Hi, Team Slenderista! Sorry for going AWOL, was just really hacked off with being ill and stressed and having lots of guests/stuff planned, there’s been a lot going on.

I’m pleased I haven’t done too much scales-related damage through it all, holding steady at 12st 7.5, which is okay. Not where I wanted to be right now, but okay.

C25K is going pretty well. I’ve completed week 1 and done 2 of 3 runs in week 2, and enjoying it so far. I’m still terrified I’m going to relapse with my injury, but so far so good, and I am loving my barre class.

I haven’t been going quite so well with my McKenna Mindset, but I’m blaming that on the stress/illness/busyness, I just haven’t been able to focus. This week is also a bit nuts, but then it should be calmer for a while. Hoping upping the exercise will carry me through and I’ll start to see some movement on the scales soon.

poorpaws · 24/09/2018 14:00

So far so good. Over 17,000 steps done and food intake good. Good luck Angels.

Peridot things are moving very slowly. Had the store painted very badly so refused to let the workmen do anything inside. Insurers being slow with money so have booked work to start in the kitchen mid October and I’m paying myself cos I can’t stand any more delays. The flood was 12 June ffs!

TVHubbyClaire · 25/09/2018 09:39

Fairly low key weekend which did involve alcohol on all 3 nights. I did manage to keep steps up and didnt eat alot. Low intake day yesterday and badminton at night helped get me to 11st 11 this morning. Thats quite exciting and i dont dare to think about single figure Lindas just yet

Moominfan · 25/09/2018 19:58

5lbs down so far. Had an impromptu chippy lunch though today. Will be super strict tomorrow

Peridot1 · 26/09/2018 11:22

poorpaws - it sounds very frustrating. I really hope it all gets sorted for you.

I feel I’ve been faffing about with everything a bit lately and really need to refocus. I have seven weeks till I go to Australia and I really want to lose a stone by then.

Doing my fruit/veg day today. Have had milk in tea and then bumped into a friend while on my walk and ending up going to hers for a coffee and she made me a latte. So a bit too much milk today. Food wise I have had a banana, an apple and some nuts. Lunch will be carrot and coriander soup, dinner will be a Thai veg curry and if I need a snack it will be pea hummus with some chopped red pepper. Lots of water and herbal teas. Hopefully I will feel good for it and it will re-ignite my motivation.

QuimReaper · 26/09/2018 16:50

Well done TV and Moomin that's great!

I'm not having an Angel Week. I had a 4-day weekend so I'm only getting 3 Golden Days in! I was good yesterday and have been today (although Peridot I had a latte mishap too), and it's frittata for dinner which is always a goodun as I can't really over-indulge on it. Will be mega Golden again tomorrow and keep my fingers crossed for a good-ish weigh in on Friday... it's all been a bit tits up for ages here, I'm hoping to really get a handle on it this Autumn. I've decided to try and make my Saturdays a bit more Golden - a few more steps and a few fewer calories - to get things moving. My Fridays seem to spiral out of control every week!

Peridot a couple of people have done the BSD here - I know Hairspray is one - and had great results, it'd be sure to get things moving. The fruit and veg day sounds interesting, how are you feeling on it?

poorpaws · 26/09/2018 21:12

Keeping on track I think. Trying to do at least 20,000 steps a day. Going to bed early as that is my trigger time for chocolate.

Sorry for those not doing so well but I’ve had over 3 months of failures so I’ve got to do my bit now.

bloopitybloop · 26/09/2018 21:17

So far so good this week - healthy eating throughout with loads of fruits and veggies / managed 16000 steps each day and have cut off caffeine.

Hoping to keep the streak going rest of the week and have a good weigh in on Saturday. I am not doing a mid week weigh in and will wait to see what the scales say Saturday morning

poorpaws · 26/09/2018 21:35

Yay Bloopity well done you. Looks like the weighin will be good. I’m not doing a mid week weighin either but it’s my weighin on Sunday. Hope the rest of the week goes well for you.

I found some half chocolate covered rice cakes in Aldi, about 83 cals I think. They are stopping me from eating too much chocolate (at the moment) cos they are a decent size and go down well with a coffee. I did have TWO today though.

Peridot1 · 26/09/2018 22:27

Crisps count as vegetables right? Hmm

Did well all day and then cooked a rubbish vegetable curry for dinner. Really bland and boring.

Was hungry after and had a packet of crisps. Not wine though so that’s good.

Feel ok Quim. I think one day is probably not enough to feel any different.

I will have a serious look at th BSD.

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 27/09/2018 06:54

Morning all. I haven't been posting because I had nothing good to say last week. A really stressful time at work meant chocolate was my only friend. Sad

This week is going much better. I haven't quite managed no sugar but I've managed to limit it to one thing after dinner and otherwise I've had a really sensible week.

I'm running again which is great for my stress levels although not great for my appetite!

I read the BSD book last year and it really kickstarted my weight loss. My boss is using it now after a diabetes diagnosis and has lost a couple of stone very quickly. I think it's great if you can do it.

I didn't ever stick to 800 cals but I did stick to 1200 for quite a while.

Peridot1 · 27/09/2018 07:57

Yes I think I’d struggle with 800 especially as I’m trying to walk 10km every day. But I’m thinking just following the recipes and supplementing with healthy snacks IF needed will be good.

Hope your stress eases Kick. Amazing how it affects everything isn’t it?

bloopitybloop · 27/09/2018 08:29

@KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse hope your stress goes down soon - I have been having a stressful year as well worh one thing after another and the last month especially jas been quite difficult - started a new job that I was very excited about but which ended up being rubbish with a toxic management team - last week I made the decision that am going to resign in a few weeks and then take a few months off and start working again in the New Year. Just making the decision has been so good for my
Mental health.

bloopitybloop · 27/09/2018 08:30

Hit enter too soon! Meant to add @KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse that I hope your stress triggers disappear soon so you can be a in a calmer state of mind!

QuimReaper · 27/09/2018 12:05

Hope things calm down soon Kick - chocolate in times of stress is always justified.

paws and bloop sounds like you're doing fantastically!

Peridot you're like me, I get really grumpy when I cook something and it doesn't come out well Grin If you were still hungry after dinner I'm sure the crisps didn't do much harm, and the veg curry was probably very low cal.

Frittata and salad for dinner last night, fasting tonight and fingers crossed for a decent weigh-in on Friday morning! I've got lots of errandy things to do today which I'm hoping will keep me busy and distracted.

ponygirlcurtis · 27/09/2018 13:30

Hello everyone - also been AWOL as September has been filled with ongoing new bathroom stress (can't even begin to imagine how stressed you must be poorpaws, I have thought of you through it all). I think the stress is the only thing stopping me from piling the weight on, cos it sure aint my careful eating.

Will try to keep up a bit more. Can't believe this month is nearly over already!

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 27/09/2018 15:31

Hello all!

I’ve had a tricky week so far, definitely not angelic, but I am back on track today. I have actually been thinking about doing the blood sugar diet, maybe just for a month or so to give me a boost. The only thing is that I’m a vegetarian, so I don’t know whether to bother investing in the book if it’s mostly meat focussed.

poorpaws · 27/09/2018 21:38

25,259 steps today and I’m knackered.

Kick hope you’re ok.

Pony really hope your bathroom is worth all the stress. Will it be finished soon? I’ve just about given up on my kitchen.

Have a good Friday and weekend everyone.

Peridot1 · 28/09/2018 08:28

Spuriouser - I have the book but haven’t really checked out recipes yet. Will have a look later and let you know if there are many vegetarian recipes. There is a BSD thread on here in the Fasting bit of the weight loss topic and I know there is a BSD forum too. I’m sure there is lots of info about doing it as a vegetarian.

I’ve been a bit rubbish with steps this week but am about to go for a walk now.

Have not felt like I had a great week as I have had a lot of bread but sneaky weigh in this morning and I’m a pound down. Happy with that and really need a good weekend as another pound will take me to 14 st 9 which was my previous lowest.

Hope new bathroom is lovely pony.

Fab stepping Paws!.

QuimReaper · 28/09/2018 12:26

pony I was a wreck when we were having renos done, I ran away to my parents' place and left husband and cats in the building site, I feel your pain! And gosh, you too paws of course - can't believe it's still rumbling on, it must be getting really exhausting. Incredible stepping though, well done! I do envy you pony that you're one of those types who gets skinny through stress, it's always the cliché but I just turn into a spotty neurotic butterball.

Spurious I am no expert but I think a lot of the BSD is about sugar avoidance, and I'm sure you're a pro at knowing what has "hidden" sugars in it. I believe that if you're not trying to reverse diabetes as such, just lose weight, then it's just the calorie count which really matters? I'm sure you'd lose a ton of weight eating 800 cals a day whatever you choose to fill those calories with! Ignore me if it really is about blood sugar though.

Well, I'm 200g up on my last weigh-in two weeks ago, meaning 1.4 kilos up in total. Fair enough really as I had a 4-day weekend. 3 Lindas to go. I CAN DO THIS. YES I CAN YES I CAN.

I think that having neglected my hooping over the summer might be why I'm looking so podgy. I never thought of it as very effective at waist toning, more a way to get a bit more activity in whilst also technically vegging at home in my pyjamas, but my waist really is looking much thicker, so maybe it does make a bit of a difference after all.

bloopitybloop · 28/09/2018 20:02

After a near perfect werk - I have ordered dinner to celebrate as I got a discretionary bonus at work. Poor DH and Dd Have been picking up the slack at home while I have been stressing at work and pulling long days. Weigh in shall be delayed to a Sunday morning

ponygirlcurtis · 29/09/2018 09:30

I typed a post out yesterday morning but it doesn't appear to have posted. Confused

Spurioser I basically said the same as Peridot - there is a BSD thread and from memory I am sure there are veggies on there. The diet itself is really just eating healthy foods - good grains, fats, protein, lots of veg - but getting a lot of bang for your buck to make sure that your 800 (ish - I usually came in at 850-950) calories are fully satisfying and filling you up. That was my experience, that I didn't feel hungry on it when I did it properly. I found the book really interesting for explaining the principles behind it.

Quim I am not usually someone for whom stress = weight loss so this is an added bonus! Bathroom is technically done but there have been so many issues - a dodgy floor that had to be relaid, a flood, multiple leaks and general poor finishing. I just want it to be done - nothing like your level of issues poorpaws, you must be so so frustrated. Sad
In nicer news though, I came home from work yesterday to find that my nice ex (DS1's dad) had cleared the majority of the huge pile of stuff left by the plumber. He's coming today for the bath and final bits. Restores my faith in humanity a bit. Smile

ponygirlcurtis · 29/09/2018 09:33

Oh and well done bloopity on the bonus! Smile

I am raging though that I logged into MFP the other day to discover that I had missed a day (and hadn't received the usual 'log in by midnight to keep your run going' message). I was nearly at 800 days on the trot. Properly gutted! Grin

bloopitybloop · 29/09/2018 16:40

@ponygirlcurtis thanks it was unexpected but well appreciated ! DD and
DH had also booked me in for a hair cut with my fav stylist so it’s been a good weekend so far!

I know next month is mad at work so we will see how it goes. Weigh in tomorrow morning !

bloopitybloop · 30/09/2018 07:11

I can’t belueve I am asking this - do we have an October thread yet?
