Diff aims, diff gains ...
I follow iifym with Team RH, I'm struggling a bit with my health this year so progress isn't as fast as last year but it's taught me so much about myself, my body and why I'm important, most importantly because I'm satisfied with my food I don't binge
Goals:
StarWeights section of gym
Star Size 10 clothes
Star 35lbs weight loss

I wanted to take my scales on holidayBlush but himself was quite against this. When I’m in Spain or Portugal I find a chemist I can weigh in at a few times over my holiday but I was in the US and they just don’t want to know what they weight there haha!

mammynowanauntyIRL · 19/07/2018 19:14

I was thinking about that but it's not going to be first thing naked Grin and it's just a week so I'm not going to.

Have 20g protein to hit this evening and 400 odd calories and I'm shopping with dc so think I'll haves protein bar

Laska5772 · 19/07/2018 19:26

Oh hello you lot... Wots all this then? Grin

I'm low carbing and currently on the LC Bootcamp thread
but as you know I'm also a Frugaleer .. any room for a hopefully shrinking LC-er?

11st 4.5 today ..I'd like to lose another stone for starters..(preferable before next bootcamp in October .

I was 12st 12 just after Christmas which came as a big shock (the WineGin was a lot responsible .. my loss so far not all been down to low carbing but for the last 10 weeks it has..

Laska5772 · 19/07/2018 19:35

Not2BObvious Hi there (waves) ! Smile.

As you can see i'vehad to get backon the weight loss a journey again ..HmmSad..

This will be the 3rd time I've beeded to lose this weight (5:2, BSD and now LC). and I really do want this to be the last time ! ..

Over the last few years i've found LC does work best for me , but yes it means a lifestyle change.. I think i can do it now.. have just managed a 3 week holiday in Greece without eating carbs ( but with some Wine) and only regained a couple of lbs instead of my usual 6 or 7.. also I've given up 'adapting for the situation ' now, if there's nothing LC on the menu I just dont eat . Even my DPs have got it now..

Hi laksa, we were filling the other thread so Mammy set this one up.
Still feeling like shit. Not hitting calories, macros or steps but stress levels as coming down. Still got sore throat too.

I'm going to take myself to 1500 as I've been hovering for ages. Can't ask for advice as not doing it properly -stuck in a vicious cycle.

Fuck me The dedication is scary sometimes.

Hi Laska. Not posting much of substance this week but lovely to see you back

mammynowanauntyIRL · 19/07/2018 21:12

Laska good to see you here!

I changed my mind about protein bar so bought the southern fried fish burger that lots of Rh fitness Facebook pages have been raving about in Aldi will have with protein sandwich thins at home and light mayo, plus had a little bar dd bought a pack of, takes me exactly to my calories and protein & I got 24g fibre so I'm content with that.

Bought a box of whites protein porridge for my holidays too 6 in the packet so that's a few breakfasts sorted for me.

Don't want to gain massively while I'm away so going to do my best while still enjoying my holiday.

Life sorry to hear things aren't good for you, glad stress levels are coming down, mind yourself.

I see your point about the dedication Shock

Hi Wolf hope you are well.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 19/07/2018 22:33

life I'll pm you some screenshots of a post in 1600 cal club that might be of interest to you

Not2bObvious · 20/07/2018 00:01

Oh hello laska, we spent time together 5:2’ing & bsd’ing I think? (That sounds strange haha!) I’m now going down the Team RH route which I’m pretty sure is the most sustainable for me. 5:2 & BSD just finished me off, hangry was a badddd look for me.
life I promise I’m not going Richie on you but seriously? You’re pretty low body weight, I clearly don’t know your history or your aim but aren’t you only 9’ish stone? What are you aiming for? At this point you’d be doing well to lose .5 of a pound, surely you should be reverse dieting?

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/07/2018 06:32

Not, it's fine.
Tbh I don't have an aim.
9st 3 when I got in the scales this morning at work as they are thinking of doing a chub club.

I still feel chubby tbh. I'm quite an apple shape so carry fat on my tummy. I was quite bloated last night too. So that might have been a tantrum on my part.

Not2bObvious · 20/07/2018 07:03

As I don’t know when you started or what you’ve lost life I may have the wrong end of the stick but maybe you’re at the point where you need to increase a bit in order to be able to cut back later? Do you know what I mean? I know comparing weight isn’t helpful but in anyone’s book (apart from the i only an apple a day to keep my size 6 figure) just over 9 stone isn’t big. Yes of course you can have excess fat you’re not happy with but it’d be a slow process to shift and that might need to be accepted. You’ve very hard on yourself

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/07/2018 07:43

You are right not I am hard on myself. I am feeling that way out at the minute.
I'm pondering my options.
I think, when I feel better in going to carry on with weights more. Aim for shape.

Sorry if I come across as a bit of an arse as I know lots of people would love to be in my shoes.

Cagliostro · 20/07/2018 07:51

Don't worry life it's like in the main frugal thread, we are all in a different situation financially but our overall aim is the same.

Start of last year I weighed more than two of you! Blush Now at under 16st I'm my lightest since I had DS (he's nearly 9) although I oddly feel more massive than I have ever felt before, not sure why.

DH tested our lovely new oven and it all seems to work. I am SO excited to get cooking in our new kitchen!

I will also be a bit more active this week due to aaaaaall the cleaning

mammynowanauntyIRL · 20/07/2018 08:21

Weigh in this morning shows a loss of 0.7lbs this week. Next weeks weekly average will be based on a single weigh in.

Life having seen your photos I know what you mean about your shape but I struggle to see how eating less is possible too.

Not2 I was a diet class club leader in Ireland for 5 years & Rh fitness has really opened my eyes. It was loosely based on higher protein & fibre but not to the extent we are.

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 20/07/2018 08:49

Was it unislim mammy? Yes after doing the rounds of ALL the diets, Unislim, WW, SW, 5:2, BSD - the only thing I never tried proper was the low carb although I’ve touched on it in BSD - doing Team RH has been an education!
I think doing weights would be the perfect solution life, have a look at the content on clean bulking - it may well apply to you. And lifting is fantastic for the positive endorphins, you feel like a super hero.
Well done on getting to your new lowest weight cagliostro, what have you lost in total? And have you set a goal? You should be flipping proud of youself! We need to be kinder to ourselves, we really do

Ooh have a lovely holiday mammy, nice solid loss to go away with. Not sure if you’re still in Ireland. I don’t see many Irish (vocal I mean) in team rh apart from catgetsfitandfab

mammynowanauntyIRL · 20/07/2018 09:21

Yep, it was Unislim. You're Irish too so! I love following Catgetsfitnfab firstly because she's Irish and then because I'm also about to become a single Mammy so she's me just in a few years time!

I haven't spent years doing the round of the diets really but I've been dieting since 2001 on and off.

In 2001 I followed my mothers book to do ww points system and lost 49lbs, in 2005, I went to some alternative one and was off so many things the weight fell off me because my diet was so sparse. In 2008/2009 I lost 49lbs again with ww points/propoints and had baby #1, went back after and lost 49lbs again with propoints and then became a Unislim leader and maintained my weight loss give or take about 10lbs until baby #2 in 2013.

If I stood on my head since I can't lose weight, now this has been partly blamed on my hormones, and just this week I've been told I'm not menopausal but have low hormone levels and have been prescribed the pill. I'm trying not to think about the effect it'll have on my weight because I need it to protect my bones, maybe when it rebalances my hormone levels, weight will start to move clutching at straws here
Last year I was almost 10lbs down with Team RH so I know it works for me, had flu in Jan and it really impacted my life, have maintained this year so far. Going through separation too so if I only maintain or lose a bit this year I'm ok with that once I can stay on top of my health.

Laska5772 · 20/07/2018 09:28

Aha , you are all following specific thing.. . Ill drop out of this one then and stick to the LC forums .. See you all on the Frugaleers !!
xxxxx Smile

Not2bObvious · 20/07/2018 09:43

Oh don’t feel like you have to go laska! I don’t think everyone is team RH, and it’s more general weight loss chatter rather than spec of it. Weight off the body, keeping money in the purse is the goal I think (I’m shocking at both!)
Wow mammy, you’ve done very well considering you’re going through a separation. I’m trying to support a friend going through one and it’s worse than bereavement as far as I can see. At least with death the b dead...sorry that was crass and I don’t know your circumstances apart from making the assumption it hasn’t been easy.

Laska5772 · 20/07/2018 09:47

Not2B ...its no biggie.. we are all good mates here and have been chatting for a while , I just really like the Low carb board as well.. Come and join us all for more chat on the Frugaleers!

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/07/2018 13:02

Don't feel you have to go laksa as LC had some cross over for us as we focus on protein and fibre as well as cals. Then carbs - well I do anyway.

SunnyLikeThursday · 20/07/2018 13:53

I'm not sure that trying to super-virtuous on the eating front is a good idea tbh. I tried really hard yesterday with tidying the house and eating just right and under the right number of calories. Now I'm back in bed with because the virus I had two weeks ago has come back to get me. should have carried on living on crisps

Not2bObvious · 20/07/2018 16:28

Oh crikey if crisps keep you healthy I’d best get cracking on the multipacks😉 Sorry you’re poorly Sunny - maybe you overdid the housework. Evil stuff that housework

SunnyLikeThursday · 20/07/2018 16:34

Definitely did Not2b. Clearly more crisps and less housework is the way forward.

btw is anybody else finding that they gain weight more in this hot weather? I feel as though I am not needing to eat nearly as much at the moment. Normally I need to eat a lot just to stay the same weight and just now I am definitely gaining weight from eating less than normal.
