Half a stone off in July? I mean it this time!

Following on from the ‘half a stone off in June’ thread, where I lost 5lbs, I thought I’d start another one and hope to lose the full 7 this time!

I have a weekend away booked for 4th August. There may be swimwear involved - eep! So that’s a good motivator.

Would anyone like to join me?

I’m planning to do a bit of intermittent fasting (16:8) and also MFP.

I’m still feeding my 5mo, so won’t be doing anything too drastic so as not to lose milk supply.

Also will try it do some more exercise. Yoga and gardening might be my limit, though I’ve been threatening to start running too.

Bloody Paris! I got so chubs living there. Glad to hear it’s entirely Paris’s fault and not mine Grin.

Mini wraps is definitely a good first step fudge! Lean beef, veg and not too much bread sounds pretty healthy to me.

You too sunshine? I’m sure it’s the heat. Could it be water retention due to hot weather? It does seem weird we’ve all gained weight in the past few days 🤷‍♀️.

Hi, can I join you? I’ve lost 3 stone since last November but have been stuck with 12-14lb to lose for a while now. Had been losing 1-2 pounds a week but just seems to not be budging!
7lbs off this month would be great and if anyone has any tips for how to get over a plateau, I’d love some advice!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 02/07/2018 14:08

Can I join in? I’ve lost 2 stone this year going the BSD and running, but the last few weeks/Months I’ve struggled and have been losing and gaining the same 5 lbs (losing it during the week, regaining it at the weekends!)

I run a fair bit now and I think my body has been rebelling a bit as my body fat has dropped so much, I wasn’t fuelling my runs properly. I’ve devised myself a higher protein meal plan for your next 2 weeks (well, 18 days til my birthday!) and am determined to have a really good attempt at keeping the carbs low. I am 10.8 this morning, I’d love to be 10st by the time I go away, first week of August. My target weight is 10 (well, 9.13 and 3/4!!) - I’m so close but it’s just taking its time now!

Yes, welcome both Smile!

I'm in - was wedding anniversary yesterday and I pigged out. Need to lose a stone but I too have a wedding to go to in 3 weeks so paceyswife, let's do it together.

3DSpex · 02/07/2018 16:30

Had a good start today.

Skipped breakfast and just had water and coffee, as slept so poorly in the heat last night I had no appetite.
Prawns abd salad for kunch, followed by some mango. Was light but filling. Havent thought about food since.

Going for a swim soon while DD is at her class, then going to have an egg salad for dinner. Am i allowed a glass (or 3) of prossecco, though? Arghhhh. Got friend coming around later with a bottle. We’d ustally polish it off between us...

TQBD · 02/07/2018 16:36

Me please!! I’ve been loosing and gaining the same 3lb forever.

I’m 9st 11 and would like to get to 9st and review, so 7lb off would be a good boost!

I’m not really sure how I’m going to tackle it other than healthier choices and more water. Failed at the water hurdle today!

Breakfast was fat free skyr yoghurt with a nectarine and spoon of honey
Lunch - salad leaves, tomato and cucumber with chicken and a brown mini wrap
Melon chunks
Dinner - pork and veg with noodles
Snacks - I had a slice of brown toast and a packet of crisps.

Snacking is my downfall.. Cake

Signing in, July is the month of change !

Weighed in at the gym today on the boditrax machine (do not have scales at home) so starting at 10 stone 4. Going to weigh each Monday. In good news, I am same weight as I was in May which is last time I checked so stable but not losing!!!!

Snacking is my downfall too (and bread) so doing ruthlessly honest MFP to track.

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 02/07/2018 16:52

Sounds like everyone is doing well today!

So, I had ‘breakfast’ at 1pm: the infamous cucumber and avocado soup, which actually turned out to be delicious! To me anyway. So I ate loads of it Blush, plus hummus and pitta, some spinach & potato tortilla / omelette thing, (not terribly vegan of course, but maybe still plant based...? I’m sure it was more veg than egg than apple iyswim).

I think tonight will be jacket potato or maybe homemade wedges in the air fryer, with hummus & crudités, though not totally decided.

Hello all - I really need to lose some weight and to have you lot to
be accountable to! Can I join?

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 02/07/2018 18:05

Need to shift maybe 1-2stone ideally but half a stone in July would be ideal! Need workout motivation and the will power to not snack at work! Work with mainly women, on our feet all day (nhs work) and someone always brings in something sweet to eat D:

pontiouspilates · 02/07/2018 18:55

Thanks Rhubarb, I'll start tracking tomorrow so that I dont have to log the scone and butter I had this afternoon

thenewaveragebear1983 · 02/07/2018 18:59

This is my food today, plus I have allowed for 2 eggs which I haven’t had yet- will probably have those this evening. I’m really trying to up my protein and drop my carbs, which i have done successfully today. I have done 17k steps and run 5km this morning.

Hope everyone’s had a great day!

Kim82 · 02/07/2018 20:21

Evening everyone. Right, bosses retirement do is now over and done with. Now to get myself back on track, I’ve no more plans to get in my way so from tomorrow onwards I’ll be 100% on true dieting form. I will get my 3.5 stone award by the end of July!

MozzchopsThirty · 02/07/2018 21:14

I've had a really good first day

Can you do 16:8 on some days?? Problem is I love my breakfast, it's my fave meal of the day and I have salmon & poached egg on toast every single day lol

If I could do 16:8 3 or 4 days a week that would suit me

Went to the gym and felt fat but worked hard

Good luck all

juneavrile · 02/07/2018 21:46

Has anyone here with less than 3 stone to lose, ever lost half a stone in a month? I think 6lbs was my highest, when signed up to ww at about one and a half stone 'overweight'.

I'm still going for it. Just really interested in what's possible.

MozzchopsThirty · 02/07/2018 21:52

I lost 7lbs in 5 days on the chemical diet but it was hideous
I wouldn't recommend

pontiouspilates · 02/07/2018 21:54

Good question juneavrile. I need to shift a stone and find that the weight comes off
slowly. Friends who want to lose 3-4 stone seem to be the ones with the big weekly loses. Having said that, I'd be delighted to be even 5lbs lighter at the end of the month.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 02/07/2018 21:55

Juneavrile have you tried the blood sugar diet? You can easily lose half a stone in a month- it’s high fat/low carb, sugar free. Sounds hard but after the initial few days it gets easier.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 02/07/2018 21:56

Here’s our thread, pop in and say hello!

beforeihit30 · 02/07/2018 22:27

Good day today I think. Breakfast was berries, yoghurt (full fat) and grape nuts (pretty much what I have every week day breakfast!), margherita pizza, prosciutto and orange juice for lunch, and duck breast with a ton of veg for dinner. Also two cups of ice tea. Just under 1350 calories so under my target for the day but plenty full and happy with that.

But it’s only one day so have to keep it up! Grin

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 03/07/2018 07:46

Hi juneavril

Yes, I have lost half a stone in less than a month a few times in my life. I probably started keeping an eye on my weight when I was about 16 - 17. I’d gained a lot when I was 15 and then lost it before I hit 17. I don’t think I’ve ever been 3 stone overweight before. Think my rock bottom / top, (depending on how you look at it), was 2 and a half stone overweight as a teenager. I blame gcse stress, boys not fancying me stress and discovering alcohol, always mixed with sugary drinks Blush! But, I digress.

I have lost half a stone in about a week doing very low carb, high fat. My brother lost a stone in two weeks doing it too! I don’t like it and try not to eat too much meat or dairy these days, so I wouldn’t do it now, but it definitely works.

I’ve easily lost half a stone in a few weeks, by just calorie counting as well. Last month I lost 6lbs and then gained one back, so 5lbs overall, but I wasn’t being especially dedicated. I am not overweight (high end of normal bmi). So I definitely find it’s possible to lose this much in a month, even when not overweight. Of course I do, or I wouldn’t have started the thread Smile!

Morning everyone, managed a day below cals and 14k steps yday so feeling positive.

I need to work on eating better food rather than skipping meals to compensate naughty food which is my general approach lately. Hoping the market man is there today so I can totally load up on fruit as so much cheaper.

Also going to do a month of dinner at lunch time and snack at dinner time so I'm not going to bed full (eat late and go to bed early unless working)

I've bought the blood sugar diet book but haven't got round to reading it yet, there's also a 10 day diet menu online somewhere that I've done twice before with good results but it's not a long term thing for me as far too lc for me! Good to do pre holiday though!
