I am starting a diet tomorrow, anyone care to join me.

I need to shift at least two and a half stone of lard, I feel hideous.

Not as bad as it sounds. I work 3 - 10.30pm, then a sleep. Start again at 7.30am - 3 in this house then go next door and do a 3 - 9 shift. I'm used to it and it's usually easier to do a long day then the two shifts over two days.

I did have chips today but only a few. Well done on resisting them. I do have until Monday to weigh.

PocketFullOfCrap · 24/02/2019 08:16

Week 1 -1.4/33 happy with that as I've struggled every other day!

2018anewstart · 24/02/2019 08:22

You lot sound like you're doing awesone. You are putting me to shame. Hi chaos welcome! Just weighed absolutely gutted but have put on 2lb! I had done so much better than usual all week but realise I am still eating too much. However didn't think I would put on! Realise I need to start exercising as well as food is not going to do it for me alone. Plan today 2 litres water scrambled egg on 2 ryvita, tuna salad and homemade vegetable soup with fruit for snacks. Short run and a walk. Can't wait to hear your results! -2/30

2018anewstart · 24/02/2019 08:23

Well done @pocket that is fab.

PocketFullOfCrap · 24/02/2019 10:17

I wouldn't read too much into the gain if you have been behaving, it usually sorts itself out by the next week but most people give up so they don't see it.

MillieMoodle · 24/02/2019 10:19

Well done everyone. I have not had a good week. I have put on SIX pounds. Six! WTAF?! I've moved more than usual and eaten less than usual. I can only think that TOTM is coming up in the next couple of days so it's something to do with that. My weight can vary drastically from day to day, but six pounds is ridiculous. I didn't weigh in first thing either so I might try again tomorrow and hope for a better result. I'm going to hide now because I am feeling very embarrassed Sad

PocketFullOfCrap · 24/02/2019 10:46

That's clearly not right!

I've just weighed after ahem..a number 2 and it's now 2lb on the dot! So I'm going with that one!

Week 1 -2lb/34 Grin

Hi, I'm planning on weighing Saturday morning. Yesterday I was not good, ate a lot of chocolate and a piece of cake. I'm trying the no s diet. My sister is on it and she's lost weight over a long period of time as it's not very restrictive. It's no snacks, no seconds, no sweet except for Saturday, Sunday and special occasions. However, my sis said at the beginning she went overboard at the weekend, eating anything, and it only worked when she didn't have all the s'es at the weekend. So tomorrow I will start properly. I did c25k this morning with the dog and the weather is lovely so we've been out for a walk and picnic (meal deal pasta salad and smoothie). And we'll walk again soon. Anyone do slimming world? I believe it's the NHS recommended diet for breastfeeding, so am contemplating going.

MillieMoodle · 24/02/2019 14:02

Well done @PocketFullOfCrap every little helps!

So far today I've had 2 slices of toast, butter and jam for breakfast. Corned beef sandwich, tomato and 3 cocktail sausages for lunch. No snacks. Not sure about dinner yet. Back to work tomorrow after a lovely few days off so we might go out for dinner to round off half term.

Off out to wash the car shortly - the sunshine is lovely and hopefully I'll burn some calories too!

Am starting going swimming on Tuesday evenings with a friend so that will help towards doing some exercise.

Also I've realised that I need to eat much slower. I'm used to eating really, really quickly as when DS1 was a baby/toddler, he would wake up every night as soon as DH and I sat down to eat dinner. I hope if I eat a lot slower, I'll feel full quicker and so won't overeat.

Peachteeshirt · 24/02/2019 14:42

@milliemoodle eating too quickly is absolutely another one of my downfalls (there’s quite a list - late night eating, missing breakfast etc).

Great to see the losses.

Weighed myself this morning- Week 1: 2/39

Spent the afternoon gardening so I’m hoping that’s going to help burn some fat.

Hope you all having a lovely weekend.

@camden thanks for setting this group up

Nicecupofcoco · 24/02/2019 15:16

Well done all! I don't actually own scales, so gonna have to get some, but in the meantime I'll use mums when I go visit this week.
I've not had a couple of snacks today which I shouldn't have, so gonna try and get some exercise in and have a light tea! X

2018anewstart · 24/02/2019 16:00

Well done every one on your losses..amazing! Normally after putting on weight i would have run to the food cupboard but you lot have inspired me. Some sushi, 2 boiled eggs and a really long walk so far today. Stick with it @milliemoo you will get there! Yes Thanks@Camdenchips for starting this post. It us keepin me going . Xxx

MissingPanda · 24/02/2019 21:12

On my way home from work finally.

Well done to those who lost.

Don't give up those who didn't. Keep at it and it will happen.

Moanranger · 25/02/2019 10:01

Well done all you losers - very inspiring!
I learned this weekend that I MUST plan & write it down, goes completely pear-shaped when I don’t.
I started today with a 45 min walk that gives me 5000 steps by 8:45. Planning to walk a min of 3 times, max 5 times a week. The 45 min one is the shortest, I have longer routes.
Planned out today, but having root canal tomorrow, not sure what I will be able to eat. That minestrone soup recipe is calling....

2018anewstart · 25/02/2019 12:03

@moanranger sounds like you have had a good start start to the week with the exercise. I downloaded my fitness pal last night by logging on there I have realised how much I have been eating even when I think I've been good! Going to plan my shopping like you as well for week later. A day off today so have this morning on whilst cleaning. Holly figure and wardrobe is inspiring me!

MissingPanda · 25/02/2019 14:33

Weigh in day for me today. I have to say I've decided I like Boot's scales. They've weighed me at 11st 14lb instead of 12st 😂😂 Either way it's a loss of 3.1lb from last week.

moanranger sounds like you're in the right frame of mind for this which helps.

2018 I remember when I first downloaded mfp being shocked at the number of calories in some foods/meals.

MissingPanda · 25/02/2019 15:08

Oops forgot to add week 4: 10.6/32.6.

2018anewstart · 25/02/2019 18:56

That is fab @amazing panda. Love the boots scales!

PocketFullOfCrap · 26/02/2019 11:40

Mfp definitely highlights things u didn't realise doesn't it!

I've been a bit pooo with food but I'm posting a screenshot as I'm proud of how many steps I did! 18k!

2018anewstart · 26/02/2019 12:07

🌟 gold star for you @pocket awesome. Now I'm on MFP think I need a step counter next.

MissingPanda · 26/02/2019 12:33

Thanks 2018 am definitely loving the Boot's scales.

Pocket brilliant 🎉🥇🥇

Peachteeshirt · 26/02/2019 12:52

@pocket wow that’s a lot of steps - you’ve inspired me...I’ve just ordered myself a Fitbit and signed up for 26 mile walk in a few months 😬

@2018 I need to find a set of scales like that!!

Moanranger · 26/02/2019 14:59

Root canal done this morning, but half my face & most of my tongue still numb. The dentist only gave me one jab, but it must have been strong! Procedure rather quick. Eating limited due to numbness, tricky even swallowing, so I have had a powdered diet drink & some hummus so far. Hopefully there will be no residual pain, tho I am taking neurogenic as a precaution. Can hardly speak & need to make phone calls Sad
