Right. Here we are again.

Good luck ladies, I certainly need it!!!

OP posts:

P/W this week is picnic

I had 1.5lb off this week so am happy enough.

I'm on work experience this week as part of my uni course so it was hard enough being in different places, with different people & different food. Also, one girl was a real bloody diva & felt like drinking a bottle of wine when I came home on Monday night

Anyway, onwards & upwards.

Welcome to all the new guys May the force be with you!!

Overtiredmum · 02/08/2007 19:43

Well done on the loss CW, how much have you lost in total now?

Must be hard when you're in a different environment, but you'll work it out. Can you not take your lunch/snacks with you? What work experience are you doing?

mummymills · 02/08/2007 21:30

Hi there, Have just been weighed after my first week at SW and have lost 4lbs without stopping the wine/gin and i don't feel deprived. Hope to pick up some good recipes on this site.
I have found that a good Green Day picnic lunch is potato salad made with low fat creme fraiche, pepper and spring onions and garlic.

hoeggie · 03/08/2007 14:18

Hello there guys!!

Congratulations on all of your losses!! You sound like you are doing better than me!! I have had a very bad week. Have had fish and chips, cheesecake and ben and jerrys ice cream but have been doing lots of exercise so I am hoping my weight will at least stay the same!! Can I be cheeky and ask for this weeks online password?xxxx

hoeggie · 03/08/2007 14:22

Ooooh - by the way, does anyone know how many sins are in potato farls? I am having a couple for breakfast on a green day and kidding myself that they are ok as they are potato but I am guessing they have probably got oils, etc in them?

IndigoMoon · 03/08/2007 14:43

well i just stood on the scales and it appears i have lost apound and a half!!!!!!

so fingers crossed it will be a little more by my weigh in next week :D

Charlottesweb · 03/08/2007 21:49

The p/word is picnic

What make are the potato farls? If you tell me they are Tesco or something I can look them up in my food directory for you

The work experience was stuff for telly & it ended today, but was of great benefit In the way that now I know I definitely don't want to do it So it was a good tool to help me make my mind up!!

Well done on the loss Indigomoon!!!

And everyone else

Don't worry about the chips & ben & jerry's It should be okay as long as you pull back the other days & eat plenty of fruit & vegetables

Overtiredmum · 05/08/2007 13:34

Well, I have had a good cople of days, apart from the booze last night and I had a corker of a hangover when I first got up. But I have the best hangover ever cos I am just craving fruit today so will make the most of it . Can't believe it is such a lovely day and I have had to come to work, hope you're all feeling sorry for me.....

kid · 05/08/2007 19:14

I have stopped SW for now due to my fast approaching holiday. I did manage to lose 1 lb this week which I was surprised about but pleased.
Trying not to panic too much about putting weight on during the holiday, but I should relax as I know I can lose it when I get back. I have lost a grand total of 13lb now

pobel · 06/08/2007 17:22

hi, can anyone tell me if homemade smoothies are free.. say strawberries, banana and low fat natural yoghurt with a teaspoon of splenda to sweeten a bit?? thanks.

grinningbee · 06/08/2007 18:02

Hi all,

Just done my weekly weigh in and I've lost another one and a half pounds this week. Yay! 17 down, ninety one and a half to go.

Feeling a bit glum though as my periods have gone haywire since the eating habit changed. Has anyone else had this happen or am I just weird?!!!

Are there any tips for making quark taste nicer? I find it a bit sharp.

My best discovery so far is the Ainsley Harriot couscous. It's very very nice indeed, especially in packed lunches.

Bye for now,
Grinningbee

daisyandbabybootoo · 06/08/2007 20:10

Hi there...can I ask a question about the plan when BF.

I've done SW before and have all the books so I was going to try and shift my post baby flab by doing it at home myself as I can't get out to a class as have 2DCs and a hubby who is away all week.

The book says that additional helathy extras are allowed when BF. Can anyone enlighten me as to how many etc?

And then can I join in with you ladies?

ginnypotter · 06/08/2007 20:17

depends on how old baby is/if you are exclusively breastfeeding.
IIRC you can have 2 extra HE's when baby is 0-4months, 4 extra if baby is 4-6months and exclusively breastfed. 1 extra after baby is on solids.
hope that helps and good luck with your weightloss. i've found SW great as i'm soo hungry when breastfeeding and on SW i can eat and eat and eat

ginnypotter · 06/08/2007 20:18

pobel - smoothies aren't free, even homemade ones
don't really know why..

daisyandbabybootoo · 06/08/2007 20:27

thanks ginnypotter, although I was hoping for more than 2 extra at 0-4mo

GoingThroughChanges · 06/08/2007 20:32

The smoothie isn't free because fruit, when juiced, doesn't fill you up as much as fruit solid.

If you sit down & eat a yoghurt, an apple, a pear, a handful of strawberries & some blueberries, you're going to feel full, right?

But if you blend them all down into a smoothie.. 4 mouthfuls later they're going to be all gone & chances are, you will still feel hungry

ginnypotter · 06/08/2007 21:05

daisy, i have just checked the website for you and i was wrong, sorry!

here is what it says:
if you are breast-feeding, your body requires extra energy and extra calcium to enable it to produce milk for your baby. Therefore if you are Food Optimising whilst breast-feeding we recommend you increase your daily number of Healthy Extras.

Extra Daily Allowances for breast-feeding mums
Baby?s age You can enjoy additional Healthy Extras on top of your usual 2a and 2b choices.
We recommend that one or preferably two of these additional choices are made from the milk and cheese section.
Up to 2 months 3
2 to 3 months 4
4 to 6 months if starting to wean 3
4 to 6 months if breast milk is the only source of nutrient for your baby 4
Over 6 months when weaning 1

We also recommend you enjoy the full 15 Syns a day.

hope that helps!

daisyandbabybootoo · 06/08/2007 21:53

thanks ginny.....i like the sound of 15 syns a day

I'll take a note of that for fututre reference.

riabutterflew · 06/08/2007 23:27

Hi daisyboo. Please say hi to PN for me. Life is too hectic for MN and am only halfhearted lurking on this thread trying to muster enthusiasm. Will try to dip into PN soon.

Sorry for thread-crossing!

Thanks for the password updates. I hope I'll join you all properly fairly soon - might even have an REAL incentive soon. Good luck everyone. For now I'll have to stick to alternating fruit salad with kitkats!I'm losing a little though and not gaining so I'm happy(ish). My breastfeeding routine doesn't allow time to prepare food!

IndigoMoon · 07/08/2007 10:01

i have been really good this morning and started the day with fruit and low fat fromage frais.

i am a bit al over the place with it at the moment, i think i am doing well but then some days get a bit lazy with it and have one too many healthy extras.

i think i had lost last week but feel really bloated today and yesterday so who knows?

if honest i think i could do with a gain or maintain to kick me into gear again.

twocutedarlings · 07/08/2007 18:51

Hi All,

First time posting here and really need some advice, i joined SW in Jan07 and i have lost 2 stone and i am now a nice size 14, but i still want to loss about another stone maybe 1.5 stone.

We went on our hols in june, and of course i took full advantage and ate what i wanted, all in all i was off SW for 3 weeks and i gained 5.5 pounds, which to be honest i was ok about as i had mentally allowed myself 6lb.

Anyhow since then DD1 is having an assessment done for aspergers, before our appointment with pediatrician we obviously knew that DD1 had problems but had no idea that aspergers might be the problem, so it has been a massive shock, so things at home are really stressfull, im really struggling to stick to SW, as i have so much on my mind, i just cannot focus on both infact i have not been to my group for 2 weeks. however i dont want to end up back at square one.

Have any of you guys got any idea how i can get through this and either maintain or maybe even still lose.

Joby1970 · 08/08/2007 13:30

twocutedarlings : maybe just try & only have SW stuff in your cupboards & fridge - that way whatever chioce you make should be a good one.

mandaxmx · 08/08/2007 21:32

any good ideas for my dinners at work...ones that i can prepare the night b4 and take in with me...and as there is no way to heat them up has to be able to be eat cold...oh and im not a brilliant chef either so no dodgy chefs recipes
xxx

IndigoMoon · 09/08/2007 11:02

warning gutted

i went last night, I did not weigh in the week before as we had relatives over from ireland.

that week i was bad, last week i was good.

got on the scales and half a pound!

i know its still coming off but half a pound over two weeks is rubbish. the group leader said sometimes it can catch up with you so it might be that

i am going all out this week!!!! i am aiming for two pounds this week!

that will take me to my club ten!

Overtiredmum · 09/08/2007 17:45

But you are still doing really well Indigo, that means you must have lost, what, 16lbs in total?! AND you had a naughty week so thats really good, at least you didn't put on weight, eh?
