Hello all - I have not managed to post, trying to regain focus, partially successful. partially not
I have dropped a pound or so I think, but could be/should be more. I have purchased a couple of new recipe books in the hope of inspiring more focus next week. Including the new Michael Mosley book, which is probably a rehash of the one I have, but hoping it jumpstarts something.

Autumn you are doing amazingly! Well done.

QuimReaper · 25/01/2019 10:11

What the actual blazes?!

Apparently a STS for me.

I've eaten DUST this week, I've had three fast days! What the deuce!

I'm blaming the fancy new scales MrQuim bought himself for Christmas. They're an unknown quantity.

And I'm eating a grumpy crumpet.

Poney I was looKing at that book would you mind giving a review.

Hi all. After a great week last week I have fallen off the wagon face first. A combination of family visiting last weekend, a migraine which seems to make me crave sugar and some work stress have made this week a write off. The good news is I've only regained one of the 2lb I lost last week so I'm back on it now. Halo

I've got a big decision to make this weekend. I've been invited to a job interview on Wednesday. I don't know if I should go or not. I applied during a post-christmas grump and now it's all a bit scary and real! I hate making big decisions and big changes. Confused

I'm starting to wish I hadn't applied!

Autumnnymph · 25/01/2019 18:12

Hello all! Sorry for the silence the past two days - its been a bit rough emotionally (nothing drastic just life sometimes getting overwheleming and anxiety getting the better of me) - feeling much more better now.

@Hoola 2 inches since I last measured 1 of Jan.

@Quim I am the same with big decisions but many times change is really good for us - you don't lose anything going for the interview.

Weight wise i have been stuck at 56.8 which is very annoying as i have been eating very well AND drinking loads of water - NO carbs this week except what is naturally in veggies and fruit and the bloody scales wont budge. I am hoping it falls off in a big whoosh.

Going back to work next week will mean I naturally walk more and am more active so may be that will help? One can but hope.

I’m still at 8 stone 11. I’m at work all day today and tomorrow so no weekend wine for me, and no socialising. Boring for me, good for my waistline Grin Except I’m not sure when I’m going to get any exercise in.

Ah that is so annoying Quim! You must be due for a whoosh soon!

Hoola that ciabatta looks amazing! Is it complicated to make?

Kick well done on getting the interview and good luck making the decision!

Dashel · 26/01/2019 07:26

Kick go for the interview, you can always turn it down and if you don’t get it then you still have a job.

Keep going everyone, not every visit to the scale is going to be a loss.

However and I almost feel guilty for saying it, I lost nearly 2 pounds this week 🥳🥳🥳 I have visitors staying and we went out for dinner to the local pub and with limited veggie options I had egg and chips but we went for a walk afterwards.

I will need to be careful this weekend or next weekend I will be feeling very sad when I get on the scales

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 26/01/2019 07:37

Well done dashel. Great result.

Quim I'm sure you'll have a whoosh soon. How much are you trying to lose?

Thanks everyone. I've decided to go to the interview and give it my best shot and also ask lots of questions to make sure the job will suit me.

Next problem - what to wear!

Anyway I'm off to park run this morning but then out for lunch. Have a good day everyone.

Autumnnymph · 26/01/2019 09:25

I had a mini whoosh today - very weirdly after having a chilli cheese Dosa last night. I had friends drop by and rustled up some dosas for them and couldn’t resist one myself AND had a small glass of wine. Maybe my body wanted reassurance that it can still have the occasional indulgence before it would reward me with a loss?

Weighted in at 56.5 today so a mini whoosh of 300 gms but I am quite pleased about that.

1 kg lost this week.

Autumnnymph · 26/01/2019 17:11

@kick anytime you are in the neighborhood :D I love cooking and feeding others.

@kokoloco sorry I thought I replied to your shoe dilemma - my solution is simple - keep both :D

@kokoloco I actually sent mine back as well.
While they were comfy I have quite a few similar ones and couldn’t justify it. DH got me these Skechers ones and I have been living in them
This week Skechers Women's D'Lites-Bomb Cyclone Biker Boots, Grey (Charcoal Ccl), 5 (38 EU) www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07B4YVYGB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_-VktCbPB15J6N?tag=mumsnetforum-21

They even got me beautifully though icy walks.

Sneaks in to thread guiltily.

Hi! I have been utterly utterly rubbish. Have re-gained 10 and a half pounds. So so stupid.

But. I have now joined WW. My friend in Sydney joined and suggested I did so we can do it together. I’ve done it a few times before and It’s been quite successful for me in the past. So went to first meeting yesterday. Weighing in in the fat corner at 15st 4.5. I got down to 14st 8 in October I think. Blush and Angry

Have downloaded the app and started tracking. Used up half my weekly points on alcohol last night though. But still with permitted points so all is ok.

Menu plan done for the week. Soup planned here too for lunches. I like the idea of a soup week Autumn - sounds good.

Nice to see everyone again!

Hoolahoophop · 28/01/2019 12:53

Hi all I had a stay the same week. So extra effort needed this week. Why doi always seems have a reason/excuse to over eat.Confused

Spouriouser it's dangerously easy to make. Weigh, mix, leave an hour fold twice, repeat twice. Cut, shape and bake. Low effort yummy results. I'm making more tomorrow. Grin

Dashel · 28/01/2019 13:55

Hi Peridot

I feel your pain, I bounce from anywhere between 11st 3 to 11st 10 when I’m not watching my weight. Gaining and loosing the same pounds over and over again.

I think for me anyway, it really is thinking differently about food so that I accept that the junk food and treats are not normal foods and I am choosing not to want them than choosing not to eat them and feeling like I’m going without.

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 28/01/2019 21:10

Yes I've also stayed the same this week. Which is quite a good result considering what I've eaten!

I think I'm in hibernation mode! Keep warm everyone. Brew

Autumnnymph · 28/01/2019 21:56

I fell off the wagon Sunday afternoon and went over my calorie limit today as well. I did walk a lot today and am hoping to get back in track from tomorrow.
@kick I agree I seem to be hibernating as well.
I have booked a holiday for July in Crete so I NEED to get back in shape for that.

poorpaws · 28/01/2019 23:55

1 3/4 pounds off this week which makes a total of 5 3/4 pounds for the month. I was really hoping for the 7 pounds but not too bad.

I hope everyone has done well this January and looking forward to a good loss for all of us in February 🤞🏻God it gets boring doesn’t it.

Autumnnymph · 29/01/2019 06:34

@poorpaws well done -
That’s a good loss!

OP posts:
readyforsunshine · 29/01/2019 06:57

Morning all, you’re doing so well!
Very impressed with those going hardcore & completing park runs.
I am slightly up this week but 7lbs down over the month so am pleased to have made a good start. I have a stone to lose so am 1/3 of the way there.
I think I’ll keep on as I am & if I continue to stall will have to think about a few hardcore days in the second half of the coming month. Hoping to up my steps too now the days are a little longer.
Do you have any plans for Feb?

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 29/01/2019 09:03

Hello hello!

I’m definitely going to have to try that Hoola! It sounds delicious.

Poorpaws that’s a great loss, well done!

Welcome back Peridot! I’m sure you’ll get that off in no time once you’re back into the swing of things.

Readyforsunshine well done! 7lbs is brilliant! The thread title always references losing 7lbs in a month but I swear no one ever does, you should get some sort of a prize for actually doing it Grin

My weekend stuck at work had one benefit, I ate as if it was the middle of the week, no alcohol and no extra treats, and I’m down to 8 stone 10 as of this morning. Sadly I have a run of night shifts coming up, which always completely messes up my eating habits. I start off being mildy nauseous and having no appetite for the first couple of days, and then the sleep deprivation kicks in and I just want to eat chocolate. Not particularly healthy!

QuimReaper · 29/01/2019 10:23

Hello all! Welcome back Peridot - very annoying about the gain, but you sound very positive about getting it off. And sunshine 7lbs already is amazing!

Spurious the one good thing about weight loss is that when life gets in the way of your fun, you can usually find a silver lining! The night shift thing sounds tricky though, it must be so hard to self-regulate. Must also be hard not to really hit the caffeine to keep yourself going, and disturb what sleep you can get. My friend is a nurse and has taken up 5:2ing at my suggestion, and she just does fast days on her worst shifts to take the decision making out of it, but that sounds pretty hardcore!

Thanks all for your commiserations on last week's bust of a weigh-in. I am only trying to get 2kg off, which is why I'm so annoyed to be stalling - was sort of hoping to get a kilo off in January, and assumed I'd at least get into the next kg bracket, but apparently I've only lost 200g since my first weigh-in of the year on Jan 11th Confused. It's so demoralising when you give it a real extra push, and just end up with nothing to show for it. I hope you're all right that I'll have a mega whoosh on Friday and start February in a better place.

Hoola That looks amazing! I am tempted to ask for further instructions but fear it might be the top of a slippery slope! Grin
