Half a stone off in July? I mean it this time!

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 30/06/2018 09:53

Following on from the ‘half a stone off in June’ thread, where I lost 5lbs, I thought I’d start another one and hope to lose the full 7 this time!

I have a weekend away booked for 4th August. There may be swimwear involved - eep! So that’s a good motivator.

Would anyone like to join me?

I’m planning to do a bit of intermittent fasting (16:8) and also MFP.

I’m still feeding my 5mo, so won’t be doing anything too drastic so as not to lose milk supply.

Also will try it do some more exercise. Yoga and gardening might be my limit, though I’ve been threatening to start running too.

I am here....

theredjellybean · 30/06/2018 11:38

Ordered new scales from amazon today

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 30/06/2018 11:57

Hi redjellybean!

Yes, did you say your scales had you 4lbs heavier overnight? That really can’t be right. Or maybe water?

Ready to start in earnest tomorrow. I’m still officially on holiday till then.

Hi everyone Grin

birkenstocks4ever · 30/06/2018 12:39

Me!
Lost a stone and a half between Jan & March then had family bereavement, struggling to get back into it and haven't lost anything in 3 months (although not put any back on). Going away on 11 Aug and 12lb to lose - half a stone in July would be awesome!

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 30/06/2018 12:45

Welcome @gilbert and @birkenstock.

I’m very sorry to hear that about your family member @birkenstock Flowers.

@Rhubarb weight twins Grin

Having a low carb/no carb day today as ate carb heavy yesterday and feeling the bloat, which adds temporarily to the pounds.

I’m at 163 so a 5lb loss in June which is good. I’m aiming for 140lb (10 stone), 130lb would be great but haven’t been there in so long I have no idea what eating at that weight looks like! (Had unhealthy relationship with food at that weight so genuinely don’t know what healthy eating looks like at that weight!)

Yay for July group, thanks, this is helping!

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 30/06/2018 14:17

! Weight loss twins too! 5lbs in June.

I’m not doing well today. I have end of holiday blues, which is my excuse and I’m sticking to it Grin! 16:8 and mfp tomorrow.

Hi, can I join please? I’ve lost 3st so far this year following Slimming World but have just spent the last month gaining and losing the same few pounds so I need a good kick up the backside!

So far today I’ve had half a tin of beans on wholemeal toast, a fat free yoghurt and a fruit salad. I’ll be having steak (with the fat cut off) and salad for tea tonight and I’ll be sticking to water for the evening too. No Saturday night wine for me after scoffing a takeaway pizza last night 😭😭

I weighed myself this morning and was 11st, 1lb (2.5lb gain from last weigh in after eating like a pig all week) so I need to get to 10st 8lb by the end of the month...good luck everyone!

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 30/06/2018 14:20

Welcome kim and that’s a really impressive weight loss in a pretty short space of time. I didn’t rate SW when I tried it, but that loss is pretty great... tempted!

I mean it too! Have been messing about all year - five pounds off, five pounds on. Return to UK for a month in early August and don't want everyone telling me how well (fat) I look. So 1st July here and I weigh 10st 4.4 pounds. I want to be 9 st 12 pounds so 6.4 to go, but seven pounds will do very well.

Good Luck everyone.

Kim82 · 01/07/2018 09:12

Well yesterday was a write off. I ended up having a few beers in the sun and ate my body weight in crisps. Dammit!! I’m off out for lunch with my mum and sisters today so I’ll try and choose my food wisely and pick something low-ish calorie if I can. Any ideas of what I can make for dinner that is dairy free (child with allergy) and doesn’t take long to make as it’s too bloody hot to cook?

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 01/07/2018 11:17

Welcome Five! Oh yes, I really enjoyed it when someone told me how healthy I looked a few years ago, pre dc Hmm. I’d gained about two stone living in Paris Blush.

kim, I try to eat mainly plant based at the moment, so not much meat or dairy etc. I’m planning either an avocado salad or maybe an Asian broth / rice noodle soup thing with veg and coconut milk this evening.

Weight loss twins! Grin @Rhubarb

I did well yesterday and a good start today also. I think a real issue for me is lazy dinner, which is usually takeaway Blush when there’s a lot going on, and we end up not having food in the fridge or it’s something complicated to cook, we end up ordering.

Our groceries this week are all easy to cook (pasta, stir fry etc) and my first week in a while where I’m not travelling and DH doesn’t have medical appointments so I’m hoping to regain some calm and with that control! It’s also better financially to not have so much takeaway.

I really want to break into the 150s this month. I was 150lb 18 months ago when DCs were smaller but moved into a new job and a lot of other stuff happened, and in the whirlwind just ate for energy/quick food and was snacking was too much as I wasn’t sleeping properly, stressed etc which took me up to 170lb Shock really want to get back down, eventually to 140lb at least, 130s if I can.

My overall goal is to be at 140 by next spring, but by end of this year ideally.

Started today with eggs, tomato, spring onion and some sourdough toast, with olive oil (brunch). Making duck later, not sure what with but probably a ton of veg.

beforeihit30 · 01/07/2018 12:53

Also for anyone new I mainly focus on calories, there are other things I do for my personal healthy feeling/feeling good - I eat full fat products, try to have plenty veg as I like it, avoid very sugary/sweetener things I keep that occasional (eg nice cake).

theredjellybean · 01/07/2018 13:30

I had a bad day yesterday as went out for dinner but did avoid drinking... I am having nine weeks no alcohol... Leading up to big family holiday...
So far done six days no wine... God its hard.
Today I weighed 159.6 lbs on my dodgy scales.
Went for 6.5km run and haven't eaten yet.. Three coffees no milk and lots of water. Nit hungry.. Running kills my appetite for few hours.
Bbq planned later... Homemade burgers, and lots of salad for me.. And NO WINE.. :(

theredjellybean · 01/07/2018 13:33

Beforeihit... I do same, restrict calories, eat good quality protein, fats and lots of veg. Cake or similar when I really want some.

I want to be 150lbs... But since hitting menopause a yr ago find it harder to keep losses of long term and fat settles round middle.. I had a curvy size 12 and dressed to suit it... Quite a vintage 1950 type look.. Now need corsetry to get a waist.. But big news starting hrt in two weeks... I will report in if it seems to help with waist and weight... Fingers x

SunshineAllTheWhile · 01/07/2018 14:15

Can I join please? Have lost almost 4 stone in last year since having DC2 but have a bit to go... my goal was to be 9 stone 13 by my birthday (28th July) but I’m currently 10 stone 8 Blush

So today I have readjusted my target to lose 5-7lb in next 28 days...

I run 2 times a week but am going to up to 3/4 and i do Zumba 2/3 times. I do MFP and try to stick to 1200-1400. I just finished breastfeeding now so adjusting to new normal of no extra calories Angry

I really REALLY struggle with sunny days - I see a crack of sun and out comes the BBQ and bottles of fizz/wine/beer/rum. Which is why I’m so behind target!!

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 01/07/2018 17:15

Welcome sunshine! That’s another very impressive weight loss to date!

So, today has been so so for me. I’ve just done a healthy meal plan for the week and ordered the ingredients to come tomorrow. Felt very smug at the proportion of fruit and veg in my online basket Grin. The less said about the ice lollies the better though...

We ended up having breakfast out today, so I had hummus, flat bread, spinach, mushroom and tomato, then had a sandwich for lunch. Just having some fruit and then I’ve decided it’s too hot to cook, so I’m now making a chilled avocado and cucumber soup, (it’s a bit of an experiment), for my evening meal tonight! Will let you know how it goes. Dh looks quite dubious...

Hi can I have a go too?! My target date is end of September and I'm feeling motivated to stay on track and get half a stone off. Then do it again 2 more times! I've lost nearly 2.5st but it's taken a loooong time and I'm done with telling myself 'I'll be slimmer in a few months' then not being where I want to be.

Thesearepearls · 01/07/2018 19:05

Please may I join?

I'm currently 12 stone flat. According to BMI this is a healthy weight for my height but the rolls of fat around the tum are saying it ain't so. I did d manage to lose 9lbs in June through exercise and rigorous dieting and I'd love to lose 7 lbs in July.

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 01/07/2018 19:16

Welcome pearls and silver! Oh pearls and silver - jewellery theme!

I’m so impressed (and shamed, in equal measure) by all the weight losses to date. Really need to stick with it this time.

I've a wedding in 3 weeks I'm desp to rid some pounds for!

WhenDoISleep · 01/07/2018 19:21

I'm in. Didn't lose anything in June, so I have now plateaued for two months. Another 7lbs off before the DC start their summer holiday would be great.

Pebblespony · 01/07/2018 19:27

Yeah, go on, I'm in. I'm 12 stone nothing and I'd like to lose a bit of the baby weight before I'm back to the office at the beginning of August. I'm going to count ww points but not going to the meetings (no babysitter).
