Hello all , back on my feet today and have been ravenous and eating way too much. Last few days here in India - we fly back on sunday and the next two days are filled with lunch AND dinner out every day as cram in many social engagements.

I will have to make up for it next week! I have been trying to stay sensible but it’s sooo difficult!

I will be back on track next week and back to my 16:8 which has gone for a toss over the holidays here.

An egg fast sounds like hell Blush

I’ve had three ok but not perfect days this month. Need to crack the proverbial whip and get my head back in the game.

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 04/01/2019 09:47

Weighed in this morning at 9 stone 1lbs, so definitely going in the right direction. I’ve booked my first bodypump class of 2019 for tomorrow morning, I’m not looking forward to the aching afterwards, but I’m looking forward to exercising more regularly.

SimonSays an egg fast is where you only eat eggs (and I think cheese?) for a few days. A few people on this thread lost a fair bit of weight doing it several months ago. I don’t remember the exact rules though. I have been tempted to join in but I do 90% of the cooking in my household and my DP hates eggs, so I have no idea what I’d give him for dinner while I was on it Grin

Simonsaysitschristmas · 04/01/2019 09:51

Ooh I love eggs (and cheese) - sounds great but I don’t know if my mental willpower is that strong at the moment to restrict my diet that much

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 04/01/2019 10:28

I don't think I could cope with an egg fast but I have been having 2 eggs for breakfast each day this week. It's kept the cals down compared to my normal porridge and fruit.

I'm on day 3 of 1200 cals and no sugar. It's been easy enough to stick to. Last night I went out for a meal but just had a chicken shish kebab (without the rice) and some salad and houmous.

I have gained weight every day AngryBlush. Not loads but normally 3 days into no sugar low carb I lose a couple of easy lbs. I'm so annoyed.

I wonder if the breakfast eggs are bunging me up? (TMI sorry)

I'll persevere for a few more days. Otherwise I'll have to try something else.

HairsprayBabe · 04/01/2019 12:31

Yes egg fast is just eggs cheese and fat herbs and spices and a few dashes of condiments (hot sauce and mustard namely)

A day goes something like
2 scrambled eggs for breakfast
2 cheesy egg muffins for lunch
3 egg spicy cheese omelette
if I need snacks I have either cheese string babybel or a boiled egg

I do 5 days but on day 4 and 5 I add in some spinach or asparagus or broccoli to dinner

Ate a load of left over Christmas chocolate last night so so much for easing in gently!

ponygirlcurtis · 04/01/2019 13:12

Kick they might be, but just means your loss will show at some point so hang in there.

Wedding dress shopping is exciting Hairspray!

NanBoleyn · 05/01/2019 09:23

After a six month (!) gap I'm slinking back in...
Finally got up the courage to weigh myself- yes put on weight but on the positive side at least am not back to starting point last March! Was 10 stone 10, got down to 9 stone 1, now 9 stone 12. Bmi calculator puts me at top weight of 9 stone 7 so that's the first target.
Back on MFP and feeling in the right frame of mind again so here goes!
Good luck all..

Simonsaysitschristmas · 05/01/2019 13:02

Really losing the motivation to exercise, although I’m managing to stick to my calorie limits ok. Hope everyone has a successful weekend!

ponygirlcurtis · 06/01/2019 09:52

Welcome back Nan. I am starting the reset today and will be spending the day meal planning for the week and batch cooking (and putting it into MFP).

FATEdestiny · 06/01/2019 10:01

Hi there, I'm looking to move over from the 100lb loss thread. I lost 8 stone last year (17st 8.5 to 9st 9). Put on over Christmas and currently up to 10st 0.5. Ultimate aim is 8st 11, but in no rush to get there.

Simonsaysitschristmas · 06/01/2019 10:24

That is an amazing weight loss @FATE Shock I am dreaming of being in the 9s so if you want to share how you got there, please do Grin I’m sure you will get the Christmas gain off swiftly :)

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 06/01/2019 10:45

Wow FATE that is incredible. Well done. I'd also love to know how you did it. Do you have a plan for maintenance?

Well the scales moved this morning finally. Down 1lb to 11 4.8. Not much to show for 4 days of effort but it's a start.

I'm also batch cooking today. Curry, Bolognese and 2 x soups. What are you making pony?

Peridot1 · 06/01/2019 10:55

Hi all. I’m not quite back at it yet. Still eating all the food. All the food.

I have ordered some warm leggings and a coat to go walking. Went for a walk a week or so ago with a friend in my normal leggings and a warm but short jacket and I was so cold.

I weighed myself and am up half a stone since middle of October. So first goal is to shift that.

I’m starting again tomorrow. Properly. Have menu planned for the week. Will go for a walk. Will drink lots of water.

Hi FATE - welcome! I find your loss so inspiring since I came across you on other threads. Glad you are here!

Nuffaluff · 06/01/2019 11:03

Oh dear, I weighed myself this morning and haven’t lost anything yet. I seem to do really well until about 4pm, then start eating too much (trying to use up the Christmas cheese!)
Posting on here because I think it will motivate me because I can do it!
I’m aiming to be 2 lb lighter by this time next week (or should I just aim for 1lb?).

FATEdestiny · 06/01/2019 11:17

Thank you for the lovely welcome. I really didn't do anything special, just common sence in that everyone knows the stuff that's healthy and the stuff that isn't. I ate the healthy stuff.

I eat low fat and low carb (but not no fat and no carb). Most meals are low fat protein and vegetables. I rarely eat breakfast and don't snack. I have 7-10 veg portions a day. When I do have carbs they are wholegrain (jumbo oats, wholegrain rice or carbs from veg and pulses) rather than processed, so I don't eat bread, pasta, cakes, biscuits etc. When I do have fats I make sure it's not saturated or trans fats.

We have 4 children, so I cook in big quantities from scratch. It helps that family routine means we eat at the same time every day, week in and week out. Lunch at 12pm, dinner at 5.30pm every day. We all eat the same evening meal. The kids do have bread at lunchtime though.

I also run every day. But I don't link my running to weight loss since I think most weight loss comes from diet. I learnt to run in April by doing C25K and have run almost every day since then. I run for heart health, because my dog loves coming with me, and because I love the personal challenge of it. I'm trying for 300km / 10k per day in [[https://www.mind.org.uk/get-involved/donate-or-fundraise/red-january-faqs/?ctaId=/get-involved/donate-or-fundraise/take-on-an-active-challenge/run-for-mind/red-january/template-slices-1/red-january-faqs/#whatisred
RED January]].

ponygirlcurtis · 06/01/2019 11:47

Wow Fate, that's fantastic, bloody well done.

Peridot I am doing roasted veg and cauli rice to go with a bit of cooked chicken for my work lunches, and some lamb mince to have with roasted aubergine (a BSD recipe). And maybe some coated turkey breasts for the kids, I saw it on the new Tom Kerridge show and thought I would give it a go. And whatever else I think of to use up stuff in the fridge! I am pretty good at batch cooking for myself but I want to do more healthy stuff the kids will eat.

Just aim to be lighter Nuff. 1lb, 2lb, it's all in the right direction. I am not weighing for a few days to give myself a head start! 😆

Peridot1 · 06/01/2019 11:51

You make it seem so easy FATE but we all know it’s not so well done! Can you put a photo up of your spreadsheet? I think it is your methodical approach that really chimes with me.

I struggle as DS is a fussy eater. And DH is too to an extent although he would deny It! Actually he’s probably not fussy as much as knows what he likes and although we like a lot of the same things I like other stuff too. We end up in a rut. But we are planning on making a new meal every week this year.

FATEdestiny · 06/01/2019 12:10

This is 1st January 2017 up to September, when u got to BMI 25 which was my initial aim.

Since then I carried on losing but at a slower rate. Apart from the 2 weeks of Christmas when I put on loads. Back to a significant calorie deficit now, to get down to were I was before Christmas (9st 9). Then looking to keep only a slight calorie deficit longer term so get to my ultimate aim (half my original body weight - 8st 11) and the extra calories meaning I can up my running distances.

ponygirlcurtis · 06/01/2019 13:36

I love your approach too, Fate - the idea of setting yourself monthly non-weight health goals is great.

Simonsaysitschristmas · 06/01/2019 14:32

Wow Fate you should be super proud!

I went for a big walk this morning and smashed my 10000 steps which is good. Then we went out for lunch but I chose wisely and only spent 475 calories which I’m pleased about.

I have batch cooked a curry this morning, and I still have another curry and a bolognese to do but I might delay those until tonight or tomorrow depending on when I recover from this mornings walk Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 06/01/2019 16:46

Oh hello Slenderistas!

I've been awol since the summer sorry. Work got crazy busy and I lost you.

I have a stone to lose to get to my absolute final goal so 7lbs in January would be marvellous. I've already lost 4

May I slip back onto the thread please?

BitOutOfPractice · 06/01/2019 16:47

Oh, done familiar names Smile

leesmum · 06/01/2019 20:59

Hiya you lot, I've not been on these threads for a good few months and I know that this is absolutely THE best place to be for lots of advice and some hand holding if it's needed. Smile
I've put 4lbs on over Christmas, it's not loads but because I don't have a lot to lose I can feel it straight away.
