Hi, I'm on a weight loss journey too, have been most of my adult life! Am heaviest I've been without being pregnant! I need to lose at least 3st. Does Orlistat work? Thanks

2018anewstart · 27/03/2019 16:38

Hi mummy I don't low about orlistart. The harcombe diet is putting my cravings at bay at the moment. I'm 2 and a half stone too heavy!

PocketFullOfCrap · 28/03/2019 07:08

Hi, I've no experience with orlistat either I'm afraid, maybe search to see if there's any threads about it..then come back here and we can all cheer each other on!

I struggled yesterday and shared some cheesy chips and coleslaw which I've no idea how many Syns but I walked loads yesterday so least that's something

Hope everyone is getting on ok

Moanranger · 28/03/2019 17:14

Mummy Orlistat over-rated, I think. It makes me fill ill.
So a day of apples not good, &I am not so sure about munching apples, they give me a mild sugar rush & also clog me up. Today I had a long drive & a big gap between breakfast & lunch (8:30 to 3:15) but I just toughed it out & got an iced Americano to break up trip. This worked. My preference is to break habit of eating full stop while driving.
I think I have lost a bit, will see next week. Tweaking the regime a bit, more protein & less fruit, no added sugar & no booze. Am allowed 3 drinks a week, but I am avoiding for now.

2018anewstart · 28/03/2019 22:46

Harcombe diet phase 1 seems to be working! Can't blooming believe it.. My sugar cravings have vanished.. the only thing I'm missing is milk in my tea and coffee. Only 1 more day left on phase 1 but think I will carry on with it for a bit longer as I'm not struggling with it. Can't wait to weigh saturday. Stick at it ladies. Xxx

2018anewstart · 30/03/2019 06:42

Just weight after finishing phase 1 of harcombe diet...only 5 days..and I've lost... drum roll please ..6.5lbs!!!! I can't believe it! So blooming pleased. Think it would have been more but I did put milk in my coffee for last 2 days. Going to stay on phase 1 for a few more weeks as it has been ok. This has all been done with no additional exercise. And my cravings for sweet things have gone or I can control them. I feel like I have my life back.I really hope tge rest of you gutmys have had a goid week..if you're struggling with cravings and binge eat I can recommend this. It's restrictive with foods but not paeticularly tough as you dont feel hungry and get those cravings fir sweet things.

MissingPanda · 30/03/2019 09:05

Well done 2018! That's brilliant! 😁😀

I've not been on here for a while. I had a disastrous week a few weeks ago but managed to get back on track the last couple of weeks. I'm currently 11st 13lb (weighed Monday) which is a sts from the previous week. Atm the Boots' scales I normally use are broke so I've been using the other Boots but they still have the old scales which only weigh in whole lbs. I'm hoping the new ones will be fixed soon. A few weeks ago I lost 900g and although I felt a bit disappointed at least I could see a loss.

Hope every one else is doing well. Even if not keep going it'll happen.

2018anewstart · 31/03/2019 14:25

Nice to have you back missing panda. Hope you are all having a lovely mothers day! Xxx

PocketFullOfCrap · 31/03/2019 20:27

I've drank too much wine

Nicecupofcoco · 31/03/2019 20:57

Oh Pocket me too! And also scoffed myself silly!
Not destined to get this weight off, I've no will power!

PocketFullOfCrap · 31/03/2019 21:43

No, me neither, dd won't sleep and I just can't function when I'm tired!

It's also lady time when I'm not even due so just want to eat the fridge and be done with it!

PocketFullOfCrap · 31/03/2019 21:44

Ps...I'm proud I typed that with one eye closed

Moanranger · 31/03/2019 22:08

Well done 2018 Yes, I think Harcombe is a sound approach & I think sugar is the root of all evil.
I have just finished day 10. I don’t officially weigh til Thurs, but it is going better, I really struggled for the first 5 days, but not so much now. I am supposed to regularise my eating & specifically eat breakfast earlier, but I struggle with that. Today I woke at 9 & had my first meal at 12:30. I had “lunch” at 3:30, then dinner at 7:15. I could almost but not quite do a6:18 diet. I am allowed 3 drinks per week, but have decided to only have one - booze = empty calories & is basically converted into sugar. Will post after I weigh in.

MissingPanda · 31/03/2019 22:49

Thanks 2018 Smile

I've been okay today but not the healthiest. I was under my total calorie allowance but did have a small piece of chocolate cake for breakfast.

Moan I wouldn't worry too much about breakfast times. Just do what suits you, at least for now.

Pocket and Coco tomorrow is a new day.

MissingPanda · 02/04/2019 19:18

Couldn't weigh in yesterday as the scales weren't working in both of the Boots' stores. I managed to get to another Boots this morning and luckily the scales were working. I weighed in at 11st 11lb, a loss of 2lbs, really pleased with that.

How's everyone else doing?

PocketFullOfCrap · 02/04/2019 19:33

I'm skipping weigh in this week as I know I can't take it, I'm still having my monthly so wouldn't be a true one anyway.

I'm doing well though, I've got a freezer full of soups and I have been logging again on mfp. So that's a win!

MissingPanda · 02/04/2019 20:59

All positive steps pocket. Keep taking it one step at a time and it will happen.

Nicecupofcoco · 03/04/2019 18:46

Well done panda and pocket!
I've had a good couple of days, and yesterday managed a 45 minute exercise dvd whilst lo slept!
Hope it continues! Trying hard!

Moanranger · 05/04/2019 01:27

I had my first weigh in today, have lost 4 lbs in two weeks. A good start, and not feeling particularly hungry. My eating has regularised & choices are good. Still sticking to 1 drink a week, I had red wine this evening.
Meeting with Diet coach interesting & thought provoking.Much for me to ponder. I will meet her again in a fortnight. No outings/parties until Easter, so few temptations. Onward...

MissingPanda · 05/04/2019 10:21

Well done moan you're doing really well.

Moanranger · 05/04/2019 13:03

Thanks, Panda. My discussion with coach yesterday is resonating. As my own business-owner, I am in the decidedly mixed position of having to manage 5 staff, and what fun that is - not! Afyrt yet another phone call from a staff member, I had this overwhelming desire to eat something. I didn’t, but at least I made the connection.
I wish they would leave me alone. They won’t. Must learn to ignore.

Nicecupofcoco · 12/04/2019 21:06

Hi guys!
How you all doing?
I've not been too bad this week, downloaded a calorie counting app, feel it's helped loads, so doing about 1380 a day but some days going just over!
Hope you've all had a good week! Smile

2018anewstart · 12/04/2019 21:30

Hi everyone. Hope you are doing ok. I'm back on he sugar..😟 but have managed to keep my 6.5 lbs off. Back on it tom! Xx

HaydenAteMyHamster · 13/04/2019 00:24

Hello, new to MN so not sure how this works! I'm 4' 7'' and really struggle to know what weight is healthy cos' I'm below the 'normal' scale. I weigh around 7.4st and want to lose 3/4 stone. Happy to be a diet buddy if you like

Nicecupofcoco · 13/04/2019 06:35
