Anyone interested in an 8 week challenge??

Hi everyone

I have a lot of weight to lose and really really struggling. Have been on so many diets I have lost count and never seem to be able to stick to anything. I have realised that today it is exactly 8 weeks until I go on holiday and I had really wanted to lose weight and feel better about myself before then and suddenly it's coming round so quickly so I'm hoping that will help motivate me. Is anyone else interested in challenging themselves to lose as much as they can in that time??

xx

My goodness @Oysterbabe bravo! 🙌🏻

20lbs since March! Well done, are you treating yourself with anything new to celebrate?

Oysterbabe · 10/05/2019 09:03

Thanks!
I've just ordered some Lucy and Yak dungarees :)

PhillipeFellope · 10/05/2019 09:31

oyster that is AMAZING!!! Congratulations!!

VivaFrida · 10/05/2019 10:59

Huge congrats oyster Star!

PhillipeFellope · 10/05/2019 16:18

Weighing in at 10,1 this morning. I'll deftaje that! Grin total loss of 1 stone 6lb so far. Another 8 lbs to go till goal weight by end of June.

Joined a different (and much nicer) gym yesterday and back on the diet plan. Feeling atrocious today though, I've caught DSs nursery flu toddler germs.

Oysterbabe · 10/05/2019 16:46

Brilliant! Well done.

bodgersmash · 10/05/2019 17:46

My god you're all killing it! Well done @PhillipeFellope 🌟

bodgersmash · 16/05/2019 12:33

How's everyone getting on? I appear to be stuck 2lbs above my target 😡

deadparrot · 16/05/2019 12:50

Bodge how long have you been stuck there? Not a bad place to be stuck though it must be very frustrating!

I'm doing OK, seem to be losing weight pretty steadily now though I must admit some old habits have crept in a bit. I always get cocky as soon as I start making progress! No staying power, that's my problem.

I'm now down to 11'2 which is a bit above my half way mark. Shall I amend the excel for people wanting to carry on for another 8 weeks?

Who's still with us?

bodgersmash · 16/05/2019 16:57

@deadparrot I've been stuck here for a week or two. It's gone up again but never any lower....

You're halfway, that's fantastic. I know what you mean about letting things slide as you get closer to target though. You start feeling better, lose the fat bloated heifer feeling that caused you to start the whole thing and then before you know it a whole share bag of Milky Bar Buttons has gone 😂

I'm definitely up for another 8 weeks if you wouldn't mind extending the spreadsheet :)

@Oysterbabe @FrazzledCareerWoman @PhillipeFellope @VivaFrida and anyone else.... are you up for Challenge #2?

Oysterbabe · 16/05/2019 17:38

I am!

PhillipeFellope · 16/05/2019 22:03

I'm still here and definitely up for another 8 weeks! I've got 7 weeks till my cousins wedding but now, have 8 weeks till I am seen in swimwear in public (hot tub party with my mates) so am determined to be slim and have a new set of bathers for it!

I'm hovering between 10 stone on the nose and 10,1 still. I need to get another half stone off till my goal of 9,7. I'm trialling intermittent fasting two days a week although I might up it to three depending on how I go.

2lb off is ace bodge think how far you've come! You're doing so well. And deadparrot halfway mark is brilliant!! I'm really pleased for us all!

Oysterbabe · 17/05/2019 06:59

I've lost 0.8lbs this making me 11st 0.2lbs. I'm so frustrated, I was sure I'd see a 10 on the scales this week. I am still pleased though, 11 weeks since starting my new plan, 21lbs lost and there's only been 1 week where I haven't lost. 8.2lbs to goal.

Oysterbabe · 17/05/2019 07:03

6 more weigh ins before my holiday so really hoping to get to goal.

VivaFrida · 17/05/2019 14:51

Definitely interested in another 8 weeks challenge - my interim goal was 59.0kg by May 22 and I got to 59.1 last week, and then because of one thing and another weight went up to 60.3 - now back down at 59.2 and I want to lose this last smidgeon so much!! My next goals would be:

  • 57 kg by June 20 when I am going to a wedding abroad
  • 56 kg (final goal) by July 26 when I am off to the US (for work/holiday).

So I'd be up for another 8 week challenge which should see me (hopefully) near my final goal!

deadparrot · 17/05/2019 15:40

Hi everyone, I've updated Oysterbabe's marvellous exel sheet and here it is, as the same place as before:
docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1iddv7b3qTN-MO_h9pKoTPqS_T1kA6xV9Q7COu3jrm_U/edit?usp=drivesdk

I've added in the names of everyone I think wants to continue but please do add yourself in if I've left anyone out, and can everyone can add in their own stats? I'm going to start my new week on Monday so am holding off on weight till then.

Oh yes and bodger you are right, that's exactly it - am no longer a bloated heifer and don't actually disgust myself any more, but I still don't fit into a lot of my clothes and I'm still in the overweight BMI range so I know I'm still not finished. I know it doesn't sound very positive but do I need try on my old clothes daily to stop me feeling too pleased with myself?! Any tips, people?

Have a lovely weekend everyone, and onwards and upwards (or hopefully, downwards when it comes to the numbers) xx

Oysterbabe · 17/05/2019 15:50

Perfect, thanks.

VivaFrida · 18/05/2019 15:31

Excellent, I have recorded my weight: 58.5kg today so looks like I am finally out of the plateau and have just smashed the 59kg by May 22 target!!

VivaFrida · 18/05/2019 15:35

That was meant to say "thank you deadparrot!! Flowers

VivaFrida · 18/05/2019 15:40

And deadparrot I know exactly what you mean about complacency - that just happened to me a couple of weeks ago, I thought 'oh I'm 59 kg, all downhill from here' and started having domino's etc.... I have no tips just empathy!

Oysterbabe · 20/05/2019 15:45

Well done Viva! That's great.
How's everyone doing?

I had a bad weekend foodwise (as usual) but did get out for a run. Only 5k but it felt really good.

deadparrot · 20/05/2019 16:10

Well done for the run oyster! After my week of getting worse and worse I let rip yesterday - double portions of lemon meringue pie, I have no shameBlush But only gained a couple of lbs which I'm sure will be gone soon and now it's our new 8 weeks am back On It. Need to lose 12lb in 8 weeks, think I can manage it - with your help! X

Oysterbabe · 23/05/2019 21:50

Sometimes you need to let rip Grin

Weigh in tomorrow. I think I'm going to finally see a 10 on the scales. I'm so excited 😂

KittyWindbag · 24/05/2019 06:18

I’m joining! I have 8 weeks until a big family reunion and I want to look fantastic. I have one stone / about 6kg left to lose.

Oysterbabe · 24/05/2019 06:19

2.4lbs off. That's 23lbs in the last 12 weeks and 37lbs in total gone. I'm now 10st 11.8lbs. 6lbs until I have a healthy BMI Smile
