I am starting a diet tomorrow, anyone care to join me.

I need to shift at least two and a half stone of lard, I feel hideous.

@moan ranger hope you feel ok now. Always a plus side to the dentist usually can't eat afterwards. @peachtee yea I think I need to invest in a fitbit. My halo is firmly on my head this week and I have been really good with my food. Determined halo shall not slip! Over half way through week and I am visualising the skinny jeans I'm going to buy when this weight has gone. Happy hump day!

Moanranger · 27/02/2019 12:16

Hi, all, good recovery from the root canal, not much pain at all (except to wallet!)
Food plan today Breakfast = porridge,
Lunch = minestrone, broccoli salad, fruit & yogurt,
Dinner = jackfruit burger & cauliflower mash
Snacks, sugar free jelly, more fruit & yogurt if hungry, Halo ice cream, 1/4 tub is 80 cals. Went to Pilates this morning & will do a bit of gardening later.

MillieMoodle · 01/03/2019 07:02

Sorry I've been AWOL, busy week at work. Have mostly managed to avoid snacks. Have started swimming once a week with a friend, I managed 30 lengths on Tuesday which I was pleased with as I haven't done any swimming for donkeys years. Aiming for 40 lengths next week. I was surprised I could move the next day, but I was fine!

Had a sneaky couple of weigh ins this week and am back down to 12st this morning which was my starting point. Happy with that so far as the six pounds which went on last week have gradually come off again over this week!

Well done to everyone for keeping going!

camdenchips · 01/03/2019 07:20

Morning, sorry I haven't posted for a few days. I've just been really busy with work and stuff so just catching up.

I have been pretty good to be honest. I can't believe that it will be three weeks of dieting on Sunday. Just wish that there was a quick fix and I could wake up thin!

Had coffee with mum yesterday (no cake) and she said that I don't look as bloated and she can see a difference so that made be happy.

Have a good day, keep at it.

Moanranger · 01/03/2019 18:23

Not a great couple of days - birthday yesterday, but got too tired, so went off piste - as I always do when tired. Oh, if I could only have a simpler life!
I just need a good night’s sleep & I will feel better.
I did my first official WI yesterday, so Thurs will be my day. I had put on 5 lbs since Oct ( due to tooth problems limiting what I could eat plus some comfort eating as felt sorry for myself)
Now too th is sorted, amazing improvement so quick. No excuses.
Good luck all, onwards & downwards -weightwise!

How come I hate my body so much yet can't stop eating?!

Think I may have to swap to slimming world so I can stop being hungry and ruining it all!

PocketFullOfCrap · 02/03/2019 19:33

...that sounded like a plug- I just meant I keep eating as little as possible to keep cals down then get so hungry I stuff my face by late afternoon. And I just have a constant ache to eat cake and pastry and choc and I don't know how to dull it. It's worse than the crave from when I stopped smoking SadAngrySad

2018anewstart · 03/03/2019 08:50

2lb off this morning. So back to where I was 2 weeks ago. 0/30. Realised what an uphill struggle this journey is going to be as have exercised more and ate well this week. By writing it down it has made me aware of how little food we actually need and how much I was overeating. Also am going to have to ensure I exercise to lose. Am determined though. Definitely havent drunk enough water this week. So this and exercise is my goal for this week as I think logging food onto my fitness planner is working for the diet side.
@milliemoo swimming sounds fab hope your six pounds has come off @Camden so glad you are starting to see the difference in the way you look and feel..always a good sign! @moanranger hope you have had a good week now your tooth is sorted. @pocketfullofcrap we've all been there we binge eat. I think it's tge downfall of mist dieters. For me food is an addiction just like nicotine or drugs to others. There us a book by zoe Harcombe which explains it all. It really made sense to me. I followed that diet for a few weeks a couple of years ago and my sugar cravings went. Feeling like that at the moment I just know for me I have to go cold turkey in the sweet stuff as once I start I can't stop! Sorry for the essay off to boil some eggs!

camdenchips · 03/03/2019 09:14

Week 3 weigh in

I have lost 3 lbs

11/34

I can't believe that I have managed to stay on track for three whole weeks. This is most unlike me. Usually I will lose a couple of pounds and then stuff my face because I've lost a couple of pounds! Healthy eating is starting to feel normal to me and the chocolate cravings have pretty much stopped. Everyday I keep expecting to fall off the wagon but so far so good.

You are all doing so well sticking with it, thanks for staying with me.

Hi, all.Food plan for day now written & being followed. I am now doing swap outs-put a microscopic amount of cheese on my bean burrito & putting a squeeze of lime on my fruit salad instead of yogurt.
Pocket I have done that. Don’t restrict yourself so much - be sure there is lots of fibre in all your meals. Sugar craving will pass, be sure you are getting enough protein. Your body will re-set.I agree with 2018 and Zoe Harcombe has recipes that will cut your cravings fast. Keep at it!
Camden Awesome, you are my hero - what are your top three tips?

2018anewstart · 03/03/2019 14:23

@camden that is amazing. Would you be able to give us an example of a typical days food? It's obviously working for you. Also what exercise do you do each week. Almost a stone in 3 weeks is bloody brilliant! @moan ranger you sound as if you are on the zone. Small changes=big rewards! Come on @pocket stay with us and anyone else I haven't mentioned. Xxx

PocketFullOfCrap · 03/03/2019 14:25

Well done Camden!

Week 2 And +2lb so 0/34

Been reading all sorts of articles since posting last night and decided I will literally take it one day at a time from now on.
And will now do and have a look at this Zoe lady's food!

Nicecupofcoco · 03/03/2019 17:35

Hi all! I've had a rubbish couple of days food wise, but well done everyone! Camden that's a great loss!
Pocket I'm struggling too, seems to be similar to you, I'm good all day and crave chocolate at night!
It's so hard! Sad

Nicecupofcoco · 03/03/2019 17:38

I have been keeping up with exercise each day though so guess that's one good thing! Just wish I could stop craving the sweet stuff when I've had a good day or two.

2018anewstart · 03/03/2019 19:39

@Coco and @pocket the book is called why do you overeat when you want to be slim by zoe harcombe. It's cheap as chips on amazon. £1.48 for a used copy. It's a bit scientific but it makes sense. My cravings have come back today and I have succumbed to some cookies. However I logged them onto my fitness pal and have only eaten 1600 calories which is over what I should but it had stoppedal me reaching for more. Bath and early night for me tonight to stop me eating.

Nicecupofcoco · 03/03/2019 22:36

Thank you 2018!

MissingPanda · 04/03/2019 21:46

Well I weighed today expecting a complete disaster as I've binged over the weekend. Came as a complete surprise to find I now weigh 11st 12.2lb, a loss of 1.8lb so that's 12.4/32.6.

This week I'll be looking to maintain at best. I'm on annual leave and out with dd tomorrow and we're doing sushi and possibly Kaspa's afterwards. Come in under my calories today so that's a good start.

Camden well done! 3lb is brilliant.

Pocket I sympathise with the cravings. I had them all weekend hence the binge. Taking it one day at a time is a good idea. Agree with ranger too. Don't be too restrictive, better to lose a small amount each week than ending up giving up because you keep binging. Those small numbers will soon add up.

PocketFullOfCrap · 04/03/2019 23:40

Wow some great losses! I've been on the bad side of ok today, wasn't a complete failure but tons of room for improvement, I did however manage to do 20k steps!! Which I'm well happy with and I don't feel anywhere near so bad as I would have been feeling! Pic to prove and show off a teeny bit Grin

Diet Buddies Wanted
MissingPanda · 04/03/2019 23:51

Well done Pocket! Grin You've done over three times as many as what I managed today.

PocketFullOfCrap · 07/03/2019 11:09

Ok so I've done 20,11 and 16k steps so far this week so exercise wise I've got my butt in gear...I have however just eaten a whole Easter egg(damn Tesco) and it's lady time, I'm poorly, ds started a new school on mon, dds broken leg is causing problems and did I say I'm poorly? Chocolate is my friend!

PocketFullOfCrap · 08/03/2019 11:45

How's everyone been getting on this week?

Nicecupofcoco · 08/03/2019 19:52

Ive had a mixed bag this week! Good and bad days, but been keeping up with the exercise! Smile

MissingPanda · 09/03/2019 10:43

Complete and utter disaster would be the best way to describe this week. Fresh start on Monday, asthma review in the morning and back in work in the afternoon so won't have as much time on my hands.

2018anewstart · 10/03/2019 13:11

Hi everyone sorry I haven't checked in. Been eating like a pig this week. Completely back to my old ways. .the piggy eating has continued this morning. However just been out for a short run so feeling better. Haven't put in any weight so am sill 0/30. Next week am determined to be 1/30! Anyone else still on track.
