Half a stone off in July? I mean it this time!

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 30/06/2018 09:53

Following on from the ‘half a stone off in June’ thread, where I lost 5lbs, I thought I’d start another one and hope to lose the full 7 this time!

I have a weekend away booked for 4th August. There may be swimwear involved - eep! So that’s a good motivator.

Would anyone like to join me?

I’m planning to do a bit of intermittent fasting (16:8) and also MFP.

I’m still feeding my 5mo, so won’t be doing anything too drastic so as not to lose milk supply.

Also will try it do some more exercise. Yoga and gardening might be my limit, though I’ve been threatening to start running too.

Tell me more about cauliflower fajitas, Rhubarb. Loooove cauliflower.

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 04/07/2018 18:23

Not at all low carb, but I’m making this recipe.

Urgh I've had a hideous night & day

I got so drunk at the football, hungover this morning, had a good breakfast but didn't take lunch so bought a subway salad with shit loads of sauce on

Then about 5 biscuits

And now I'm on the wine

Tomorrow's another day I guess 💁🏼‍♀️

SilverLiningSomewhere · 04/07/2018 19:39

I've had a shit 2 days with a very poorly dd. No sleep and constant crying has had me reaching for choc and biscuits.

I've got work tomorrow night and feel so guilty but I can't wait to have a break!

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 04/07/2018 19:44

Ah that’s rough @silver. Hope your dd is on the mend soon Flowers.

Her temp is 40.3Sad I think it's teething but she's already cut them all so god knows!

Luckily there isn't much choc in the house left!

Happinessisabook · 04/07/2018 21:05

Not done too bad today
1 slice of 5050 toast with 2 scrambled eggs and a brew for breakfast (probably far too much butter on the toast though!), pasta with homemade chicken and chorizo sauce for lunch, then slow cooker ribs with salad for dinner.
OH wanted McDonalds but i resistedSmile
Drank about 2l water too

dancemom · 04/07/2018 21:10

Can i join?
I lost 4 stone with SW but have put on half a stone over the last 6 months.
I'm back on the SW plan and determined to lose, preferably in 2 weeks as I go on holiday then.
Ate well yesterday, had oats for breakfast, omelette for lunch and a stir fry for dinner. Lots of fruit too.
Today I had oats again, chicken salad for lunch and pork steaks and veg for dinner.
Fingers crossed I can stick to plan!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 04/07/2018 21:40

I’ve done well today- 960 cals, 40g carbs, 16k steps (5.5km run). Tomorrow’s food all planned and calorie counted. Feeling really positive.

beforeihit30 · 05/07/2018 08:17

Oh @silver hope she’s feeling better soon.

Has anyone tried a keto diet? I think there’s a group on here somewhere. DH has started talking about it (shock to me as he never talks about trying diets!) but he’s been watching a few things about it as we both have autoimmune conditions and he’s seen a fair bit from people who say that it’s helped, so we might give it a go and see what happens.

Smarshian · 05/07/2018 09:27

Going food shopping today - any suggestions for great healthy meals that my 18 month old will also eat (don't want to cook her something separate if I can help it). She is a pretty good eater but nothing spicy or too creamy.

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 05/07/2018 09:30

@beforeihit30

I’ve done LCHF, which is meant to put you into ketosis. It really works for weight loss. Don’t know about effect on autoimmune conditions.

Have you looked at the Diet Doctor website though? It’s really useful.

@silver

How is your dd now? That sounds like a very high temp! Poor thing. Hope she’s ok?

Here is a picture of the cauliflower fajitas with an alcohol free pimms (from a recipe using balsamic vibegar which my friend gave me - it’s actually a really good substitute. Sounds gross, but actually very nice).

Well done @happiness and @thenewaverage. Welcome @dancemom.

Weighed myself this morning, now 79.7kg. My bmi is now 29.9 so officially just overweight instead of obese now Grin.

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 05/07/2018 10:02

That’s fab @happiness!

SilverLiningSomewhere · 05/07/2018 13:41

Those fajitas look lovely!

Dd was sick during the night and is still madam grumps but the temp is going down and I'm getting lots of cuddles which is nice, even if it is boiling and I'm not getting a single thing done!

Haven't done well on the diet front though. Will have to try even harder the rest of the month to make up for it!

3DSpex · 05/07/2018 15:34

Cauli fajitas is going on my list of things to make, Rhubarb.

Hope you're DD is on the mend, Silver Flowers.

I've had an OK day so far. Yoghurt & fruit for breakfast, sushi for lunch, planning to have some seafood and salad tonight. I abstained from more cake eating in my office at work today Halo.

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 05/07/2018 15:44

Sounds good @3D*!

@silver, you have every excuse to give yourself a break on the diet front.

I’ve got mfp fatigue. Yes, it’s a thing... definitely Grin. I’m not logging calories today and am just winging it / stopping when I’m fullish.

Still plant based and trying to avoid snacks.

Today has been:

B: oats, coconut yoghurt and honey
L: leftover cauliflower fajitas
Snacks: hmmm a lot of fruit & erm... a mini twister - in my defence, I’m just so hot! It was a medicinal twister. Honest gov!

Making Thai veg curry and brown rice for Dh, dd and me later. Trying to drink loads of water too.

beforeihit30 · 05/07/2018 19:43

Thanks @Rhubarb (and the faux Pimms and fajitas sound interesting!).

Congrats @Happiness!

Good day so far, more likely to order something as I’m tired and don’t want to cook... we’ll see... if I do order it will have to be aiming for healthy, like grilled meat and salad. Brain is a bit fuzzy at the moment, a bit rundown and DH has more hospital stuff again but don’t want to become derailed!

tiffanysfanny · 05/07/2018 20:11

I am in on this. I need to lose one stone by August 10.

I started yesterday and I am glad I found this thread.

tiffanysfanny · 05/07/2018 20:13

I am going to go for as little cabs I possibly can. Veggies here I come. 💪

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 05/07/2018 20:13

Ah sorry to hear that @beforeihit30.

Yeah, I’ve decided against the curry - it’s roasting here! I’m having hummus, crudités and breadsticks. Maybe a few olives and my first Wine of the week. I just feel like it!

Well done everyone and silver I hope your dd is feeling better..
I have had a better couple of days, well better mentally, hardly eaten as lost appetite. Just got home to Cornwall from few days in London and had rack of lamb with tiny serve of couscous and big salad no dressing.
No wine now for 9 days... Scales saying 158.2.
That's good.

Gilbert82 · 06/07/2018 09:31

Weigh in day for me today, 1.75lbs down (can I round it up to 2lbs?!).
Hope everyone has a good weekend

Happinessisabook · 06/07/2018 10:06

Well done Gilbert! That's brilliant.

Hope your dd is feeling better silver
