Hi Ladies i Have joined SW online about a month ago and i was just wondering if you could help me

Well the first thing is i am not actually THAT big but i joined SW because i wanted to shed a few pounds. When i started about a month ago i was about 10.3 stone and have dropped to 9.12 which i am pleased about but what i was wondering is Do you think it is possible for me to reach my target of 8.7 stone on the sw plan?
I do eat quite a lot most of it is free food and the past few days i have been more hungry and eating more free food but no syns so do you think it is still possible to lose weight this week?

Sorry this is so long lol appreciate any response if anyone has been a similar weight or situation
thanks

ginnypotter · 10/08/2007 18:42

hi b3cc4, yes that's the ace thing about slimming world, you will still keep losing (as long as your target weight is within a healthy weight range for your height.)
i did slimming world 3 yrs ago after having ds and am on it again now trying to shift weight from having dd. i was similar to you, started off at 10.7 and i stopped losing weight at about 8.12, that was just the lowest natural weight i was going to be without starving myself, which i was happy with. i've been doing SW for the past 5 weeks and am down to 9.10, so just under a stone to go....
also don't worry about the syns, i have 10 syns a day (at least ) and i still lose most weeks (and it's usually down to a naughty take-away if i haven't lost!)
good luck

ginnypotter · 10/08/2007 18:44

oh and can anyone help me, i'm struggling to find some low-syn breakfsts as i don't eat cereal cos i can't stand milk.
am getting fed up of using 4syns on my toast with jam every morning, cos it really restricts what i can eat for the rest of the day.

anyone got any good suggestions? i need something a bit more filling than fruit iykwim - i'm breastfeeding dd, so always ravenous first thing, and fruit just doesn't cut it!

tiredemma · 10/08/2007 18:45

I have hard boiled egg on wholemeal toast every morning.

B3cc4 · 10/08/2007 19:06

Thanks very much ginnypotter!
That really is very reassuring having someone else who has been in a similar situation to me and it has worked! So thankyou
Not to mentionbeing able to have 10 syns and still able to lose weight!

ginnypotter · 10/08/2007 19:09

i'm a vegetarian with slight vegan tendencies, so i don't eat egg... i know awakward, that's me

andyrobo237 · 11/08/2007 20:42

Right - what can I do between now and Tues 10am to lose 1.5lbs!!!! I so desp want to get my half stone award )which will have taken me 10 weeks .

I was contemplating just eating free food and having no syns - will it work? Also lots of fruit??

lunavix · 12/08/2007 10:29

ginnypotter - I do a SW breakfast thats sliced banana (I slice 2 lengthways) with 28g of honey nut mini shredded wheat on top and a tub of toffee mullerlight - meant to be a 'banoffee crunch'

It's really filling and no syns and just the one HE B

ginnypotter · 12/08/2007 13:40

lunavix - that sounds yum, but mullerlight aren't veggie, they've got gelatine in
are there any other brands of yoghurt which are free?

katylou25 · 12/08/2007 14:23

The danone activia FAT FREE yoghurts are free, and I know there are others too - just not sure which! How about beans on toast on a green day, or mushrooms on toast on either?

Am trying to get back into it at the moment, am hovering around the same point - which is 2 dress sizes smaller than I was at the start in Jan but still got 2 to go - but we've got something on every weekend at the moment, weddings birthdays and christenings! I try ot be good but its hard when theres no choice.... oh and free bars don't help either!

wizzywig · 12/08/2007 20:42

ginipotter: try tescos healthy living yogs. they are free and veggie. they are the ones that i go for

wizzywig · 12/08/2007 20:51

and andyrobo: try eating stacks and stacks of free fruit and veg. i did that (and had 2 toasts with jam and a white coffee for brekkie) for 3 days and lost 1.5lbs.

andyrobo237 · 13/08/2007 13:09

Thanks Wizzywgg - been trying - feel crap though - lost all energy! Had corn on the cob and two nectarines so far today. Will have sugar free jelly as snack later and some more fruit, and then mainly veg for tea - big plate!!

Will let you know tomorrow if I managed it - not the best time to try as it is my 'star' week - I usually gain half a lb those weeks, but seem to have lost 1lb on my scales - lets see what tomorrow brings!

riabutterflew · 13/08/2007 20:56

have gained this week. stress @ home = chocolate biscuits.

Anyone know the password?

I often have a massive fruit salad for bfast, somehow that makes it more than just fruit iyswim. I am bfeeding DS so am also starving. What about a brown rice pudding made with rice milk? Its nicer than it sounds!

Have a good week guys.

andyrobo237 · 13/08/2007 21:02

last week was salad - they tend to work for two weeks - will get the new one tomorrow! Guess it will be some other form of food!!!!

hoeggie · 14/08/2007 12:30

Hello there guys!!

Sounds like you are all doing well. sorry I don't get to post on this very much!!

I lost 1½ lbs this week so am quite chuffed as didn't completely stick to the diet!!

I was just wondering, with the healthy extras, is is possible to have half the quantity of milk allowance and half of the cheese allowance or is it bad to mix them?

Joby1970 · 14/08/2007 13:23

yes u can mix them - just make sure you measure them & don't forget what you've had!

lechuga · 14/08/2007 13:56

ooh, that's interesting about mixing HEs. can you do that with the B choices too? So say have one slice of bread from a 400g loaf and then one Ryvita or something? Instead of two slices of bread or two Ryvitas.
Am with you all on being annoyed at using two HEs at breakfast time!

You cannot mix HEs

andyrobo237 · 14/08/2007 20:28

YYYEEESSS - got my little half stone sticker - great!!! Never been so pleased to get a little sticker (well never had a SW sticker before!!). It has taken 10 weeks - expecting the next half stone to be a lot quicker - say 6 weeks!!!

Hope everyone else is ok!

GoingThroughChanges · 14/08/2007 20:31

Why do you need to mix your HE's and have half milk & half cheese?

Surely the milk allowance is more than generous, as is the cheese one. Unless you eat loads of cheese?

I've just noticed that I have eaten hardly any of my HE's this week at all!!

I've had a red week this week & had lots of scrambled/boiled egg dishes with mushrooms & tomatoes!! Hoepfully I will have something off tomorrow night!

How'd you get on andyrobo??

GoingThroughChanges · 14/08/2007 20:32

X posts!

Excellent!! Well Done you!!!

lechuga · 14/08/2007 22:34

thanks for the HE replies-thought it seemed too good to be true!

Lumos · 15/08/2007 12:29

Hi everyone didn't get to my usual class this week so not going til tomorrow. Does anyone know this weeks password?
