Diff aims, diff gains ...
I follow iifym with Team RH, I'm struggling a bit with my health this year so progress isn't as fast as last year but it's taught me so much about myself, my body and why I'm important, most importantly because I'm satisfied with my food I don't binge
Goals:
StarWeights section of gym
Star Size 10 clothes
Star 35lbs weight loss

Hi all, ok if I join in too?

I did C25K at the beginning of May and was completed by July, went vegan and lost just below 7kgs, so roughly a stone and have been between 79kgs and 82kg since and as I'm only 5ft 1 still have a bit to go.
But did go from a 18 on top to 12-14 and 14-16 on bottom, so pleased with that.
So I've just really statted to run again and will run every other day.
Water is easy at work as we are not allowed anything else on the floor, but not so good at home.
Will start to use mfp again.
I know I'm not great at breakfast so I think prep for that is key.

Cag, I find map confusing at times too, especially when it come to home cooked food.

Not2bObvious · 01/01/2019 17:34

Happy New Year all! I’m a bit of a mess today so the return to plan starts tomorrow. I completely get how mfp can cause anxiety & confusion. I wonder would keeping a written food diary be an option? It would encourage conscious eating but without the calorie “chatter” iykwim. Keeping track of water intake, eat off smaller plate, increase veg/fruit, cut back on alcohol/snacks/eating between meals. Take photos every couple of weeks, maybe pick a tight item of clothes & use it to gauge losses. I’m lucky in that sense, all my clothes are tight now😂

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/01/2019 18:16

Fair enough cag, mfp doesn't work for everyone. Keep a food diary of like 345g home made shepherd pie with low fat mince type stuff. It will still be easy to see patterns as happier said. And see portion sizes.
Lots of veg and good protein.
Take the moving more later.
Trying to do too much at once is overwhelming. Also might changing your diet cause a flare up as you adjust.
And I found meds changes can play havoc too.
One thing at a time.

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/01/2019 18:17

YY to taking before photos and measurements. It's not all about the scales either.

WreckTangled · 01/01/2019 18:18

Oh yes smaller portion sizes too. I'm greedy, I'll admit it. Also if I'm craving something I'm going to tell myself I can have it tomorrow. If I still want it I'll have some but chances are I won't.

Happierwithouthim · 01/01/2019 18:31

Hoping I've not set my exercise back, was carrying ds earlier and my foot got caught & twisted and we both fell.
Saved his head but not his back as I landed on him

Oh no! Your poor little fella, you must have got an awful fright happier, thankfully you protected his head. Head bangs terrify me, hope you didn’t do any damage to your foot/ankle.
Just waiting for my dinner, very frugal half price pork loin (€3) cooked in the slow cooker, a few oven chips and some curry sauce. And a little wine, for the day that’s in it

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 01/01/2019 18:48

Ouch happier, hope you and ds are ok

Happierwithouthim · 01/01/2019 19:36

He's forgotten about now once it got a bandage so that's good & I've finally taken off my boot and ankle looks good so all well.

Bedtime soon here back to work tomorrow

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/01/2019 20:19

Oh ouchy happier.
Rest the foot, it will soon be gym time again.
Wednesday 18.15 here.
Are your still in 1600 happier?

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/01/2019 08:26

Started tracking food again today

Not2bObvious · 02/01/2019 09:41

Back at work & struggling with tiredness and general lack of enthusiasm. On my 3rd cup of coffee, had all bran & banana for breakfast so back to routine. I’m bet into my jeans, hoping it only takes a couple of weeks for this bloated look to go off me. My face looks like a doughball!

WreckTangled · 02/01/2019 13:29

Not doing great on the water front! So far today I've had:

Three cups of (black) coffee
Small bowl of homemade carrot and parsnip soup
Two small carrot sticks
A mini malteser reindeer.

Off to drink some water .... and another coffee

Happierwithouthim · 02/01/2019 14:00

I am following 1600 but not looked at the group in ages, will do though.

Heading to gym tonight and weighed this morning 164lbs compared to my average of 163.8 and 163.7 of past few weeks so I'm very happy with that.

Discovered phd smart protein bars last week, they're expensive but most like a regular chocolate bar that I've had yet. 2 for €5 in my local centra shop.

Stayed within calories yesterday and overshot my protein by a lot, fibre wasn't great.

Lidl have a protein chocolate spread and white chocolate spread for sale tomorrow, we have pancakes quite often so I might invest.

Breakfast today was a protein shake using kiwis that were past their best, last of frozen blackberries and some all bran. Want to get fibre under control once more.

Snack was a fruit scone
Lunch a turkey, cheese and relish brown sandwich
Nothing planned for dinner yet thinking maybe salmon and pasta after gym.

wreck do you not do breakfast at all?

WreckTangled · 02/01/2019 14:02

Not usually. I'm not much of a breakfast person unless it's bacon and pancakes 😋

I've made a chilli and two portions of tomato sauce. Not sure what to do for dinner yet will probably ask the dc what they'd prefer.

Not2bObvious · 02/01/2019 14:14

That’s a brilliant post Christmas weigh in happier
I’m mainlining the coffee, but feel a bit better after a 30 minute stroll at lunchtime. Only have 5,500 steps done, a way to go! I did less that 1000 steps yesterday, shameful hungover wreck I was

Happierwithouthim · 02/01/2019 14:28

I've an office job and get up very early for work so I'm slow to get up to do steps before work, will do 20 mins on treadmill before workout today so that should sort my steps.

My goal is 10000 I just find 15000 so difficult to achieve. I know my weight loss would be faster if I reached it but it's just not sustainable for me.

I'd pancakes for dinner last night! wreck

Are you enjoying the term time hours wreck

WreckTangled · 02/01/2019 14:35

Yes I am! I wasn't made for work I should be a lady of leisure so I suppose this is the best I could get Grin

Dc have chosen sausage meatballs for dinner with pasta. I don't have anything in that I can have instead of the pasta so I'll just have a small amount.

Not2bObvious · 02/01/2019 14:48

Yeah 15,000 is quite tricky, I used to hit it all the time but it killed me and I think it was too much because I couldn’t stick to my calories. I’m kinda averaging 10-12,000 a day the last few weeks and it’s easier to stick to 1700 with those numbers

Happierwithouthim · 02/01/2019 17:23

Sounds yummy wreck

Happierwithouthim · 02/01/2019 17:26

Not2 sure that defeated the whole idea, better off as you are & in control of your diet too.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 02/01/2019 17:36

I've managed just over 3,000 steps today, but I only walked to my friends and back and drank 3 blaxk coffees.
Lunch was crackers with some vegan cheese and salad.
Dinner will be shepherd's pie and veg.

My steps will be better when I go back to work.

happier hope you and ds are feeling better today

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/01/2019 18:56

I'm currently on 7777 steps so not great. On a work day I average 12 000.

Check this photo out though which I will post next. I still have 40g of been left to eat and a cuppa.
I may treat myself to 47 calories of choc ice cream for a day 1 reward.

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/01/2019 18:59

Day 1 fluke

WreckTangled · 02/01/2019 19:08

I want to eat all the chocolate. Instead I'm going to have a glass of water and do some yoga (once ds is asleep 🙄)
