I have looked at other threads but there are so many of them that i dont know where to start so thought i would see if anyone else is thinking about starting now and wanted to join me so we can motivate each other!
Ideally i would like to eventually lose 3 stone.

I want to lose three stone to I just finished BF so diet here I come

have to sa I have no idea where to start though

TippiHedren · 20/06/2007 17:55

I went on a diet a few months ago and was doing really well until i totally lost motivation! I was having 3 meals a day, no snacking, no alchohl during the week and doing plenty of walking, that was working so thats what i am planning to do this time.

Are you up for it with me then? I was thinking we could post here daily with a food and exercise diary and have a weekly weigh in stating our loss/gain!! Dont need to post actual weight though if you dont want to.[maybe when we are skinny binnys!)

Me too. I've just joined gym for more exercise, into my second week of it but it makes me so hungry I'm eating more. Would like any advice. I'm just under 13 stone now and would like to get to 11 stone at least. I've done it before, can't use kids as excuse as youngest is 5. Am trying to eat healthily, it'd be nice have any support from anyone.

curiouscat · 21/06/2007 10:08

Shall I start off with today's food diary or is it too boring? 1 Weetabix with semiskim milk for breakfast. 1 bought hot chocolate on way to work. I'd like to hear what works for anyone else.

I walked 10 mins to tube and then 15 mins to office this morning. I thought when I started work this Feb I'd lose weight because was away from the kitchen all day. But I haven't as no day time bike rides etc possible.

I have a really sweet tooth and am prone to grab chocolate in the evenings and probably eat too much fruit which Weightwatchers (not a current member) gives points to.

Kind of lost my way really, looking forward to getting to know you Tippi and sniff if this takes off

marymoocow · 21/06/2007 10:12

I started yesterday using a loose method of Slimming World which has worked before. My motivation?..................................

My friend has gone on holiday for 3 weeks, and we always try to lose weight together and i REALLY WANT TO ANNOY HER WHEN SHE GETS HOME. (Sorry for shouting ).

So in short any moral support on here would be appreciated too

Shoshable · 21/06/2007 10:19

started at ww again (recently tried Slimming world but not to good for me) and lost 5lb the first week and 4lb this week.

curiouscat · 21/06/2007 10:33

Wow Shoshable you must be over the moon! Did you use the set plans or just stick to your points?

AbRoller · 21/06/2007 10:43

I'd like to join

I joined another thread ages ago but they were doing marathons - way to much for me.

I started trying to loose weight a few months ago as I'm due to be a bridesmaid in august but hit a standstill and kind of lost motivation. I've just had a ww pack sent to me at home (getting to the meetings was difficult) and I'm ready to get cracking again.

Don't go to the gym but have Threadmill, X-trainer and exercise bike all crammed into my lounge so I'll work on them.

I'd love the motivation of a thread like this so hope it takes off.

Good luck everybody

Shoshable · 21/06/2007 10:50

CC I just stuck religiously to my points, and drank LOADS of water I do find if I dont drink at least 2 litres I dont lose weight.

I have a illness that means much exercise is out of the window, but am a Cm, so busy all day.

lost 3 stone before but put it back on this time determined it will stay off, (banned Dh from buying me choccie)

PinkChick · 21/06/2007 10:54

Me please...i stopped S.W ealrier in year as was just eating noodles and cereal and still losing but since leaveing have put about 7lb back on.
we go to scyprus in middle of aug, so i want to lose at least a stone for then??..have had 4 relativly good days now but its also time of month so gunna wait till monday to get weighed as im going up and down every day?!

PinkChick · 21/06/2007 10:55

and hi shosh!, thats fantastic

AbRoller · 21/06/2007 11:04

Well done Shosh, brill

curiouscat · 21/06/2007 11:07

How does SWorld work? I've heard of red and green days and wonder if it could work for me? Or is it really complicated?

Quattrocento · 21/06/2007 11:27

May I join? I would like to lose another fifteen pounds - have gone a certain distance - but absolutely stuck where I am now (11 stone 8 and a quarter!!). Been doing weightwatchers.

PinkChick · 21/06/2007 11:44

s.w used to be red and green, now you can mix and its very simple, but as with anything youve got be in frame of mind to do it!..green-pasta(dried) spuds(no butter no fat), rice, most veggys etc..red=meat(all fat removed and not cooked in it), seafood, veggys..sounds basic but it really isnt as thats the part i cant be botherd with all the rpeparing recipies, im a jacket spud with beans kinda gal

marymoocow · 21/06/2007 13:53

But you can have jacket and beans - thats a green day. And you can have small amounts of fatless meat on green days so chilli and rice would count as a green day as long as you didn't have tooo much mince iyswim. Really its just a case of balancing meat against potatoes/pasta/rice. If you want lots of meat then limit the other and vice versa. Really don't have to follow their recipes at all, although they do have some nice ones just for a change.
Like i say though i am only loosely following it. Hope that helps.

marymoocow · 21/06/2007 13:57

Oh and like you Shosh i find that drinking loads of water helps. I did hear (not sure if its true - possibly not) but the best thing that you can do is to have a glass of water after every time you visit the loo. Sort of replacing what you lost.
I find it stops me feeling so hungry.

curiouscat · 21/06/2007 15:51

If you drink 2 litres a day don't you spend all your time going to the loo?

CayKon · 21/06/2007 16:57

Hi I would like to join I have about 3 1/2stone to loose already lost 2 stone in 9 weeks doing slimming world. In a mad attempt to loose as much weight as i can before my wedding in august I am giving the cambridge diet ago. started it monday and haven't cheated at all.

Shoshable · 21/06/2007 17:33

CC yes for the first couple of days then it calms down

I keep a Litre sports bottle next to the PC everytime i sit down I pick it up, you drink it without realizing.

I lso have a half litre first thing in the morning.

I do buy the Tesco fizzy flavoured water as well, the Lemon and elderflower is really refresing and it is quite sweet so stops me craving sweet things. And its no calories

sniff · 21/06/2007 20:37

I am no good at this food stuff you will all laugh I have had a
cream egg!!!

OP posts:
TippiHedren · 21/06/2007 20:54

Im not envious of your cream egg at all as i really dont like them!

Hopefully when people post their meals of the day you could get some ideas and try them out.

marymoocow · 21/06/2007 21:31

I had lemon chicken for tea which was really easy to make. Just marinated the chicken breast in lemon juice, grated rind and chilli flakes for a couple of hours and then dry roasted it in the oven. Had loads of different veg with it.
Easy to do and combined with everyone elses as they just had normal breasts of chicken ie. dc. and i just did potatoes with theirs aswell.
hth
What's everyone else had. Need some ideas for tomorrow.

marymoocow · 21/06/2007 21:33

oh and yesterday i made some ice lollies from sugar free squash, which seemed like a real treat as it was sweet, but totally ok to eat iyswim.
dc loved them too
