Diff aims, diff gains ...
I follow iifym with Team RH, I'm struggling a bit with my health this year so progress isn't as fast as last year but it's taught me so much about myself, my body and why I'm important, most importantly because I'm satisfied with my food I don't binge
Goals:

LOL! Mammy yes it was just so nice and cool. Maybe that's what Italians do too.

CurlsandCurves · 17/07/2018 16:33

@Life yeah I can understand that, specially if it’s a big class. I do a group weights class but it’s not strictly done in time to the music, everyone does the sets at their own pace. And there’s only between 6-12 people in the class so easy for our instructor to keep an eye on everyone.

Weigh day for me and I stayed the same. Verrry pleased with this as I’ve not been the best since Friday.

Ironically, being on this thread has made me realise that I am a bit chubby, so instead of living on massive amounts of the world's narrowest diet, I am now living on smaller amounts of the same diet. Ratso. Fewer crisps for me.

Cagliostro · 17/07/2018 18:48

Are you really sunny? I remember a photo you posted of that shirt you made and you looked lovely and slim to me?

I would actually kill for some chocolate right now 😳 stress hunger. Ugh

SunnyLikeThursday · 17/07/2018 18:52

I think I kind of hit my stride with the crisps Cag and sort of gained half a stone. I've been working really hard not to lose weight for a long time, and I think I'm getting recovered enough that I don't need to try any more iykwim. It's a good thing, but worth noticing before I accidentally overshoot.

When I finished my finals at University I was like this and I was working so hard at eating so as not to lose weight, that I accidentally overshot to 13 stone without noticing. It was kind of hilarious when I finally realised as I'd been battling to stay above 9 and a half stone for ages. Losing weight is usually very easy for me, so it just means I need to eat slightly fewer packets of crisps.

SunnyLikeThursday · 17/07/2018 18:54

Having said that, I could absolutely do with something right now, and I've run out of actual potatoes because I suck at planning shopping trips so there's nothing else for me to eat. Phooey.

Does anybody else find themselves constantly thwarted by poor shopping planning?

Cagliostro · 17/07/2018 19:08

Yes definitely! I am terrible at planning.

Hoping that we can actually plan in top ups at the new house - I’d like to do one decent Tesco order per week (this is restricted anyway as we only pay for the midweek delivery saver) and then proper, organised top ups later in the week for fresh veg etc. There’s an Asda on our route home from town so there’s a balance to be found between convenience of being able to pop in whenever we want, and not being in there every day spending loads and being tempted by offers etc...

SunnyLikeThursday · 17/07/2018 19:11

Glad it's not just me. I just went to the corner shop and all the potatoes there are growing into small trees. I bought a tin of potatoes ye gads.

SunnyLikeThursday · 17/07/2018 19:46

The tinned potatoes tasted of metal so I went to the co-op which is a bit further away, and bought actual, non-sprouting potatoes.

It's great having ds bigger and more independent now. I never used to be able to do things like that. Woohoo!

I'm off plan. Feeling very low and like it's just something else to be bad at.
See you soon and good luck

Not2bObvious · 17/07/2018 22:43

Not sure what the best response would be, hope you’re feeling better soon life, you probably won’t see this but if it makes you feel any better the only part of the plan I stuck to was calories and the vast majority was in the form of chocolate! Meh, in bed now so the kitchen is closed.

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/07/2018 06:10

Thanks not. That response was great.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 18/07/2018 06:55

Life my heart goes out to you I know you've been feeling disheartened for a while. Why not pick one of the elements to hit for this week? And add another one next week and so on? Water/Steps/Protein/Fibre

I'd a completely on track day yesterday and ate this funny combo to hit my fibre Grin

Today I've only planned my breakfast and 10am snack but have defrosted chicken for dinner & will get a sandwich from Aldi for lunch I think 💭

I think a big problem with trying to lose weight, particularly if you’ve been on the “journey” for years is you can be prone to catastrophic thinking - esp of totm hormones are at play. You have a bad run & you label yourself a loser and what’s the f’ing point. V good advice from mammy just try one element. I’m going to start the day with bacon & eggs with brown toast, comforting/ok cals/good’ish for macros. You’re not on your own and if you stop now you’ll be raging. The plan works, you’re just going through a bump. Hope you woke today feeling a bit better

SunnyLikeThursday · 18/07/2018 11:30

Sorry to hear it's not going well life. Hang in there.

I'm finding this thread really encouraging and am trying much harder to broaden my diet. Thanks for all of the listening.

SunnyLikeThursday · 18/07/2018 19:01

I just worked out that comfort eating a lot of crisps is probably not the way forward. Trying to stick to more nutritious alternatives like sunflower seeds and potatoes, which are basically just crisps with the vitamins still in.

Not2bObvious · 18/07/2018 20:20

Oh I LOVE crisps sunny, things like corn crisps I have been known to eat 4-5 packs in a rowBlush I’ve managed to reel it in but still get through a couple of bags...a few times a week. Isn’t affecting my weight as I’m fitting it into my cals, well not affecting it yet!
Good day on track with food but spending, eh I think I’m a lost cause!

mammynowanauntyIRL · 19/07/2018 05:51

Went to bed last night as wanted to eat more & I was out of calories!

Hard to see what’s going on there mammy but the average is dropping so all good. V likely linked to water retention/salt/level of carbs? I’ll try link mine so you can see how it goes

Not2bObvious · 19/07/2018 12:16

Here’s mine, trying hard to shift the last bit of holiday weight

SunnyLikeThursday · 19/07/2018 13:04

Glad it's not just me Not2b. I love crisps too.

I'm being extremely well behaved here. So much nutrition going on. Yesterday I fitted in 10mg of iron, which is a bit of a record for me.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 19/07/2018 13:41

Mine's normally like yours not huge fluctuations but sure weekly average is coming down ahead of holiday week so that's something. Only one more weigh in because I'm not taking scales with me.
