Hi everyone

I have a lot of weight to lose and really really struggling. Have been on so many diets I have lost count and never seem to be able to stick to anything. I have realised that today it is exactly 8 weeks until I go on holiday and I had really wanted to lose weight and feel better about myself before then and suddenly it's coming round so quickly so I'm hoping that will help motivate me. Is anyone else interested in challenging themselves to lose as much as they can in that time??

xx

How did you do your egg whites and spinach dancemom? Daft question I know but I tried the same thing today and it was vile, I made DH have it and I had half a tin of soup and a wholemeal pitta instead Grin

We're having bulgar wheat and minced turkey with spinach, spring onion and bell pepper cooked in. Bit of paprika, salt and pepper and it's lovely. And then I'll add a few tomatoes, 1/4 avocado and some cold sweetcorn on the side.

My sis has cancelled on the gym as she's shattered so DH said we can do something at home.

Cinderbelly · 25/03/2019 17:43

Can I join you all please?
I have recently given up smoking and would like to slim down and get healthier. 8 is weeks time will be roughly 3 months after my quit date... I'm planning to spend the money I have saved in those 3 months on a tattoo, would be great if I had a summer body to show the tattoo off with as well!

I'm 5'8 and weigh 86kg. Would like to get to 70kg - that's about 30lb I think? Probably not possible in 8 weeks Grin would be happy with 10lb loss in 8 weeks.

dancemom · 25/03/2019 20:18

@PhillipeFellope I sometimes use one whole egg and 2 egg whites or just three egg whites, I like spinach for flavouring and lots of salt and pepper but TBH for me it's just fuel to get me through the morning, not a fav meal or anything!

I did a short weights session tonight and am planning a gym session tomorrow.

Tanaqui · 25/03/2019 20:27

I recommend wilting the spinach with a few chopped cherry tomatoes (the liquid means no need for oil) in a non stick pan. Then add the eggs and scramble (I use whole eggs as the yolks are good for you even though it adds calories). This is also nice with onion/red pepper/chilli/mushroom, all of which are really good for you and add bulk for very few calories!

VivaFrida · 25/03/2019 20:29

Hi! I'd like to join this please.

My weigh in day is Wednesday and 8 weeks will take me to 22 May. I am giving a paper at a work conference on May 21 and I'd like to look good at the lectern!!

Ideally I would like to lose 8kg in 8 weeks.

I am 67kg now and 8kg would take me to 59kg, which is very near to my ideal weight of 56 kg.

Good luck to us all!

Oldtiger · 25/03/2019 20:36

Me please! I lost 1 stone with Slimming World but stopped after Christmas and although I’ve only gained 3lb my BMI is 25 and I’d love it to be more like 24. I am so good until I drive back from work, stop at the petrol station and pick up a bar of chocolate or even worse, mini eggs! How can I satisfy my sweet cravings?!

UserN0me · 25/03/2019 20:36

I’d like to join please. I need to weigh myself properly but I think I need to lose two stone before summer

dancemom · 25/03/2019 22:07

@Oldtiger I recommend frozen grapes and curly wurly bars cut into quarters

PhillipeFellope · 25/03/2019 22:38

Thanks dancemom mine looked like old, sad cottage cheese with wilted garden in Grin I think I'll stick with full eggs and use the yolk as a good fat. I'm sticking with full fat Greek yoghurt too.

I did I little resistance band workout with DH but I'm dying to get on a cross trainer and just sweat Grin

I've frozen some blueberries and raspberries, I've got some frozen mango as a snack too which i love.

hopl · 25/03/2019 22:46

I would please like to join!

Today was meant to be my starting day however that went downhill when I had a Jaffa cake..which turned into multiple Jaffa cakes, pork pies, chocolate and friesBlush

DangerMouse17 · 25/03/2019 22:51

I will join too if you don't mind...starting tomorrow. I'm 172lbs and really ought to be about 132 Sad

I'm going to try and focus on moving more...so doing exercise every single day to get myself consistent. I find if I exercise I eat better as it motivates me to fuel myself properly.

Sleep is also a big factor I think. If I'm tired I eat crap, so will try to get a solid 7hrs minimum (rather than the shoddy 5 or 6 I currently get).

cherrysky · 26/03/2019 05:01

Well, what an absolute disaster yesterday was for me!

I forgot to weigh myself to get a starting point and then I just ate all day long.

I'm feeling really pissed off with myself so today I am going to try much much harder. I will post my weight in a bit when I get on the scales.

Hope everyone else has been good.

Krman · 26/03/2019 07:29

Hi guys

I hope you don’t mind me joining a day late! I’ve just measured in at 70.4kg and 31.5% body fat! I’m 5 ft 7 and need a serious kick up the backside!

Good luck all!

twopintsprick · 26/03/2019 07:46

Hi - I'd also like to join ... currently 95kg and hating myself for it. I've gone back to my old Personal trainer who is killing me every Sunday and I am meant to be losing 1kg a week but struggling.

Taking DD to Disneyland Paris at the end of May and I don't want to be worrying about whether or not I'll fit into the little kiddy rides 😳 I've got 9 weeks - I should be able to do 8kg by then.

Good luck everyone 💪

FookMeFookYou · 26/03/2019 07:52

I'm in! Only just seen the thread but not breakfasted yet so starting today. I'm not saying how much I weigh because frankly it's disgusting. So I'm just going to aim to lose as much as I can over the 8 weeks. Are we checking in with losses weekly on this thread? P.s. My spin bike arrived yesterday 😁

idoliketobebesidethesea · 26/03/2019 08:13

Hi am I too late? I lost three stones a few years ago and two of them have snuck up again...stopped smoking eight weeks ago and snacking like a maniac. Just weighed and I'm 13 stone 6 lbs 🤦‍♀️

PhillipeFellope · 26/03/2019 08:20

I haven't got any scales Fook But it's payday Friday and amazon prime exists for a reason Grin

I've woken up feeling much less bloated, my goal today is to drink more water and take my ds on a bike ride/walk (I'll be walking, he'll be on his balance bike) I was still striding up and down at 9:30pm last night trying to get 10K steps in Grin

Strawberries and yoghurt for breakfast shortly.

whothefuckhas5children · 26/03/2019 08:29

VivaFrida I’m the same weight as you with roughly the same goals!
Currently 66.9kg and want to be 58kg. I think about 60-62kg by the end of May is realistic for me. The rest can come off in June.

cherrysky · 26/03/2019 08:35

Just weighed myself and my starting weight is 10st 11.5

I'm not very tall so every pound shows, especially on my belly.

It's a beautiful day today and the sun is shining, have decided to try and sort the garden out a bit.

I just need to distract myself.

Hello to the newbies, good luck today Grin

Bobcatcornea · 26/03/2019 08:41

Can I join please? I haven't got that much left to lose, it's just the last stone I've been struggling with. I've managed to lose half of that in the last month so hoping it can continue. I'd love to lose another half a stone in the next 8 weeks. Have cut out most dairy products, all wheat products and a few other things (low fodmap elimination diet due to IBS).

VivaFrida · 26/03/2019 10:31

Hi whothefuckhas5children! (btw, interesting name) That's great, we can be challenge buddies. I think you are right to set a goal of 60-62 by the end of May. 1kg per week is rather ambitious, considering hormones, body doing its own thing, etc. When is your WI day and what plan are you following? I am following an old WW plan, which is rather more restrictive than the new freestyle with 'free' foods but works better for me as I am a bit of a control freak [embarrassed]. (Oh, and I have 2 children but I have a couple of friends who have 5 for the same turn of events: planned to have 2, 3rd kid accident, wanted a 4th 'for balance' and last pregnancy was... twins! So that's my story of mums with 5 kids).

FookMeFookYou I have a fake bike too and I love it! I use it nearly everyday!

Best of luck to all Smile

whothefuckhas5children · 26/03/2019 10:58

VivaFrida all mine were surprises ShockWink
I’m doing mindful eating, a little exercise and calorie control on MyFitnessPal.

I weigh every day to keep myself in check - I find that if it was only once a week I can fluctuate dramatically after the weekend and I could lose faith altogether. But my official weigh in day is a Friday.

VivaFrida · 26/03/2019 11:44

whothefuckhas5children hahahaha You have 5 children!! Honestly sometimes I think I have had a sense of humour bypass, I thought yours was an earnest question and I was answering you! I am dim!! ROFL!!!

My WI is Wednesday (tomorrow, eeeek!) I weigh myself once a week otherwise I tend to get obsessed with the scales/ numbers/weight loss etc.

I do a fair amount of exercise, I have a past in long distance running (I do not mean 5k, I mean ultramarathon) and enjoy/can take quite a lot. It helps me with my MH as well. At the moment I am walking/doing machines/aerobics but I hope, as I get down to a reasonable weight, to take up running again, although I am not sure if I want to go back to run the distances I used to run before. We shall see. I am trying to enjoy the journey.

Bobcatcornea · 26/03/2019 12:06

I've just weighed and I'm around the same as some of you I'm 61 kg. I'd like to be around 56-57 kg.

VivaFrida · 26/03/2019 12:38

Hey Bobcatcornea - welcome! Not much to lose for you!! Congrats! Last push!! Grin
