Struggling today - had a decent breakfast but then got my period. Period and jetlag have knocked me out and i am curled up in bed with awful headache, cramps and nausea.

I am hungry but cant seem to find anything appetising so am just feasting on grapes now which feel refreshing.

I can't remember ever finding jetlag this annoying before - i am used to frequent long haul flights and normally bounce back quickly.

Anyway, my activity levels have been zero today. I am determined to stay awake and get a normal sleep today.

Hope everyone is having a lovely day!

Done my workout and feeling better.

Hope everyone has had a great day and I hope your jet lag gets better @autumn

Hoolahoophop · 08/01/2019 20:06

Fish your aiming lower than me! I haven't been that weight since primary school. Grin but I'm solid and curvy and can take a little extra weight. I've always been short bur never petite.

Not a great day today food wise but I've been busy so must have been burning calories, tomorrow is a work day, excellent for not snacking, poor for exercise. Confused

Autumnnymph · 08/01/2019 20:53

@fishonabicycle and @hoolahoopHop count me in the shrimp colony as well - slightly over 5 feet 2 inches . The slightly over bit is very important as the only surviving shorty in a family of tall people. Me and my DGM got the family average down just by ourselves and now i am fighting the lone battle. :D

Autumn take care of yourself. I had my first experience of jetlag from coming home from that direction last summer. It wiped me out. I thought it was meant to be worse coming from the west e.g. USA but I've never suffered that much that way.

Well still not much movement on the scales but I feel trimmer and i was running better tonight than I have in months so hopefully some muscles are appearing as the fat disappears Hmm (wishful thinking)

readyforsunshine · 08/01/2019 22:41

We have been eating at 6.30pm which is much earlier for us but tonight it was 8pm. I was starving & really grumpy then had a hobnob after dinner & still wanted a giant pile of white toast. I resisted.
Look the only thing that helps me get off the carbs is protein & not giving in to the cravings. Even 24hours off helps. Protein fills me up & if I tell myself that if I really ‘need something I can eat a whole chicken breast or 3 boiled eggs quite often I realise it really is NOT hunger just a craving. & lots of water! It gets easier 🙂
Says me having had a hobnob🤣

readyforsunshine · 08/01/2019 22:42

Sorry the carb thing was for koko, not look 🤔

Autumnnymph · 09/01/2019 07:31

Morning everyone - finally had a good sleep and feel closer to human - DH is wiped as well and reckons it’s all the travel we did catching up as wel.

Weighed in at 57.1 this morning so another 300 gms down. Almost back to pre holiday weight but I haven’t had much of an
Appetite yday so it may come back once I eat normally!

@Kick it’s weird my jetlag hasn’t always been worse flying into India than back here but this time I have been hit this direction as well. When I fly to states I am
Fine but flying back to London wipes me
Out. I do an average of six long hauls a year and can’t remember being this wiped in ages so maybe DH is right (gah) and all the travel exhaustion of last 3 weeks is catching up.

I haven’t cooked today and still feel weak so may grab a couple of soups Fromm Waitrose after the school run and more grapes.

Have a fab day everyone !

I can't remember who it was last year who was arguing for using weekly averages but I'm doing that this year. It means I've almost lost a lb this week already. Much more satisfying. Grin

The bad news is I visited the nurse recently and she had to calculate my bmi because I'm on the pill as HRT. I'd always calculated it based on me being 5 6. She did it in cm but it came out that I should be under 10 10. I think I've lost about half an inch post menopause and I was probably rounding up before anywayBlush.

So now my healthy BMI is 10 10 instead of 11 1. ShockAngry

That actually is my target weight. At least it's another reason to get back there.

ponygirlcurtis · 09/01/2019 08:35

I usually do a weekly average, Kick. Although I haven't started weighing yet as my reset doesn't seem to be taking. I will keep plugging away.

Simonsaysitschristmas · 09/01/2019 08:36

Morning everyone!

I have weighed again this morning and my weight has gone down again which is encouraging (official weigh in isn’t until Monday morning though). Feeling a lot more optimistic and motivated than I did yesterday Smile

fishonabicycle · 09/01/2019 09:34

Nymph and hoola! I'm a bit concerned as my short arse mother is getting shorter and shorter as she gets older! Argh. I will be technically a dwarf if I do that! I'm petite and do a fair amount of exercise (gym, walking and currently just did day 5 of Adriene's latest series - I love her and she always hearts my comments). I just am naturally a bit greedy and can easily chow down as much food as my 6 foot husband.

lastqueenofscotland · 09/01/2019 09:53

Wasn’t golden yesterday evening but wasn’t a disaster either. Everything planned out for today so fingers crossed

Hoolahoophop · 09/01/2019 10:45

Fish I hear you. I don't do much exercise....and chow down on as much as my 6ft husband. Grin

HairsprayBabe · 09/01/2019 10:49

good day yesterday
skipped breaky
egg mayo for lunch
omelette for dinner

and 4 sugar free mints

excited for some spinach tomorrow!

Autumnnymph · 09/01/2019 13:07

feeling almost back to normal today and have been on a house cleaning frenzy and trying to find places for all the stuff we bought when on holiday.

I also need to at some point catch up on folding all the clothes that are right now a mountain on the bed in the guest bedroom.

Have had a good day today so far. Savoury oats porridge again for breakie with loads of veggies.

I am not feeling too hungry so may just have a salad when I feel peckish.

I am still on an Indian cooking hangover and am trying a new recipe for paneer and vegetable butter masala that a friend gave me in India. That and lemon dal for dinner with rotis for DD and DH and just the veggies for me.

@fish and @hoola i am actually not a big eater but my downfall is fizzy drinks. I also seem to have my Mums metabolism of just gaining weight by looking at food. She is 5.7 and just looks "big boned" with extra weight while I look like an round ball where every extra bit of weight shows.

Oh and I made a really good vegetable and quinoa stew last week adapting a recipe from Mum. If anyone is looking for vegetarian recipes - especially Indian or indian inspired let me know :D

OP posts:
Simonsaysitschristmas · 09/01/2019 13:36

Ooh @autumn please could you share the recipe- I love Indian food and really trying to cut down on how much meat we eat at the moment

readyforsunshine · 09/01/2019 14:28

Fish & hooks- me too! Tiny mum, I’m shrinking & eat as much as 6’+ dh.
Was delighted to have a small loss this am when he didnt👊 Never happens!

readyforsunshine · 10/01/2019 06:45

Just under 11stone this morning- hurray!

lastqueenofscotland · 10/01/2019 08:24

Well done sunshine!

I have gut rot this morning but has helped us drop a pound this week Grin

Autumnnymph · 10/01/2019 08:53

weighed it at 56.93 today which was my exact weight on 15th December when I stopped being golden. I am extremely pleased the holiday weight gain has rolled off in less than a week - shows that it is indeed easy to lose weight before it "settles".

I was 58.1 kgs on 7th January, so that's a loss of just over 1.1 kgs this week so far. I am very motivated now and want to see if i can keep the downward trend going.

One thing i have done this week is make myself a large jug of fresh lemon water at home with a hint of spices and a pinch of salt. Any time I feel hungry I drink a large glass. I drank a lot of this in India as its very popular there in the heat and I find this is also helping me drink loads of water during the day.

Hope everyone is having a good week!

Well done autumn!!!

Hoolahoophop · 10/01/2019 09:58

Well done autumn the drink sounds great.

I'm down 3lb today, but waiting for a weekly average as my start weight and start tracking from there.
