. At the start of March I just suddenly felt ready to do something about it. I was 12st 6.8lbs and I'm down to 11st 11.6 as of my last weigh in on Friday. I need to get to 10st 6 to have a healthy BMI so that's the ultimate goal. I'm aiming for 11st 3 first, which is what I weighed when I met DH. I do intermittent fasting and reduced carb. I still eat carbs with my evening meal due to breastfeeding.

PhillipeFellope · 27/03/2019 07:16

lickencivers I really struggled with being pregnant, I was MASSIVE. It was mostly water and baby but at the time it felt never ending and everyone has an opinion. Enjoy your pregnancy! Don't let other people get you down! Your body is doing an amazing thing, you are majestic and magnificent! Be healthy and then deal with the vandalism baby has done once they're born. Instead of slimming world have you looked at Glycemic index? It's more healthy living/lifestyle change than a "diet" but there's some brilliant recipes and is pregnancy safe.

cherrysky · 27/03/2019 07:31

Iickencivers your body is doing an amazing thing, you are growing a little human. Be kind to yourself. I totally get it though.

I went from 8st to 12st with each of my three babies. I was massive and had constant comments, usually 'are you sure you haven't got twins in there'. Yes I'm quite sure thank you.

With each of my babies my weight was back to normal within three months after birth. My three stone weight gain came years later Grin

Enjoy your Mother's Day meal 🌻

cherrysky · 27/03/2019 07:38

Welcome oysterbabe

Well done on your weight loss so far. I need to get to 10st 2 to be in the healthy bmi range. Yesterday I weighed 10st 11.5.

Good luck, we can all do this.

lickencivers · 27/03/2019 07:46

@PhillipeFellope I know about foods with a low GI but no idea about a GI diet?

Having dirty scrambled eggs this morning. Peas tomatoes and spinach with egg and some soy sauce for flavour. Normally would eat 4 crumpets Shock

Treaclesweet · 27/03/2019 07:51

Hi! Can I join please? Couple of days late and it's 6 weeks to my birthday so I shall have to work extra hard!

Had a baby four months ago and have barely lost any of the (huge amount) of weight I put on. I thought bf would do it but it doesn't seem to have made any difference!

Oysterbabe · 27/03/2019 07:54

It didn't work for me either treacle, just made me hungry!

3littlerabbits · 27/03/2019 08:07

I’ll join :) 77kg, need to lose at least 15kg. I stopped eating biscuits, chocolate, cake etc 3 weeks ago. I won’t be going back to them. I haven’t lost an ounce, but feel like I’ve created a better eating habit to start from to make more changes. So today is day one on no snacking. I’m having breakfast, elevenses, lunch, healthy afternoon snack (fruit or crackers) and dinner. Nothing else. I feel like I’m perpetually grazing so hopefully this will help.

whothefuckhas5children · 27/03/2019 11:30

VivaFrida yep that’s me!

Hi to everyone and it seems that there are a few people in the same brackets alright. Good to keep each other on track!

Breakfast - I had gorgeous overnight oats this morning with natural yogurt, mandarin, grapes, raspberries and apple.

Got a bit peckish just now, which is unusual for me as I don’t normally eat at 11. But just had a very tasty snack of asparagus, fried in a little butter with Parmesan. I’m calorie counting so will factor into my day.

Lunch - I’m planning Thai style fish cakes (which I had for dinner yesterday - I put them in the food processor for too long so they didn’t have enough bite - I’ll know for next time).

Dinner - might be an omelette with spinach, tomatoes, onions and mushrooms.
