Half a stone off in June

MuddyForestWalks · 28/05/2018 17:13

I have, sadly, gained 8lb of the 24lb I lost last summer since returning to work after mat leave. My work trousers are starting to get a bit tight Blush so I am going to lose half a stone in June.

My plan is to sort of follow the 5:2 diet - 2days a week at 800 calories, then the other 5 will be 3 meals, no snacks, no carbs until dinner time. No alcohol. No seconds on the plate. No junk. I am tall, still breastfeeding, so have a pretty high TDEE, and I reckon that should be sufficient.

Anyone else joining me?

Thanks, really pleased after putting on 0.5lb last week!
Hope you have a good holiday!

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 22/06/2018 09:19

0.5 lb weight gain one week -> 2 lbs loss the next week... so that means my 1 lb gain this week will magically become 4 lbs loss next week, yes Wink?

beforeihit30 · 24/06/2018 18:12

I’ve had a bumpy week, in that I’ve not been watching the food as much (but still logging the calories, for accountability). We’ve had a lot going on this week with medical treatment for DH and other bits so we’ve had more food from out (eg out at hospital or takeaway) and I’ve been quite tired in amongst it all so I’ve not been planning food as much, so if I’m making a sandwich quickly with what’s in the house it won’t be as filling but likely to be high calorie.

However, I’ve been logging it all still and thinking about what could be better, why I made certain choices (I read something once about reflecting on why you choose to overeat/eat something to the point of feeling too full, which stayed with me to think about why I eat and not just what I eat) and trying to avoid snacking (which is my downfall!) which is good.

I’ve eaten roughly at maintenance this week, so hopefully I won’t have gained (although may have 1-2lb or so particularly from eating more bloating foods).

Sorry I haven't had time to catch up on the thread, have hardly had any online time with holiday prep but I needed to come on and share this:

I've only bloody gone and DONE IT!!!!!

WOOP WOOP!!!!!

7.2lb off since 1st June!

Two really strict days left before my holiday and then I will just have to tty to avoid piling it all back on!

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 25/06/2018 10:42

Woohooooo! Well done @lexiloo StarHaloStar!

Ah @beforeihit30, hospital stays are not healthy eating friendly. Which is pretty bad when you think about it. Sorry your dh isn’t well. I hope he’s alright.

Weird turn of events here and basically we aren’t going on holiday any more. Having a little at home holiday / staycation instead. So I can be a bit more mindful of diet etc. I’m the same as I was before the wedding at the weekend, so still 5lbs down since the beginning of the month. I’m not being strict this week, but may aim to lose another lb if possible.

beforeihit30 · 25/06/2018 22:53

Fab @lexiloo! Star

Thanks @Rhubarb DH is okay, it’s a chronic illness so nothing new but does require a fair bit of management and intervention at the moment.

I was about right, 1lb extra (and quite bloated Blush) but stuck to my 1500 calories today so feeling good about that.

Lexiloo · 25/06/2018 23:15

Hi ... @lexiloo is me. I so wish I'd lost that weight. Well done to @lexilooo - sadly not me.

theredjellybean · 26/06/2018 12:14

I had a rocky week last week. Mad amount of travel for work, dd in hospital with broken arm, three social events... It all went off the rails.
I am in total 3.6lbs down since beginning of June and have a wfh week all week so hoping to lose another 1-2 lbs.
It won't be the half stone but at least I have lost a bit and will keep trying.

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 26/06/2018 12:30

Oh no @theredjellybean! I hope she’s ok?

I can’t believe we have two @lexiloo/os on the same thread. Is that just coincidence you picked the same name, or is there a famous Lexiloo who inspired you?

Not great today, but I’m “on holiday”... technically not, but sort of.

Lexiloo · 26/06/2018 12:32

I'm Lexiloo with two O's.. the other one has three I think! I was called this from my mid twenties by my husband.. and it's stuck!

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 26/06/2018 12:34

Smile I call my dd monkeymoo and my ds Lucas*woo!

*his real name isn’t actually Lucas, but if I said his real name it might out me, as it’s quite unusual.

Gilbert82 · 27/06/2018 19:38

Well done lexilooo!
I’m not having the best week food-wise but have hit my 10,000 steps every day so far

beforeihit30 · 29/06/2018 22:01

Ha well I wouldn’t have thought you could have such similar names on here, so I’ve learned something new Grin

I’m just over 5lb down this month, so good progress, will see where I get to as I roll into July. My next milestone is 160lb (currently 163lb) so when I get to 159lb there will be dancing.

149 and I may squeal Grin

139 would be shock...

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 29/06/2018 22:14

I’m going to weigh in for the last day of June tomorrow... not holding out much hope after “holiday”!

Would anyone be interested in a “lose half a stone in July” thread? Assuming there isn’t one already.

PS: beforeihit30, I think we are weight twins! Though let me weigh in tomorrow to confirm... could be a good bit heavier after I’ve eaten All The Food this week BlushCakeWine.

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 30/06/2018 09:46

Final weigh in;

11 stone, 7 lbs. That’s an ok weight for me as I’m tall so that’s good. But I’d really like to get down to 10 - 10 and a half stone if I can.

I’m starting a new thread for July, unless I spy one in the weight loss topic.

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 30/06/2018 09:47

Oh sorry, that’s a loss of 5lbs. Not bad in the circumstances.

theredjellybean · 30/06/2018 10:44

I went from 163. 0 max weight to 154.4 lowest... And everywhere in between over the month.
Today 158.9

Which is gain of four piunds since yesterday
I think I might need new scales
But have definitely lost two pounds
And clothes feel better and I have had two weeks of consistent running so feel quite pleased
I will join new thread and get new scales for it

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weight_loss_chat/3292718-Half-a-stone-off-in-July-I-mean-it-this-time

I’ve taken the liberty of posting a new thread here^^ if anyone wants to join me!

Gilbert82 · 30/06/2018 12:31

I’m not weighing today as we’re away (and I’ve eaten my body weight in rubbish since we’ve been here Blush), will join you on the July thread!

Lexilooo · 01/07/2018 08:23

waves at @lexiloo* name twins lol!

Mine isn't my name at all just a screen name.

Anyway see you all on the July thread, I will need it as I am bound to have put a load of weight on while away despite all the walking I am doing.

MFP reckons that the walking is about doubling my calorie requirement which is excellent but I can't track food accurately or weigh in so I could be in for a shock when I get home!
