feeling very determined that i can do it this time

marymoocow · 26/06/2007 13:50

Hi everyone.

Struggling today, finding temptation really hard, especially this afternoon which is why i am putting my fingers to some use .

Don't think it has helped that dh came home for lunch and ate all the goodies, while i sat with my bowl of rice and a banana. I need a treat, but don't want to give in. I'm winning at the moment but only just.
I'm really tired today as well which is also my problem, I always eat when i am tired.

Well moan over, am surviving just. Weigh day tomorrow.

ktmoomoo · 26/06/2007 13:51

hi can anyone join this xx

AbRoller · 26/06/2007 14:12

All welcome I'm sure.

Marymoo, I know that feeling. I think dp is a 'feeder'. Twice this week he has arrived home with take out Stay here and we'll all keep eachother going

I have some good news and maybe a little bit of motivation - I was in a panic the last few weeks as the bridesmaid dress that I have to wear in August was already bought in a size 16 and I'm an 18.......

......WELL, I've just seen the dress for the first time today and IT FITS!!!!!!

The hard work and whinging has paid off and given me the motivation to keep going.

We can all do it if we put our mind to it. I'm still not happy with being so overweight but little triumps are brill.

uummmm....Do I celebrate with a nice piece of cake and cuppa or hairdo?

marymoocow · 26/06/2007 14:23

well done abroller . Go and get your hair done, think of the weight you could lose if you went bald .
Thanks for the support. I'm feeling a bit more with it now. Just had that afternoon slump, but have had a moan on another thread and have taken my mind off things. Oh you could have the cuppa as well though.

Welcome ktmoomoo.

AbRoller · 26/06/2007 14:30

lol, another couple of pounds at least but I've got a sticky-out ear so bald not so good

Yes the hairdo a definate. Cuppa and a WW slice, how's that for comprimise?

curiouscat · 26/06/2007 15:55

Hi kt and well done Abs!

I wonder if my dh is a feeder too. He's a great cook and it's hard to turn my nose up at his offerings when I come home tired from work (he works from home).

I find supper timing difficult. If I've been 'good' at work I'm starving by 7pm when I get home. It's too easy to scoff a couple of sandwiches before the kids go down and then eat a full meal later (which is one reason why I'm overeweight). Otherwise I end up making the sandwich my supper (boring, same as lunch) and watching dh eat something lovely he's cooked.

Any tips for instant healthy suppers which don't involve a microwave (got rid of mine)?

curiouscat · 27/06/2007 09:54

Hi all, back again. Yesterday had:
2 weetabix with milk, 1 humus salad s/w, 1 banana, couscous with peas, nuts and raisins, 1 mini magnum, 1 cranberry juice with slimline tonic.

For the first time in ages I didn't really enjoy the icecream, it felt oily and slippery after the healthier food. But hey I ate it

My long-unworn belt is now a notch tighter, I'm in week 3 but haven't weighed recently, am waiting till Friday.

Hoping to do exercise class in lunch hour today.

marymoocow · 27/06/2007 11:15

Well, I got on the scales today and i'd lost 3lb's . Trouble is when its the first 3 you really don't feel much different (or at least i don't), so i kept jumping on an off.
I suppose it gives me the determination to carry on for next week, as by then it could be nearly half a stone in all(hope so anyway).

Well its potato salad for lunch again today, and probably spaghetti or something for dinner. Anyone got any ideas for breakfasts? Warning though i don't like many cereals - especially weetabix, which i see is many of your favourites. I do make dc eat it though

curiouscat · 27/06/2007 11:21

Well done marymoo (happy dance) - that's great.

On breakfast definitely avoid muesli as it's very high in calories. My MIL was told to avoid it by her dietician.

What about wholemeal toast with jam?

AbRoller · 27/06/2007 12:11

Hi all, how's everyone getting on? Well done marymoo

Yesterday I stuck to my points but didn't exercise. Today I've had glass of oj, WW beans on 2 slices of toast, no butter. Going to try my hand at a lovely stew from the ww book and do an hour exercise combining the TM, X-T and bike.

Hope you all have a good day

marymoocow · 27/06/2007 12:46

Thanks AbRoller and Curiouscat. Mental note again that exercise would help.
Had a change of plan for lunch as i was way too hungry to wait while i did a potato salad, so it was mixed pepper and cheese omelette, jacket potato (plain), and some baked beans.
Hope everyone has a good day

ktmoomoo · 27/06/2007 17:28

Hi all, good news: weighed myself and lost 2lbs this week This despite daily ice cream treats etc so it seems slowly and surely is the right way for me, plus gym visits.

Hi everyone, had another couple of good days, here's to the weekend.
Hopefully dh will be helpful and not parade food infront of me, i somehow doubt it.

Have discovered quorn products, which while not tasting exactly the same can be disguised a little. It did mean that while the rest of the family had burgers last night as a treat to celebrate dd gymnastics awards, i could join in and put mine in a wholemeal roll.

Oh and i know i have fallen into the trap of teaching the dc that food is a treat, but they don't get it very often

ktmoomoo · 29/06/2007 23:02

hi turned down fish and chips at work this week i sat with my salad and watched them eat thiers ....... felt great xxxx how u all doing xxx

AbRoller · 30/06/2007 15:25

Hi everyone, well done Shosh and the rest of you having great will-power.

I confess I ate a chinese meal last night but I stayed within my points......

skimmed milk for tea throughout the day 1 point
banana 1 1/2 points
half portion boiled rice 3 points
half portion kung po 5 points
wine, 2 glasses ?points but not 10 for sure so I was within my quota for the day

Can I have a little moan about the x-trainer...I really really hate it It was invented to make me cry I'm convinced. When I reach my target (long way to go!) I'm going to rejoice in a little dance around the fire it sits atop. I will make it scream like it has made me. Revenge
