Following on from the ‘half a stone off in July’ thread - everyone welcome - we're hoping to lose 7lb in August (but any loss is a win!).

Any and all diets, approaches etc welcome, a place to check in, keep focused and encouraged.

Doing well all! Keep going Smile

I’m continuing the gradual decline, I’m very close to TOM which always plays with my weight a bit (through bloating/water), it’s not too bad but we’ll see how things go in a week or so.

Have discovered a new lunch Grin not that exciting but now having salad veg (mainly peppers and tomatoes), with leftover meat (mainly cooked chicken), loads of cheese, and olive oil. It is reeeeeally filling! Keeps me sated for ages.

@before1hit30 that is similar to what I have, a pot of chicken, some tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, cottage cheese, some olives sometimes with feta and a boiled egg.

Then I don't eat until about 9pm.

Well done everyone for keeping going,

I've been stuck on 10st4 for a few days in a row and got a bit discouraged. I had kind of hoped that I would only have to make minor adjustments to start losing weight, but I now see that I need to make more effort.

But the good news is that I have has two very active days and have started using a slimming world cookbook for evening meals. I was 10st when I weighed myself this morning so am feeling more encouraged.

Happinessisabook · 09/08/2018 07:58

Well done fluffiest that's a really good loss

Fluffiest · 09/08/2018 08:40

Thanks happiness, this board is a good help for inspiration /encouragement.

I totally agree with your username by the way!

Well home from my parents and feeling much more positive, DH is getting home on Sunday (3 days earlier than expected). I get my car back from the garage tomorrow and my phone screen is fixed.

My cheese/pavlova/wine fuelled weekend hasn’t done any damage as I am still loosing weight. Down from 72.5kg at the start of August to 71.6kg

Starting to feel more positive.

However I ordered some new trousers for school starting back in the 20th (I am a teacher) and they fit, but only just, a bit tight round the tummy. Which has made me feel a bit down. I am hoping the downward trend will continue and the will fit comfortably by the time school starts or at least by the time the weather cools down.

Happiness.. Those chips are history.. Let them go.. Remember that you enjoyed the holiday, the chips merely form part of a memory.

I am cross as I drank two thirds of bottle of wine and ate huge curry last night... Now feel headachey and bkeugh...

Never mind it was yummy at the time

JulianOfNorwich · 09/08/2018 09:42

eltsihT I empathise with you and your new trousers.... I've lost 21lbs since June 1. Eventually my jeans felt a little loose so I thought I'd go shopping and get some a size smaller- no such luck, same size 14 just in a different brand......
How much weight do you have to lose before you drop a dress size???

Happinessisabook · 09/08/2018 10:27

julian I think it depends more on inches rather than weight, and where you lose from.
It also doesn't help that the "same" size is vastly different in different shops. I've got clothes ranging between size 8 and 14 that are all the exact same size when you hold them next to each other!

eltsihT · 09/08/2018 10:51

You definitely loose/gain weight in different area, I knew I needed to loose weight as I had to buy a bigger bra, I always put weight on on my boobs last.

What’s frustrating about these trousers is they are the same size and make as the ones I was wearing when school broke up, I hadn’t realised how much weight I have put on round my middle too

jaxhwc · 09/08/2018 11:56

Ok so 4 days in on lchf and I've dropped from 207.4 to 203lb which is a positive start even though it's probably water weight. My calories have been high but carbs around 20. I haven't had the keto flu like I did last time, I think because I've indulged in plenty of fat and added salt to everything.

I managed to walk 5k Monday and 7k Tuesday but yesterday was very rainy so I didn't go out. If I can get to 200lb by Monday's weigh in I'll be elated! Overall feeling much more focused and energetic.

Happinessisabook · 10/08/2018 07:56

77.5kg today, so 1.1kg down since the 1st

Carolwithane · 10/08/2018 08:35

Weigh in morning......... another 1.5lbs gone. Happy with that, I mean obviously I'd like to lose 3 stone in a fortnight but you know let's be realistic!!

Continuing with 2 fast days per week, tracking on MFP and aiming for 7000 steps per day

Hope we're all wellSmile

theredjellybean · 10/08/2018 08:35

Happiness that's great... A reward of a new book?

Lexilooo · 10/08/2018 09:21

85.8kg today for me, whilst that is over 1kg since yesterday it is actually equal with my lightest in july before I was sabotaged by the time of the month and a weekend away!

Still at least it is going in the right direction now. I have got some catching to do now!

RunningOverTheSameOldGround · 10/08/2018 09:52

Hi all.

I’m not weighing in yet, as I haven’t been going very long and don’t want to disappoint myself by stepping on the scales.

Very well done on all the losses this week though StarHalo.

So, I struggled a lot with low carb this week. I know it works a treat and is a great way to lose weight, but I just can’t seem to stick to it right now Sad.

Anyway, onwards and upwards, (downwards with weight though, I hope Wink). I’m now just trying to eat less and exercise more.

So, I did some yoga last night at home and I’ve just enquired about a class for next week. I’d like to get out for another jog tonight as well or maybe a swim. I also have work tomorrow and it’s quite a physically active job, so I’m looking at it as getting money for doing exercise. Plus I’ll be too busy to stuff my face, so that’s a win win - hurrah Grin!

Happinessisabook · 10/08/2018 13:34

jellybean I just started winter of the world by Ken Follet, absolutely love his books.

lexilooo you're doing great, you'll lose the bit you gained quickly enough ❤

Happinessisabook · 10/08/2018 13:37

running I massively struggled with low carb when I tried it before, but I seem to be doing ok with it now.
For me I've found making sure I've got plenty of protein as well as fat helps, keeps me full longer.

jaxhwc · 10/08/2018 13:54

Running and happiness same here, have had very mixed experiences with it in the past because although you can indulge, the smallest mistake carb wise can ruin it all and then you have to start again. It can be so disheartening. Once you get it right though for a good week you can see such great results. I struggle with eating my 1 year olds left overs, it's completely automatic for me and I've found my mouth full before I've realised and have to go spit it out. I now also put all bread products in the freezer and take out what I need when because otherwise I feel I have to eat it before it goes off, it also takes more thought to defrost it before eating.

RunningOverTheSameOldGround · 10/08/2018 14:11

jax

That’s exactly what I’m struggling with! I have a 6mo who I’m still feeding but who is also just starting to eat family meals, as well as a very picky 3.5yo. I think throwing low carb into the mix right now is possibly too much for me. I bet loads of women manage, but I have very limited will power Grin.

jaxhwc · 10/08/2018 15:20

Omg! Running well done for trying, there's no way I could have done it whilst bfing and 6 months pp and then with a 3yo added. No way! I think you're being a bit tough on yourself, that sounds pretty hard to me. I know I felt the pressure though, looking through all the Pinterest posts of women who show you how they got their stomachs back in 8 weeks! Pah! No chance!

They say the bfing helps but in all honesty my body held on to the baby weight with vengeance until 9 months pp no matter what I tried. I think you're doing very well.

Happinessisabook · 10/08/2018 18:33

jax I'm 15w pp now, desperate to lose my belly! And thighs and bum and arms etc etc etc 😂😂😂

rabbitmat · 10/08/2018 18:39

I've struggled this week and only lost a pound. I've been socialising a lot so drinking too much and being pressured by others to eat. Also not done much exercise. Must try harder next week.

Lexilooo · 10/08/2018 18:43

@happiness I've lost what I gained just feel a bit rubbish that I have wasted time gaining back and losing it again.

Back on it now and trying hard to drink more water as it really seems to help with the weight loss.

Out for the day with DH tomorrow which could be challenging as we will certainly have lunch out and it is so difficult to find anything that isn't cake bread or pastry in cafes.

jaxhwc · 10/08/2018 19:06

Happiness I honestly don't know how you can even contemplate weight loss! I was still eating EVERYTHING at that stage lol!
