Diff aims, diff gains ...
I follow iifym with Team RH, I'm struggling a bit with my health this year so progress isn't as fast as last year but it's taught me so much about myself, my body and why I'm important, most importantly because I'm satisfied with my food I don't binge
Goals:
StarWeights section of gym
Star Size 10 clothes
Star 35lbs weight loss

I’d say that’s more to do with dehydration and water retention as a result. And the salt from the crisps haha! Definitely need to keep the water levels up

SunnyLikeThursday · 20/07/2018 16:50

I am finding I'm very thirsty right enough. It's salt 'n' shake crisps without the salt that I'm eating, but also some ready salted each day too. Ds had the bug too and has developed and insatiable appetite for salt and vinegar and bacon flavour crisps. It's pretty high living as he'd never tried either before.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 20/07/2018 18:26

Laska three of us following a specific thing others not don't leave!

Not2 I don't think the stress of it has helped my weight, neither did ds who didn't sleep for first 2.5 years Hmm
I think everything will fall into place when I've my own space Grin

Not2bObvious · 21/07/2018 09:04

They do say (whoever they are!) that if you’re feeling thirsty you’re well dehydrated already. Up the aqua. I can imagine your ds thinks all his Christmases have come at once! Umm bacon crisps....
Waiting to get the energy to get up and do my daily weigh in. Been over cals the last 2 days - nothing on a binge’ey scales but mostly made up of crisps so if anyone’s holding salt it’ll be meBlush

lifelongfrugaleer · 21/07/2018 10:27

Bizarrely off plan and back to lowest every weight just for today obvs.

Not2bObvious · 21/07/2018 10:48

And how are you feeling life? Any better? There’s no magic to eating the macro split, just better for you and more filling than eating 1600-1700 of choccie bickies (yummm, biscuits) If you can eat intuitively then brilliant. I know there’s a belief protein burns through thermogenesis but I can neither prove or disprove as I can’t hit it day on day out. But I come close enough.
If I don’t end up with a mad fluctuation tomorrow I’m looking at a 1lb loss, of course I’m bloody going out tonight for food so I’ll probably have a huge spike but I’m going to try & avoid that. Just spent 20 minutes tweaked my food in Mfp. Looks like I can squeeze 2 x wines and 1 G&T in. It’s a party😉

Not2bObvious · 21/07/2018 10:55

I should have put a disclaimer that there’s no magic in my opinion - more logic though

lifelongfrugaleer · 21/07/2018 11:27

I'm feeling much better for taking the pressure off myself. Sore throat is on its way out too so feel better that way. I accept the next 6 weeks will be off add it's harder when I have the DC. Least damage will be fine for me.

SunnyLikeThursday · 21/07/2018 14:33

That's great life. Least damage is a good option I think.

I've had another quiet day. Trying so hard to battle this thing called chronic hyperventilation which is part stress and part habitual breathing trouble. I think it's the cause of all the other trouble, so I'm working hard at it. I'm bashing away at my clarinet practise to try and tame the breathing. If I get it right then I think everything else is meant to slot into place. It's hard work though. I can't even blow up a balloon and when I blow the clarinet I swear my head gets bigger.

Not2bObvious · 22/07/2018 08:02

Did my last weigh in of the week:
Last weeks average : 160.4
This weeks average : 159.6

So .8 down - would have been 1 or 1.1lb but my weights up after my night out. Anyway I’m happy with that, I’m chipping away without too much stress. Although I’m feeling a little dangerous...I’m ever so slightly hungover & I'm food fantasising like a loon

mammynowanauntyIRL · 22/07/2018 08:51

Not2obvious good result, mine was -0.7lbs I'll take it Grin
Hate that the last day for 7 day average is Sunday because fri/sat are likely to be higher carb/salt and fluctuations happen then but it's a weekly average so I guess that shouldn't matter.

Life acceptance is good, do your best when you're not on holiday and give yourself a pep talk in 6 weeks to get back at it and smash it

I probably used double my calories yesterday was up from 1.15 to 22.45, and I think you can go without sleep or food but not both.
First I'd 2 turkey sausages in a small ciabatta with bbq sauce (at home)
next 2 sausages, bacon & egg in a Waterford blaa (squishy white bap) with relish (at airport) then a protein bar(on airplane), 2 poached eggs on toasted muffin with smoked salmon & avocado, (at Frankie & bennys)
Cornetto
Can of sugar free red bull
Jerk chicken burger with sweet potato fries
Swedish chocolate cake with hot toffee sauce

Aww mammy you’re not helping my munchies at all haha! I always find the day I do on holidays I eat about 10 meals!

Not2bObvious · 22/07/2018 09:32

Go not do - I swear this autocorrect hates me

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/07/2018 10:03

Tbf mammy you want up almost 2 waking periods back to back. And stressed.

Back to to 131 today but didn't drink enough yesterday.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 22/07/2018 10:15

Sorry not2 I won't be tormenting ye with my food every day. I think I didn't do too badly really food wasn't awful

I just had white activoats protein porridge for breakfast with a mashed banana for sweetness and a crumpet for afters. I've never eat crumpets before & saw them in Sainsbury's yesterday

mammynowanauntyIRL · 22/07/2018 10:15

Life that's interesting that you'd a new low weight with all going on too

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 22/07/2018 10:47

Oh no it wasn’t too bad mammy, it just sounded delicious! I love crumpets, get them in M&S the odd time. There’s serious crumpet love on the carb loading team rh’ers!
Is your average down life after the low weight yesterday? I had one super low weight once, haha so rare, and it dragged my average down to 154.1 and that’s my new nemesis. Trying to get back there and under it. First time under 11 stone ever in my life that lowest weight was. I was 9.4 at 20 and 11.2 at 23, I knew only 11.7 - 13.7 for nearly 20 years!
Had a good enough brekkie of poached egg, rashers and 1 slice of toast....and a mcvities rocky road. I LOVE rocky road but they’re usually 400’ish cals. These are only 228. My new special treat

SunnyLikeThursday · 22/07/2018 10:49

I was just wondering - have any of you read "Wheat belly"? It's by this medic in america who is trying to figure out the obesity epidemic and has found that a lot of people get urgent food cravings after eating wheat. He finds that if people stop eating wheat then they stop feeling hungry and then their weight just goes back to normal without any need for dieting.

He noticed this because in america even the really serious triathletes have obesity problems, and he found that removing wheat from their diets solved the problem.

I also used to have epic trouble controlling my weight and had to constantly count calories and often got to about 8pm starving hungry. I had to try really hard to resist the temptation to eat anything more so as not to go over my calorie limit. After I stopped eating wheat, all that just went away, and I wasn't hungry any more, and my weight self-regulated.

My current food trouble is unrelated to that, and started because my ds had a sleep disorder and I burnt out, so giving up wheat does not mean ending up where I am now.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 22/07/2018 11:49

I've read wheat belly and put it into practice for four months, my weight didn't change Sad

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 22/07/2018 12:32

No I haven’t read that one sunny, tbh I completely avoid anything like that now after buying the 5:2 and BSD books (2 amongst many many diet/self help books) I know there are people genuinely wheat intolerant, isn’t coeliac disease related to that? But I’ve have no indication of any intolerance. My problem is I was overfed as a child and I carried it into adulthood. I love crummy crappy food & in big quantities. I’ve solved the mystery of my weight gain and slow weight loss -> too much food, too much alcohol and being very active couldn’t outrun those 2 things. Now I eat under enough food and I’m working on cutting my alcohol down to 1-2 glasses once a week as a rule. Of course there are weeks like this one where the 1-2 x 1 was 3-4 x 3 Blush but I’m hoping that’ll be the exception.
Lack of sleep is hell’ish, nothing like it for making you reach for food

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/07/2018 12:34

Nope my average is 0.1lb up from last week.

I haven't read wheat Belly but I am more hungry the more carbs I eat. Which is most likely similar theory.
More bloated too

Not2bObvious · 22/07/2018 12:44

.1 is as good as maintenance in my book (its like 45gr?)
I’m dithering about going out for lunch. I need to get 11,000 steps to hit my weeks step goal but honestly I’m so not bothered!! I’m raging I didn’t get ahead a bit better but even if I did I’d probably still feel lazy for not going for a jog or a walk. Dammit the guilt!!!

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/07/2018 13:03

Go for lunch. Get as near to 11k as you can today. Draw a line under it tonight.

SunnyLikeThursday · 22/07/2018 13:16

Gosh! Well it sounds as though you all know exactly what the thing is to do then. I wonder what I'm meant to do about me? LOL!
