I have looked at other threads but there are so many of them that i dont know where to start so thought i would see if anyone else is thinking about starting now and wanted to join me so we can motivate each other!
Ideally i would like to eventually lose 3 stone.

Hi all, checking in after a gutsy weekend. Hoping for a better week now. Good luck.

Shoshable · 03/07/2007 08:57

curiouscat · 03/07/2007 09:54

Hi shosh, a lb is still a lb. 'Only' a lb is still a a loss, so wishing you luck in your weigh in

Hi everyone,
Had a bad weekend (but enjoyed it iyswim 0, and not feeling too guilty about it.
Weigh in day tomorrow, so trying hard today. I'm seriously going to have to do the exercise route as well, as its not coming off as fast as i'd like it to.

My friend is back from her holiday next week, and i'd really like to shock her. Nobody seems to have noticed any weight loss that i see every day so i'm hoping she will.

Hope everyone has a good day. Off to decide what to get for lunch now.

curiouscat · 03/07/2007 16:09

Hi all, for lunch today I tried Pret's £3.80 no-bread sandwich. It had rocket, humus, sundried tomatoes, a few nuts and chick peas. Small box though. And it's 4pm and I'm hungry!!!

Has anyone else cut out bread significantly? What do you replace it with?

I'm trying to only eat when I'm hungry, as suggested by my Lighter Life handbook, but it's hard to stick to office routines and fulfil it.

Shoshable · 03/07/2007 16:30

Today I had,

Small bowl of porridge 2.0
WW Biscuits 1.5
Apple 0.5

Ham & Egg Salad 4.0

Lite Crisps 1.5

The Salad was courtsey of the lovely lady at soft play, who when I asked could I have the baguette without the baguette said, she would make me a salad. she is so lovely.

weigh in tonight, then a pasts dish of some sort (whatever DH cooks)

ktmoomoo · 03/07/2007 16:38

Shoshable · 03/07/2007 16:57

never heard of that diet kt, have emailed you

ktmoomoo · 03/07/2007 18:00

xenical is a diet pill from the doctors which takes a third of the fat out any food you eat

marymoocow · 03/07/2007 20:45

Curious Cat - I have stopped having bread on the whole, and replace it by having pasta, or rice. You can also try potatoes (baked or make a potato salad). Have also had veggie omelettes. Easy to do if your home for lunch, alot harder if your out. Hope that helps a bit. There is also the boring salad, but doesn't fill you up much (could add a boiled egg into it i suppose)

curiouscat · 04/07/2007 08:56

Hi marym, this is helpful. From a weight gain point of view are potatoes/pasta/rice better than bread? I guess it's all about quantities.

They are all carbs though but as the preparation takes some thought maybe having mentally banned bread I'd be less likely to aimlessly eat potatoes/rice.

FWIW I've gone down to 1 weetabix (rather than 2) in the morning. Plan to have salad lunch including a few nuts and an avocado(no bread). Apple for snack but not sure about supper yet.

Going to gym at lunch time, can see some leg muscles developing finally after 3 weeks so it's making a difference.

The drinking 2 litres water a day really helps so thanks people for that tip

Shoshable · 04/07/2007 09:01

weighed in last night, 1/2lb off the stone, knew i shouldnt have had that extra roast pot

marymoocow · 04/07/2007 10:20

Hi Curious cat. As i've said before i'm very loosely following the slimming world thing. So potatoes, rice and pasta are free on a green day. The basic principles are that if you have as much as those as you want then you have to limit the amount of meat that you have, and if you have lots of meat you have to be careful of how much potatoes etc you can have. The bread is classed as a healthy extra (so no syns) but if you have your fill on the potatoes etc, and a little bit of meat you can count the meat as a healthy extra too. You can only have 2 healthy extra's a day, so you could in theory have 2 slices of wholemeal bread, and the meat. However some breakfast cereals are also classed as a healthy extra, so i use that as one and the meat with my main meal at night as the other.

Sounds more confusing on paper than it actually is (sorry) .
And it really doesn't take long to put a baked potato in the microwave, and some beans in a pan. Its more about adjusting your mind to different lunches. They also are more filling than a sandwich - which i find quite boring to eat aswell.

Oh and it must be working as i have lost another 3lbs this week .

ktmoomoo · 04/07/2007 10:48

curiouscat · 04/07/2007 12:16

kt so sorry, I've been busy at the office, now checking in before killer total body workout at gym.

Good news, my ring feels looser on my finger today

Will check in later, am jealous of your looser clothes. I'm convinced mine shrink in the wash and jeans I wore 6 months ago leave me with a hideous muffin top but I don't want to go up a size.

Are you still there?

curiouscat · 04/07/2007 12:18

Ok, talk later maybe. Miaow

marymoocow · 05/07/2007 14:33

How's everyone doing today?

I'm starting to get a bit bored with it all, even though i have been losing. I need some new recipes i think. Am trying desperatly to keep away from salads.
