Hope your feeling better soon Santa

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 06/09/2018 08:15

This thread is moving so fast, I can hardly keep up. Loving the motivation though!

That sounds horrible Santa, I hope you feel better soon!

GettinTrimmer Early evening when I'm cooking dinner is my danger time too. I'm terrible for nibbling the ingredients, I have to keep the tasty ones (cheese, tbh) out of sight until I need them, but it's so hard to resist Blush

I've had a fairly good week so far, sticking to my calories and squeezing in as much exercise as possible. May have had a cheeky midweek weigh-in yesterday, and I was 1.5lbs down since Sunday, but that might just be water weight coming off. I don't normally tend to lose weight that fas, which i think is a side effect of being a short-arse petite.

QuantumWeatherButterfly · 06/09/2018 09:38

Oh dear, Santa - sounds nasty. I hope you feel better soon.

Good day yesterday, Paul seemed to be on form to control my over eating. And I was pleased to be almost a Linda down on yesterday (not surprised, was peeing like a carthorse!) so 12st 7.1.

This is good news, because it is:

  1. My lowest weight since my post holiday reset
  2. Less and a Linda over my pre-holiday weight
  3. Less than 3 Lindas over this year's overall low

Excitingly, it is now exactly 1 week before I can start C25K, if my remaining achilles rehab sessions go well. I'm debating charging my running watch, so DH I can get it to install any updates before I head out. But will that level of pre-preparedness jinx things? I don't want to get ahead of myself.

QuantumWeatherButterfly · 06/09/2018 09:39

Oh, meant to say - my weekly average is also running at over half a Linda down on last week, which makes me very happy.

Peridot1 · 06/09/2018 10:16

Sorry you were ill Santa. Sounds yuck.

Quantum- all sounds good. I would sort the watch. Even if you are told not to run just yet knowing it’s ready might help. Although - would you be better starting by walking for a few weeks before starting C25K? Obvious you know yourself better and they won’t tell you you can run if you shouldn’t. I tend to err on the side of caution!

Welcome to new people and hi everyone else! Thread is getting busy!

I thought I didn’t have a great day yesterday but just put it all into MFP and it wasn’t too bad. Under my calories. But it was carby. Bread, bread and mashed potatoes. So I’m a bit bloated this morning. No carby shit in my day today other than fruit and veg so hopefully will be back to non bloat tomorrow.

I had a rest day from walking yesterday as was a bit achy. Hips were quite painful and I have discovered muscles in my butt! That get a bit painful! But I will head out again shortly. Aiming for 9km.

Food today

Breakfast - Greek yoghurt, a nectarine and two tablespoons of Grape Nuts
Lunch - chicken and lots of salad
Dinner - steak with roast Mediterranean veg and corn on the cob

My food plan has started to slip a bit so posting it for posterity! Still doing Sober September and going well.

Terf2Terf · 06/09/2018 10:32

QuantumWeatherButterfly ummm what's with all the Lindas? Is it code? Or a secret handshake that you can't know til you've lost 27.5lbs? Grin

QuantumWeatherButterfly · 06/09/2018 10:46

Peridot C25K is meant for complete beginners anyway, so starts with run/walk to ease you in. But I already do a lot of walking, and I've been rehabbing for 2 years now (it's been a bugger of an injury!) so I'm done with cautiousSmile. I do strengthening exercises for the rest of my leg/lower body muscles and I've done a lot of running/competitive sport in the past, so as long as my achilles holds up, I should be fine.

Terf Someone's phone once autocorrected Lb to Linda, many, many threads ago, and it just stuckSmile

TVHubbyClaire · 06/09/2018 11:11

11st 13 today so no real change. Eating less at times and feeling very hungry at others

Five days into plank challenge and up to a minute today. I didn't expect that to be too strenuous but cant for life of me see how i get up to 5 mins by end of month Hmm

Terf2Terf · 06/09/2018 11:21

Lol at linda Grin I have a toxic relative called Linda and you can't imagine how many times I wished I'd lost her rather than the weight GrinGrin

fatfast · 06/09/2018 11:30

Managed to eat healthy yesterday and ran 4 miles - woke up this morning to an extra pound EnvyEnvyEnvy

MissingPanda · 06/09/2018 12:44

Going well so far. Sticking to the plan of three meals a day. Weighed in on Tuesday at 11st 10lbs exactly, went to the gym yesterday and plan to do so again tomorrow. Weetabix for breakfast, chicken salad for dinner. No idea what for tea as I'm at work, will see what's in the fridge/cupboards.

Welcome to the newbies Smile

fatfast the human body is a weird thing. When you think you've done well it gains, when you think you've had a bad day it loses. It may be bloat that will disappear tomorrow. The important thing is not to give up but keep going and eventually it will disappear.

Peridot1 · 06/09/2018 12:53

Quantum - I’ve done C25K before. Buggered up my knees! Hence my caution! I really want to do it again though. I loved it and it really changed my shape. If you are already walking ignore me!

Fatfast - you might get a whoosh in a few days.

TVHUbby - I’ve been rubbish at the plank challenge! Keep forgetting. I think I’ll put a reminder in my phone for first thing every morning.

GettinTrimmer · 06/09/2018 17:59

Spurious we'll have to think of ways to keep the snacking while cooking dinner at a distance! I get the ingredients out that I need, but I could ask my dc to grate cheese and keep away.

I have not had a good day. Forgot my lunch and had a tuna baguette. And 3 misshapen chocolates when I came home! Oh well, weigh in tomorrow and I hope for some sort of weight loss, been a good week other that today. Did my 7 minutes YouTube dvd with Lucy Wyndham Read. I really felt tired but 7 minutes is OK. Off out for a walk after tea. Dh cooking this evening for himself & kids which leaves me free to do my own thing.

50Shades have you thought any more about investing in LWR's EBook/online training plan? I am interested in her 4 week apple shape one.

NewMeStartsHere · 06/09/2018 19:12

Feeling so miffed although I know I shouldn't be. Weigh in today. Only lost 1lb. I hoped for more given the amount of exercise and week 1 usually lose more.

Argh! Such a long slog.

There will be no photo difference this week!

1200calsaday · 06/09/2018 19:42

Love the Linda story. Delighted to say I'm maintaining focus. Normally I have a wobble and throw in the towel but I'm determined this time. I write a daily diary and have listed what I want to achieve - here are some - no more muffin top, go into any shop and size 12's will fit me, no more embarrassing photos where there's my arm looking like a slab of ham and my middle tyre sticking out more than my boobs.
I will achieve the 7 lindas weight loss in September and then I'll be the lightest I've been for years.

Onwards and downwards :-)
Hairspray - beautiful ring and yes the lippy caught my eye too Grin

Twinplusone · 06/09/2018 20:05

Sorry had a stressful day yesterday so AWOL... anyway, yoga ball arrived today. Got to prepare for an interview on Monday so will be on the back burner until after that!

Eat fairly healthy today, hoping to make up some soup to take into work next week

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 06/09/2018 21:40

@quantum I'm just coming back from an Achilles injury too. Did yours rupture?

Mine didn't thank goodness. It's Achilles tendonitis and possibly a heel bursa too. Basically it hurts a bit, is stiff and achy most evenings and has an alarming lump on the back of my heel. It started in January but I carried on running occasionally until April Blush

After a few months of resting and it not getting better I've started seeing a private physio who gives me a massage and ultrasound once a week. Also I do heel lifts and heat and ice it every day.

It is definitely better and the lump has gone down a bit. I started running last week. I've been 4 times now and tonight I did 4 miles. It hurt by the end so I think I did too much. It's so good to be back out though Grin

Hope you get back out soon. I am going to slow it down now. I can tell I'm getting carried away because I'm enjoying myself Smile.

Toadsrevisited · 07/09/2018 04:09

Can I join you? I'm 11.10 today on weighing at first ever SW meeting. Used to be 10.5 pre babies. Ds2 is 4 months old and breastfed but I am determined not to slip into coffee and cake everyday now ds1is at school.

My challenge is is that DH is a wonderful cook and makes cakes etc for fun as well as puddings and big portions.

Not sure how this will will work but have signed up for 6 weeks to aim at 11stone (5:10)Is that reasonable? Never had to do this before but the weight has crept on in my thirties.

Neenook · 07/09/2018 04:31

Me too? Have piled on the weight over the summer - happy under 9st 7 but currently 10st 8.
Will use MFP and cut right down on bread, potatoes, pasta and sweet stuff and try to get to the gym a couple of times a week. I've a wedding to go to mid-October and want to be back in shape by then.

Harmonyrays · 07/09/2018 05:00

Hey, you guys sounds awesome! Well done to everyone.

id like to join if I can? In need of some support! Currently 16 stone 4lbs after baby number 2. Goal weight is 10 stone by next summer. I have mfp and trying to work on running again. But Being this over weight though is it best to drop some weight through dieting and then start exercising or do both the same time? Don't want to get an injury this early on.

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 07/09/2018 06:22

Welcome lovely new people Flowers

toads that sounds very doable. My starting weight was 11 11 last October and I was 10 10 by Christmas. I don't have a new born though and if you are bf that can help (for me it made me hungrier)

neenook lots of us here use mfp. Your plan sounds a lot like mine.

harmony I'm not an expert but I think if you have the time walking us brilliant exercise. If you can include hills and get your heart rate up even better. I always lose more weight if I'm off work and can walk for an hour or two a day. Also it doesn't trigger my appetite like running does. Have you got a fitbit?

You could also look at c25k or build up to it slowly.

WickedGoodDoge · 07/09/2018 06:50

I weigh in tomorrow. I’ve had a good week and not snacked at all. I suspect DH’s finally persuading me to add in one of his protein whey drinks every day has worked. I hadn’t believed that adding more calories would help, but they are filling in me up AND they are so sweet that I’m not craving anything else sweet during the day. Suppose I’ll find out tomorrow when I weigh myself. Grin

Toadsrevisited · 07/09/2018 07:25

What's the mfp, can I ask? And thanks for the reply kick

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 07/09/2018 07:31

GettinTrimmer Delegating! Great idea Grin

Welcome Harmony!

I’m off work today so I’m just waiting to go into my first BodyPump class in ages. Slightly concerned I may not be able to walk for the rest of the weekend after this Confused

Weighed in at 9 stone 1 this morning, so 3lbs down. Pleased with that!

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 07/09/2018 07:39

Toads mfp is MyFitnessPal. It's a free app where you can log all of your food each day and track calories, carbs, protein etc.

It appeals to people who like a graph and statistics! It helped me when i first used it to see where I was eating empty calories and also where my portion control was out (pizzas mainly!)

Now I am much better at knowing what I should be eating I use it to be accountable to myself.
