Half a stone off in July? I mean it this time!

Following on from the ‘half a stone off in June’ thread, where I lost 5lbs, I thought I’d start another one and hope to lose the full 7 this time!

I have a weekend away booked for 4th August. There may be swimwear involved - eep! So that’s a good motivator.

Would anyone like to join me?

I’m planning to do a bit of intermittent fasting (16:8) and also MFP.

I’m still feeding my 5mo, so won’t be doing anything too drastic so as not to lose milk supply.

Also will try it do some more exercise. Yoga and gardening might be my limit, though I’ve been threatening to start running too.

Evening everyone. Another crappy day for me food wise but I’m okay with that. Tomorrow won’t be great either as it’s my boss’ retirement do - I’ll eat a healthy breakfast and lunch but dinner will be Thai takeaway with prosecco - however from Tuesday onwards I will be 100% committed. I have nothing planned for a few weeks after tomorrow so nothing to lead me astray.

I find evenings the hardest. It's difficult to not snack on crap as I'm here alone then and I find myself drawn to the biscuits!

Hi I'm joining in too
I'd love to lose 7lbs by the end of the month
Unfortunately between now and then I have Wimbledon, a graduation and a 4 day city break.

But I've been drinking almost every day for the last month
Temptation has now been removed so I'm staying off it

I'm going to exercise 5 x per week
Eat healthily using MFP at 1500 per day

Im in! But im useless at coming back to update. I will try to remember though.

I put on a summer like dress and caught sight of myself, i look bloody pregnant. Not good! And i am most definately not.

Welcome pebble and pacey! Hope I haven’t missed anyone else who’s joining.

So, the infamous cucumber soup is cancelled... or postponed. I’m going to make it later and put it in the fridge overnight. I decided it was too much faff to have ready for us in time and also, (and I can’t actually believe I’m actually using this as an excuse Grin), but you see, it wouldn’t have been properly chilled in time to eat today anyway. So I had to cancel.

I’m just grazing on various bits and pieces now. So, all in all, it has not been a great day food wise tbh, but it’s so fecking hot! It also hasn’t been a total disaster either.

I’ll also weigh in, (again), tomorrow, as I agree that Monday seems a good day for it.

Hello all. Can I join in?

I need to shift a stone, ideally, but half a stone in July would be ideal.

Currently 12 st 4 lbs (79kilos) and would like to be 11stone-ish.

I lost 10lbs in March & April, was 11st4 (in time for a family wedding) but have been eating crap and boozing since May and its all gone back on Angry.

Im going to start low carb from tomorrow for a bit, as it does work well for me and its a nice way to eat in the summer (I dont do the full on Atkins red meat, cheese & butter low carb...more lean protein and salads).

Exercise going to be hard for the next fortnight as DH is away, no childcare, full time job etc. Although might try to go for some evening walks.

Be nice to have some ‘buddies’, anyhow. Ive got such a belly at the moment...its gotta go!

Ugh tell me about it with the tummy issues. I’m also, allegedly, a healthyish weight (high end of normal bmi), but I’m not. As Shakira so wisely said, the hips, (well, tummy and hip, fat rolls in my case Blush), don’t lie Grin.

Grin pebbles, DH looks like he’s dodged a bullet. Kept saying “I would have eaten it” Grin. I’ll report that.

Plan for now is;

Stop eating now. Start 16 hour fast from now till 1pm tomorrow. Will try to avoid sugar and bad carbs tomorrow. Kind of a plant based, whole foods type thing. Stop eating at 9pm and repeat.

I’m also logging food in mfp and allowing myself the odd treat. Apart from calories, I’ll be flexible.

Rhubarb, Im also a healthy BMI. Im 5’11, too, so I think my ‘allowance’ is jigher for BMI, but I currently have a Kim Kardasian bum with (sadly) a belly that makes me look like im in the 2nd trimester Grin. Its GOTTA GO!!!

I could definitely do that a couple of times a week as I find if I don't eat breakfast then I'm less hungry.

Also why 16 hours? Is it significant?

I log my calories and weight in Fitbit and it shows me my average (so every Monday it averages out the past week’s calories per day) and I’ve noticed it’s a downwards trend so that’s good, as I thought I was getting worse but apparently not!

My weight loss however, when I look at trendweight, even though I lost 5lb in June which is good my recent weight has sort of plateaued so stricter this week (it really is my eating out/takeaway habit that is probably the worst thing for me Blush).

Can I join in too please?! I have been losing and gaining the same 4lbs since January and enough is enough.

I feel flabby and crap and my clothes feel and look too tight. Currently weigh 11st exactly and only 5’5”. Happy weight is 10st but even half a stone off would be good.

I will be following ww and weighing in every sat. I can go to a meeting for the next 3 weekends so hoping that will inspire me to actually stick to it. I’m generally good in the week and then weekends undo all my good work - I need to stop that cycle. Also need to up the exercise as hardly done any recently - been using the heat as an excuse not too Blush

16:8 is a type of intermittent fasting. You have to do it every day and some people find that they can’t lose weight doing it unless they combine it with 5:2, so also include some ‘proper’ fasts in your week too. But I’ve found 16:8 is a good way for me to reduce calorie consumption though. If I do it every day, I just end up eating less 🤷‍♀️.

Obviously, if I then go and stuff my face in the 8 hours when I’m ‘allowed’ to eat, then I can still overeat. That’s why I still log on mfp. I’m also trying to stick to three sensible meals in my 8 hours, (during the week - treats at weekends), so I’m not constantly eating.

And there must be something in the air as I’ve also gained 2lbs! How annoying, though I can’t say I didn’t see it coming... pesky holiday and those pesky, delicious holiday treats!

So far, so good today though. Hoping for a good week.

Ok i weighed myself. 12st 13lbs. Which is actually less than i thought but still a lot! Im 5ft7.

I have no plan tbh. Just know i need to eat less crap. And drink more water. We are having beef faijtas for dinner. I bought mini wraps. Thats a good first step isnt it? 😂

Yes - something in the air... weighed in this morning 4lb heavier than 3 days ago 😰 I even tried again after my erm... constitutional. So I’m now 10st... TWELVE. But today is the first day of my erm... cycle so hopefully it’s mostlt hormonal (and not Nando’s related Blush).

Feta, mint and chilli salad with monkfish for lunch...
