Morning everyone!
Good news on the weigh in, have now lost a total of a stone! So now 9lbs 10 and just a couple of pounds above the top of a healthy BMI.
2lbs down this week, am keeping within 1200 plus exercise calories on MFP.
Managed 8 mile run yesterday evening, from struggling with a 10 minute run 8 weeks ago. I did it in the evening but still v hot.
Off for long walk on coast path today with DC and friends.
Good luck to all this week!

QuimReaper · 08/05/2018 14:25

Hi everyone!

Back from my 5 days of indulgence and delighted to see the wagon's had a spruce up, I'll need it to keep my resolve over the next 3 days!

Well done on the fab losses y'all, and congrats on the stone Nan - yo can do the stone dance now! That is so inspiring about your running, 0 to 8 miles in 8 weeks is absolutely incredible.

I am feeling jolly podgy as you'd expect, but yesterday was getting dressed for my sister's birthday and picked out an old favourite dress which I don't get to wear much as it only works in very warm weather. I realised as I was zipping it up that it used to be a "skinny dress" which only fit me at my thinnest and looked dreadful most of the time, and that now it not only fits me at my fattest, but is even rather generous at the zip, AND I wasn't even wearing my stretchy pants!

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 08/05/2018 17:31

Well that was summer everyone. Hope you enjoyed it Grin

I have eaten a load of crap this weekend. Alton towers is not a good diet day out! On the plus side I discovered all my shorts are enormous! I need to go shopping before my holiday.

Well done to all who have lost. Especially Nan Star

NanBoleyn · 09/05/2018 08:29

Thanks quim and kick. I was trying on some old clothes and feeling quite good until I made the mistake of trying on some shorts! Despite the running my thighs are stubbornly refusing to slim down...
Hope everyone has had a good start to the week!

Twixes · 09/05/2018 09:19

Wow Nan, very impressive losses!

I'm finally in the diet-zone mentality. Got my exercise bike sorted last night and did my first HIIT in years. Shameful I know but exercise has been so far down my list over the last while. My husband snacked on toast and a hot choc last night and I managed not to cave. This is a big deal for me!

At home today and it's going to be a day of coffee, miso soup, maybe another cycle and some speedy housework!

QuimReaper · 09/05/2018 10:41

I bought two possible dresses for my birthday party, and tried them on yesterday morning to make sure they look OK when I'm a bit bloated. One was a slinky body con satin Karen Millen number and the other was the blue Whistles dress I linked a couple of weeks ago; the Whistles one was really underwhelming, not very good quality and quite unflattering, but the KM one was fab, but alarmingly "body con" - I was pleasantly surprised to see it was more or less OK (although not perfect) even straight after a holiday so I decided to go for it on the assumption I'll be a tiny bit smaller by Saturday. Hoping I don't regret it on the day when there's no turning back...!

ponygirlcurtis · 09/05/2018 14:24

Quim go for the bodycon one - you will feel amazing in it and get loads of compliments. 😊

I have had lunch but feel picky. Tryi to avoid the picky-drawer...

FizzingWhizzbee · 09/05/2018 17:23

Afternoon, all. I've avoided the thread for a few days, because I've been feeling a bit shit. Lost motivation, lost momentum. I thoroughly enjoyed the sunny bank holiday (in all the bad ways), and I've put on another Linda. So was 12st 10.5 this morning. This is NOT how May was supposed to go!

DH and I had a really good chat about it this morning. I'm hoping that we can support each other to get that momentum back. I've had a good day today, so hoping I don't screw it up this evening. I've had a stressful few days too, and slipped back into old stress-eating, grief-bacon ways. I need to nip it in the bud and fast!

Hoolahoophop · 09/05/2018 23:18

Hello everyone. I'm up 3 Linda's after my binge on Thursday continued all weekend. But hey today is a new day. Ive clocked 15k steps and eaten 1500 calories. Hoping this is my return to the waggon.

Quim dress sounds great I love KM always a flattering cut.

Congratulations on the stone Nan

FizzingWhizzbee · 10/05/2018 06:55

Fist bump, HoolaSmile

Better this morning - 12st 8.7. Still loads up on where I should be, but almost 2 Lindas down on yesterday. I did have a good day yesterday, but reckon it means AF is due - I usually drop about that a few days before. I don't care why though - I just need to capitalise on it and push on now.

Quim - I love KM. I have a few hanging in my wardrobe waiting for me to be thin enough to fit them. Go for it!

Hoolahoophop · 10/05/2018 07:07

Grin I'm exactly the same with the Karen Millen stash waiting for my dieting to be sucesful.

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 10/05/2018 07:33

More sidling going on here Blush

I've developed a late night crisps and chocolate habit. The scales damage isn't too bad but I'm starting to feel flabby again. Getting back on that smart wagon again today Grin

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 10/05/2018 08:58

Decision time.

I had a sort out of my trousers drawer last night because it was overflowing. I now have a carrier bag full of size 14 jeans and work trousers.

So do I take them to the charity shop or do they go in the top of the wardrobe "just in case?"

BitOutOfPractice · 10/05/2018 09:03

Throw them kick. Just in case is the start of a slippery slope

Hello. I', 2lbs up after some family birthday celebrating at the weekend - and look, it's nearly the weekend again! I'm seriously thinking of giving up

OP posts:
IheartCaptainHolt · 10/05/2018 09:07

I agree with Boop @KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse, throw them out. It's better to not have the safety net there.

1.5lb off for me last night so happy with that. Not expecting to lose much over the next few weeks as I've just stopped breastfeeding and I'm waiting for my milk to dry up and my hormones to settle down.

On the positive side, I'm the size I wanted to be when I started so the final stone off will be a lovely bonus (when it happens).

FizzingWhizzbee · 10/05/2018 10:32

That's excellent news, Captain - well done!

Kick, when I finally drop a dress size, I'll be chucking almost everything. I'm pretty confident that once I drop the weight, it'll stay off. We're not having any more babies (neither of us can face more IVF) and I did really well maintaining when I lost it before. It was only pregnancy and small-baby exhaustion/mental health issues that meant I put it back on. Once the weight is off, and I am able to run again, I know it'll be fine. And you will be tooSmile

Hoolahoophop · 10/05/2018 10:55

Well done captain and great pep talk fizz I agree, keep all the too smalls just in case but loose the too big.

Just keep plodding on Boop it will come together again eventually, and summer socialising isn't quite as damaging as winter as the food us lighter, so long as you can avoid lovely summer drinking. Sad

I'd like to blame you lot for the recent damage to my purse, the Karen Millen talk sent me off to eBay. A new top is on the way and I'm highest bidder on a couple of dresses. Oops. But hey, worn once and a fraction of new price. Wink

lastqueenofscotland · 10/05/2018 11:11

Still not weighing but a major NSV....
My favourite work trousers fit for the first time since October

QuimReaper · 10/05/2018 11:14

Get rid of them Kick, you have to, it's symbolic! I've got rid of most of my "tubby dresses". If you only have things which fit you now, then if you lose focus you'll feel the pinch and it'll motivate you, whereas if you can just slyly retrieve your 14s you could end up spiralling.

BOOP NO GIVING UP. Just think of it as damage limitation until your calendar calms down, which is basically what you'll always need to do from now on. You need to think of the odd 2lb weekend gain, or even 5lb holiday gain, from a maintenance perspective - once you're where you want to be your weight will bounce around a bit, but it'll stay more or less stable as long as you keep focus in between holidays and high days. Forget losing whilst life is mad, just try and keep a handle on it where you can so that you can undo any damage once you've got space.

QuimReaper · 10/05/2018 11:20

Captain well done indeed, and Lastqueen that is fantastic! NSVs can be even better than SVs in my experience, you get to swan around looking and feeling fabulous in something you miss wearing, whereas with SVs you can't exactly go around with a sign round your neck saying "BROKE THE STONE BRACKET" Grin

I'm so pleased I've sent everyone off on a KM spree, and that I'm not the only one with a stash of Too Smalls...! I have a couple from before I got tubby which I can't believe ever fit me. I'm now the same weight I was back then more or less (I think) but my waist is about 2 inches bigger Confused It's a bit demoralising, but I suppose it might be age related. I guess once you gain 25lb of fat, especially when you were very small to begin with, it isn't going to ping right back into place. And I was really really slim before, so I suppose not being able to fit into size 6s isn't the world's greatest tragedy.

QuimReaper · 10/05/2018 11:23

What's super weird is that I'm pretty sure my size "on the way up" was smaller than when I saw it again on the way down, i.e. I remember this one particular dress fitting me when I felt I'd gained, and it being the only one I could really wear to special occasions for a while; but then "on the way down" I had to be much lighter than I remember being before even just to get into it. I wasn't weighing reliable so I might be remembering wrong though, and I guess I did have a gym membership, so it's possible I weighed a tiny bit in muscle.

FizzingWhizzbee · 10/05/2018 12:23

Quim – my too small stash isn’t just a couple of dresses, it is two massive blue IKEA bags, one with size 12s and one with size 10s. I can’t wait to get into the 12s – there are some awesome cropped trousers in there in funky colours that I adore and really miss. I had a sort through before they went in the attic, and ditched anything I didn’t really love, but I’ll probably do it again once I am smaller. It’ll be great to have some old favourites back in the wardrobe, but I also want to treat myself to a few nice new things as a reward.

BOOP – Noooo! Giving up is not an option. We are here to help you get back on track. It’s just a blip, it’ll pass.

Um – I am having an acronym fail. What is an NSV?

QuimReaper · 10/05/2018 12:57

Fizz oh my Too Small Stash is a huge IKEA bag too! It's just that only four a couple of them are Karen Millen numbers Blush

Twixes · 10/05/2018 15:04

Nsv = non scale victory, ie your clothes fit better Grin

I've being doing really well this week. Managed to only eat miso soup during the day yesterday and then a hearty homemade low-fat chicken curry with loads of chicken and veg.

Today I've only had cappuccino for brekkie, soup and two tiny slices of bread for lunch. Pork belly for dinner (not the healthiest) but it's back on the bike then this evening. Weigh in tomorrow and I'm feeling psyched!

Hoolahoophop · 10/05/2018 17:21

Just checked my Karen Millen stash...they are all size 8 Sad I'll never be that small again. On the plus side I do have a dress and top 'worn once' in size 12 on they way thanks to eBay madness Blush
