Half a stone off in June

MuddyForestWalks · 28/05/2018 17:13

I have, sadly, gained 8lb of the 24lb I lost last summer since returning to work after mat leave. My work trousers are starting to get a bit tight Blush so I am going to lose half a stone in June.

My plan is to sort of follow the 5:2 diet - 2days a week at 800 calories, then the other 5 will be 3 meals, no snacks, no carbs until dinner time. No alcohol. No seconds on the plate. No junk. I am tall, still breastfeeding, so have a pretty high TDEE, and I reckon that should be sufficient.

Anyone else joining me?

Rows over text are horrible Thered, hope things are better today .
A stone doing nothing Makeitstop .. that’s amazing . I don’t think that has ever happened to me!
Chicken kebabs are my dirty secret Halfwit , the problem is I always order the wee extras of fried mushrooms and onion rings and a bottle of wine .. if I just ate the chicken and salad they can’t be that bad.
Rubbish night sleep last night , both my husband and my youngest have a horrible cough that seems to last all night . Hard to be sympathetic to my husband all night!
I’m going for a rare treat of a facial and a massage and to get my nails done today .
Then working 3 long days starting tomorrow which is not great for my hunger levels so I’ll have to be prepared.
Going to weigh myself tomorrow and hopefully some of this 8lb will be off .

Lexilooo · 07/06/2018 18:09

Weighed myself this yesterday morning and had gone up 0.2 of a kilo. Which was disappointing.😔

I managed to not eat until lunchtime but felt a bit rough. Had a slightly naughtier lunch than I have been but it was planned due to what I had got on at work. Did some light exercise and beat my 10000 step goal then had a fairly virtuous dinner with no wine so I had a cracking deficit.

Weighed myself this morning and not only had yesterday's increase gone I was down to 90.5kg! That is 1.5kg off this month (about 3lbs) Woop!😁😁

Have been good today and it felt pretty easy but I am off out tonight so will have a bit of a treat but hopefully won't go over my total calorie allowance 😕

MuddyForestWalks · 07/06/2018 19:04

I am madly pre menstrual. Knackered, craving sugar, grumpy. I could kill for a bottle of sauvignon blanc and a giant bag of cheese and onion kettle chips.

Sorry about the text row. That's rubbish. Hope you manage to resolve it and shake off the bad feelings soon.

I think I will weigh tomorrow but I feel super bloated so doubt it will be good

Thanks all... We kinda have.. The problem is we split our lives between Cornwall and Central London so sometimes we are apart for a week or more, as we both travel for our jobs.
Mostly its fine, we really really work hard at our communications, we haven't had the easiest journey to be together so we know how precious it is. We also had so many times in our past when we couldn't communicate or hurt each other through bad txts.
Hence it is super crap when it happens.. But I am flying up to Central London in the morning and we arw having breakfast together as a 'date'... We used to do this yrs ago when the situation was Ummmm.. Complicated. His suggestion, it's sweet and his gesture at being romantic.
So today I have had veggie soup for lunch and supper and just one glass of wine.
But like previous poster... Hormonal, having period... First in ten months... Geest

theredjellybean · 07/06/2018 21:44

Will blow the calorie budget tomorrow at breakfast!!!!

Bathsheba3 · 07/06/2018 22:00

Soup and wine? Ha ha ha !!! Love it Jellybean Grin. Hope you make-up over breakfast tomorrow.

Hope you resisted wine & kettle chips Muddy. It was exactly that combination that has got me here back on the weight loss chat thread.

Well done on weight losses already this month !

Fontella · 07/06/2018 22:23

Bit of a shit day here too if I'm honest. Very stressed with work (self employed), feeling very tired and fighting against it all day, and craving stooge and 'comfort food'.

I ended up eating leftover cold mashed potato out of the saucepan.

I'm so knackered and drained. .... all I want to do is fall into bed but I've got to stay up to pick the (student) daughter up from her part time pub job at 11.45pm.

Fontella · 07/06/2018 22:24

craving 'stodge' obviously.

Confused
FatherMackenzie · 07/06/2018 22:30

Sorry to hear about the text argument @thered. That all does sound rather “ummmmm...complicated”. I’ve had long distance relationships too and they are hard going Flowers. Hope your trip to London is nice though.

I haven’t done so brilliantly today. Ok, ok, I’ve been DREADFUL Blush. I’ve had a weird week tbh, (must be something in the air with all these shitty days), so I’m blaming that. But I’m back on the wagon tomorrow. Off to bed soon. Must remember this bloody wedding in a few weeks and trying not to look super chubs at it! We have a holiday booked for immediately afterwards too, so definitely need to get my (large) arse back in gear.

FadingSomewhereInHollywood · 07/06/2018 23:26

Sorry to hear people have been having a difficult few days Thanks it's easy for that to effect your eating - it's crazy how much emotions can be tied to food.

I've also had a few bad days this week but it's had the effect of making me not that hungry so I've managed to keep my easing under control, which is rare as I'm normally an emotional eater. Need to try and get out for a run tomorrow to let off some steam I think.

Sending positive thoughts to you al and hope the next few days are easier!

Thisimmortalcurl · 08/06/2018 07:06

2lb off , pleased with that .
Let’s see how good I can be at work over the next few days . Like I few on the thread due the dreaded on Sunday which makes my hunger levels go through the roof.

MuddyForestWalks · 08/06/2018 07:21

2lb off here too, and a bit of spotting meaning period starting today so appetite should diminish and some bloat should come off over the weekend.

It was easy to resist wine and kettle chips as I didn't have any Halo and I couldn't go to the shop as I fell asleep before 9pm putting DD to bed Blush

1.5lbs off this week for me, really happy with that and feel pretty motivated! I’ve not actually managed to stick to 1200 calories but have increased my steps and tried to get out for a walk most days. Hope everyone has a good weekend Smile

FatherMackenzie · 08/06/2018 08:39

Feeling a bit bleurgh today. Possibly due to eating sugary crap yesterday Blush. Oh well, it might make me eat a bit less!

Weigh in day is tomorrow for me. Well done on losses so farStar.

FadingSomewhereInHollywood · 08/06/2018 08:46

Woo, well done on your losses everyone!! I'm 1.5lbs down which I'm really happy with Smile

Hope everyone has a good day today!

Lexilooo · 08/06/2018 11:18

Further 0.4kg off today so that is 1.9kg in total this month. That is 4lbs!

Super happy with that! I am sure it will slow down a bit but that half stone is looking achievable.

Well done everyone else on your losses, great work especially for those feeling a bit hormonal

MuddyForestWalks · 08/06/2018 15:48

I avoided the wine and kettle chips in tesco, and had a small chicken burger and shit side salad in mcdonalds instead of a big cheeseburger and chips Halo but I did share a chocolate muffin with the children today. Whoops. Chicken salad for dinner.

Eggs florentine, half an almond croissant and two cappacunis for breakfast... Oh dear... But all made up, and dp off to New York today for two weeks, so I can be really strict now.
Weighed in tomorrow for me too, hoping today won't blow it.
Well done everyone on losses

FadingSomewhereInHollywood · 08/06/2018 19:12

Good self-control Muddy. Jellybean I'm jealous of your breakfast haha I love almond croissants...

I'm deep in revision-mode now and trying very hard to avoid stress-eating. Have managed ok today and just got back from a 6km run/walk (is it just me or is it crazy how quickly you lose running fitness???) which I found hard as it's warm here but it blew some cobwebs away and got me out the house which was very necessary.

I've pretty much stuck to 1200 all week so think I'm going to allow myself to relax a little tomorrow evening and have a curry...

FatherMackenzie · 08/06/2018 20:53

Yum @theredjellybean! That breakfast sounds lovely.

I’ve just had some eggs and salad with a glass of rose. Well, it is Friday Wine!

Coming in under ‘budget’ for calories today, so that’s good.

Weigh in tomorrow.

We have friends coming for lunch tomorrow, but I’m doing a reasonably healthy main and pudding, (couscous salad with a turkey mince and cashew thing, then vegan Eton mess).

FatherMackenzie · 08/06/2018 20:55

@fading

Sadly, I’ve never been ‘running fit’, so I couldn’t tell you how quickly I lose it! 6km in heat sounds good to me though. When I used to jog (can’t really claim it was running), 5km felt like a lot, so you’re doing great!

theredjellybean · 08/06/2018 21:32

@fading... Yes running fitness is fickle... I was running 12km three to four times a week six months ago.. Now really struggling with six km x two a week. Had back pain, physio told me drop distance and it is so hard to get it back. But I lack motivation too..

FatherMackenzie · 08/06/2018 21:45

Ah that sucks @theredjellybean. Best to take the physio’s advice though, I guess. Horrible when you get told to stop exercising Sad.

TheLastNigel · 09/06/2018 07:55

Well I had a better week,1200-1300 calories most days. I wanted to start fairly slow and ease myself back in a bit-day off today as we are going to summertime ball at Wembley-back on it tomorrow and I am going to try for less calories every day. As it's a day off I've just eaten some of dp's leftover Chinese for breakfast 🙄 (it's that sort of lack of impulse control that means I will probably never be skinny!)And I'm going to try and get back to boot camp next week too-which will hurt but needs done. I wish it didn't start at 6.20 am though!

FatherMackenzie · 09/06/2018 08:49

Argh I remember doing boot camp about 7 weeks after having dc1. The mean instructor made me do about 600 burpees Shock. I haven’t actually ventured back yet and dc1 is now 3.5 Blush. You have my admiration for doing it regularly @nigel! The people in my old class were super fit.

Body pump is my favourite and I find it a lot easier than bootcamp, but at the minute, yoga and 30ds seem to be my limit since having dc2 at the end of January (excuses, excuses Grin).

So, it’s my weigh in today and I’ve lost 3lbs. I’m very pleased with that, but I do tend to lose more at the beginning of any health kick, due to water weight. It does mean I’m back down to a healthy bmi now for the first time since having dc2 (woo)! I’m not at my fighting weight by any stretch, but it’s a start.
