Had a cheeky weigh in at my brother in laws who has bought scales as part of his new year health focus AND I clocked in at 57.2 so thats a very minimal gain! I am not sure if its a blip but I was super pleased.

That said, we are all headed off to an amazing restaurant that lays a splendid all vegetarian buffet for lunch so all bets are off!

Hope everyone is having a great start to 2019!

Hello and a very happy new year to everyone. Thanks for the brand new thread. I hope everyone has got their wagons hitched and is ready.

No weigh in for me this morning because I am not at home but I weighed yesterday and was 11 5. Better that the 11 7 I got on boxing day but still a way to go.

Target one is 10 10 in time for a weekend away in March. That's 7lb in 2 months.

Plan is to get most of it out the way in January. I'll be using mfp set to 1200 cals, walking or running every day for at least 30 mins and no sugary snacks at all.

I've done it before and I can do it again.

ponygirlcurtis · 01/01/2019 09:39

Happy new year to all you fab people. Thanks for the new thread, I missed December altogether but want to start getting my focus back to get the festive poundage off (about 3.5lbs I think).

Got a big NY dinner at my mum's but plan to skip food till then as it will be a three-courser.

Here is to a positive 2019 for everyone. 🙂

Nuffaluff · 01/01/2019 10:26

Please can I join? I weighed myself this morning. I weigh 10 stone 6 lbs and would like to lose a stone altogether. 7 lbs sounds possible for me.
I’m doing dry January, will start going to the gym again and doing MFP.

Peridot1 · 01/01/2019 10:35

Happy new year all! I’m not quite back on it as still have family here but will be from Thursday.

I’ve been completely off track since I went to Australia in November. Dreading weighing! It won’t be pretty!

January’s plan is to do Dry January, walk for an hour every day (aiming for 1000 miles in 2019) and stick to 1600 calories a day. Trying to keep it simple.

Autumnnymph · 01/01/2019 10:46

welcome @nuffaluff and welcome back @peridot

Hello everyone, happy new year!

I have no idea what the festive damage is here, I don’t dare step on the scales until I feel a bit less pudgy Grin

I’m easing myself back in gently, just calorie counting this week, and then next week I’ll start doing fast days again. Exercise-wise I’m planning on doing two quick workouts twice a week, and then one bodypump class whenever I can fit it in. So basically eat less, move more! It’s worked for me before so I’m sure it’ll work again.

lastqueenofscotland · 01/01/2019 11:51

Checking in! After a good October and November I fell off big time in December. hoping to be 10.3/10.2 by end of this month.

New Years resolution is to stick on this thread!!

Hi can I tag along please? I've 2st9 to lose and want to feel comfortable about my weight whilst my dc are still small, It's taken me 2 years to lose a stone and any longer they will have moved out and it will be too late!

I'm weighing tomorrow though as working working last night so have drinks tonight Grin

NikiFree · 01/01/2019 20:06

Place marking.

Had an awesome NYE but still feeling the effects of the hangover.

sisteroutlaw · 01/01/2019 20:52

🖐️ Hello all! Thanks for the fab new thread. Love the upbeat chat already, although I'm hungover so will be pleased to start again with 2019 tomorrow. I am one with the telly right now, basking in its glow.

Planning to do:

  1. "Yoga with Adriene's" new 31 days of yoga - free on YouTube
  2. No alcohol Sunday to Thursday (complete abstention is unrealistic)
  3. 1,200 calories - challenging but doable

I'd love to hear about your meal wins where you've created something yummy and on calorie budget x

SlippersForMyFeet · 02/01/2019 09:03

Ok so I've just weighed in. I've decided my target date is mid July as a large family party is held then. That feels doable, Fitbit is charged mfp is downloaded and bottle of water is in my hand.

No idea what to eat though Grin

CharleyFarleyy · 02/01/2019 09:32

Hi, please can I join? I'm currently bang on 10 stone. I started trying to loose weight May 18 and started at 12.4 so it took me quite a while to loose that 2.4 stone!

7lb in Jan would be fab. My plan is the same as I was doing last year (before Xmas and new year!) Running every other day (c25k) and having my dinner on a side plate.

sisteroutlaw · 02/01/2019 09:35

I've weighed in too. Now at 59.1kg - that's 4kg gain from September... Going heavy on the water today after the salty excess of recent meals.

Will post any inspirational food ideas slippers!

2.4st, that's good going CharleyFarleyy (great name, that's what my gran's budgie was called!).

Koko you have just reminded me that I want to meal plan the next few weeks ahead and batch cook, so I have lots of things I can just take out of the freezer. Looking forward to Tom Kerridge's new show too, his no-carb lasagne is amazing (and in my fridge right now!).

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 02/01/2019 12:32

Hi all. I weighed in this morning at 11 5.6.

I've had 2 x poached eggs for breakfast.

Having home made carrot and sweet potato soup for lunch with a slice of bread.

Not sure about dinner yet. Maybe salmon and veggies but will probably include some potato and ease into the low carb gradually. I'm out for dinner tomorrow night so that could be tricky.

Also doing yoga with Adrienne. First one tonight.

I'm feeling very motivated but I'm only one meal in so let's see if it lasts Confused

Autumnnymph · 02/01/2019 13:08

Good on you @kickbishop

All the pollution here has caught
Up with me and am laid low wirh asthma
And chugging inhalers.

Haven’t eaten much but that’s mostly due to how much am coughing.

As we are my Mums there a loads of people to keep an eye on DD and loads of help around so am just taking it easy and trying to recover on time for my flight back home on Sunday.

I am at that phase of my vision my to my home country when I am
Homesick for what has now become my real home IYSWIM.

Hello, please can I join. I have 2.5 stone to lose which seems very daunting and I’m using MFP (and I am going to start regularly exercising).

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 02/01/2019 20:06

Welcome Nuffaluff, SlippersForMyFeet, CharleyFarleyy, and Simonsaysitschristmas!

I’m going to do a bit of batch cooking this week too. I would love to be organised enough that when I come home late on a weeknight I can pull a nice, healthy meal out of the freezer and heat it up, instead of having to cook and risking snacking because it takes so long.

Sorry to hear you’re unwell Autumn, hope you are on the mend soon Flowers

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 03/01/2019 09:42

Morning all! Just summoned up the courage to weigh myself and I was 9 stone 2.7lbs. That’s a gain of 4 lbs since October/November time. Not ideal but hopefully quickly reversible. Had a fairly golden day yesterday, lots of steps and about 1200 calories, hoping for the same again today.

HairsprayBabe · 03/01/2019 10:15

Happy new year all - literally didn't bother at all last month had first Xmas do on Dec the 4th and it was downhill from there!

Back at work now.

Easing myself in gently - will weigh in on Monday and then will be "cracking" on with an Egg fast to get myself in the ZONE.

Don't feel like I have over done it to to much this year - if the scales are over 10st I will be annoyed.

Buying wedding dress this month... so need to focus!

Simonsaysitschristmas · 03/01/2019 13:35

@hairspraybabe what is an egg fast??

I have batch cooked some soup for lunches and will do a bolognese at the weekend to have with courgette next week. Trying to reduce but not eliminate carbs, dairy and red meat. I have also worked out 3 days in a row which is unheard of for me
