I have looked at other threads but there are so many of them that i dont know where to start so thought i would see if anyone else is thinking about starting now and wanted to join me so we can motivate each other!
Ideally i would like to eventually lose 3 stone.

Hi everyone. Had a lovely day with ds2 on his nursery trip to the zoo. Involved picnic lunch, but was very good, and had wholemeal role with laughing cow spread cheese and lettuce. I did have a packet of crisps, but they were light ones so only 5 syns.

Haven't found that drinking the water settles down the loo visits, but i just keep reassuring myself that its good for the kidneys.

2 more days to go before i squeeze into my sleeping bag

curiouscat · 19/07/2007 16:55

Hi marym, well done for your abstemious picnic. I'm feeling smug as have eaten so far today (it's 5pm) 2 apples, 1 banana, 1 small sushi portion.

And I swam 1000metres in my lunch hour. Although I'm not losing much weight, my posture's much better, my skin's brighter and I feel in a good mood most of the time from the exercise.

So this all prepares me for my boozy/greedy night out with a friend tonight

Did anyone watch that bossy doctor programme last night, outside in? An overweight lady with a chocolate habit. Really felt for her, as she had fungal infections in her tummy folds as well as her feet etc. Apparently sugar and yeast in her diet were 'feeding' the infection. Once they cut it out for 3 months she was clear of it plus lost loads of weight.

I sympathised with her and think remembering that will help me avoid the sweets more. But it occurs to me that if I lose my tummy it'll end up wrinkly and flabby anyway (I'm 13st now hoping to get to 11st) with the post-3kids extra skin.

didn't mention the fish and chips i had later that day then . hoping for a healthy week of camping now. think of the exercise i'll have running to the loo to dodge the rain . have a good week everyone.

curiouscat · 20/07/2007 13:19

MaryM, Good luck with the camping, hope you've got lots of bin liners with you

curiouscat · 23/07/2007 13:44

Hi all, a Monday checkin from me. As usual ate too much at the weekend but am back on the straight and narrow now.

How's anyone else getting on?

marymoocow · 28/07/2007 20:00

Hi Curious. Back from the camping trip. Was wet but great. Not sure what i ate, but will be back to it tomorrow. (after my Sunday roast that i have been looking foward to all week )

curiouscat · 30/07/2007 14:05

Hi marym, welcome back, glad the camping was fun. My ds is at the scount jamboree camping week, I was really jealous when I saw the forest, tents, climbing walls etc

Anyway I've been useless on the weight front, I need something to keep me off the evening chocolate/icecream but it's always around the house because of everyone else.

On the bright side, at least I haven't put on weight. Off for fortnight in Greece on 8 August so I'll try and be good till then.

marymoocow · 30/07/2007 21:38

Hope your ds has a good time. My ds is off to the local sunrise camp tomorrow night.

We went to Brownsea last week while we were away, and saw all the sunrise preparations there. It looked fab, if rather muddy.

Getting back to the weight front myself, i'm not managing very well either. Can't quite get myself motivated again. Trouble is i can see that i have lost some, and at the moment i feel good for that - although i know if i lost the same amount again i would feel fantastic. At least i didn't put any on while i was away. I think in the back of my mind because we are going away again very soon i keep thinking i'll start again when we get back. Common sense isn't telling me to think about the weight i could be losing while waiting to go away.

Having the dc on school holidays isn't helping either.

Will keep posting though as at least i know that someone is watching me (so to speak) and i have to account at least once a week to the world about what i have done

Have a great time in Greece btw.

Hi marym, hang on in there, it'll be worthwhile I'm sure. I've arranged corporate gym membership at my office so am hoping for slim Christmas as it's obviously too late for a slim summer.

It's good to know I'm not the only one struggling. It's so boring to talk about and think about but hard to avoid when yet again I don't want to shop for clothes in the size I am so am left with worn out old coverups not the slinky sexy stuff I really belong in.

It's depressing buying for camouflage (tummy, upper arms, legs oh sod it I'll just get a burka) rather than looks and style so while I'm not terribly vain I do think this aspect will keep me focussed on the goal.

Good luck to everyone anyway.

marymoocow · 31/07/2007 12:57

trouble is do you think we might be sitting here at xmas saying "we'll be slim for summer!" . Hope not. i think i'm just going to have to be careful over the school holidays and then start again in earnest once they're back.

ktmoomoo · 01/08/2007 19:03

marymoocow · 01/08/2007 20:07

Well done Kt . I will get back to it again.

marymoocow · 07/08/2007 14:48

Have a good holiday Curious. Think my scales must be on the blink, as they keep telling me i have lost weight and i'm not even doing anything at the moment. According to them i have lost a stone all but 1 pound .
Not complaining but clothes aren't feeling any looser .

Am off myself for a fortnight on Saturday, so will be back to it all after that.

Good luck and keep going, to anyone who is still with us

ktmoomoo · 07/08/2007 15:52

ktmoomoo · 08/08/2007 21:15

Countingthegreyhairs · 10/08/2007 15:15

Hi - just checking back in- sorry have not posted for a while - had loads of visitors staying. Have only lost 0.5 kilo so far but better than nowt.

Finding all this quite difficult in school holidays to be honest: meals less regular, more outings (with occasional fast food thrown in) more 'party' food about ...

Enrolling in some exercise classes for September as feel heavy and sluggish right now.

Are all of you following a specific food plan? Need help please!!!

marymoocow · 28/08/2007 17:19

I'm back. Have put on about 3lbs, but considering i have been on away for 3 weeks, and one weekend over the school holidays, i'm not too worried.

Hope everyone else is ok, and had a good holiday .

Am planning to start again for real on 10th Sept, when all three dc will be at school. dc3 is starting then
