I need to lose three stone... My cunning plan to lose the two stone over the winter was scuppered by me putting on another one.
So does anyone fancy a healthy eating thread? Sensible and no sugar and crap?
Or does anyone have time to follow me around prising the rubbish I'm about to consume out of my mouth?
The plan is to eat really well then at the weekend have one reasonable treat. I'm going to eat carbs but small amounts early in the day and only wholegrain or brown rice.
I'm just going to start with a stone and then see how it goes.

I mean I like good weather in theory it’s just the clothes aspect and everyone else being all glam.
I got my nails done today so I might wave my hands around a lot to distract from my weight gain.

I thinks it's doable. I ate that diet from May last year for health reasons and by August I had lost 2.5 st. I ate fish, chicken, pulse and fruit/veg, plus some wholemeal carbs. I ate plenty and took at least 30 minutes walking exercise a day, though no other sort.

In my case it helped that I couldn't eat crap, but if I could shift it anybody can, as it took me long enough to get round to it.

Tortycat · 12/04/2018 22:46

Can i be a late starter? I was pleased when i weighed myself last week and realised I'm only 2kg more than pre dc. But then tried on old clothes and have gained 4 inches of back fat Confused My boss also asked me this week if I'm pregnant (youngest dc now 20 months...).

I eat healthy meals generally, but usually far too late at night (just finished a paneer curry), with unhealthy snacks as I'm so tired. Also struggling to fit exercise round the dc.

I was lucky enough to be naturally slim prior to dc, but 2 kids and turning 40 appears to have changed things. Time for first diet ever and not quite sure where to start, but cutting down processed sugary snacks and eating earlier with dc is my first plan!

millimat · 12/04/2018 22:47

I wouldn't have said I was too unfit, but we went for a walk up a hill the other day and I really struggled Blush
I also ached badly afterwards.
Getting up in the morning I have aches and pains. I'm sure it's weight related. However, that doesn't stop me picking at food I shouldn't be eating Hmm

millimat · 12/04/2018 22:49

@Mrsramsayscat have you got more details about what you ate?

SheStoodInTheStorm · 12/04/2018 23:16

I really need to join you!

I've done slimming world in the past and it worked but have tried rejoining a few times since and it's just not worked for me.

I desperately don't want another summer of me feeling uncomfortable in my clothes and not enjoying time with DD.

I've been ill so eating is all over the place. Was having what I could manage rather than what was good for me. Stopped drinking water too.

Uninsurepomegranate2 · 12/04/2018 23:21

I need to lose 2 stone
My baby is 3 months old and I put on 5 stone in pregnancy and haven’t lost it all and i feel horrible
Can't see any evidence that breastfeeding is biting 500 calories a day either ....

Uninsurepomegranate2 · 12/04/2018 23:21

Burning - not biting !

Swifey · 13/04/2018 07:42

I've been really good, only 1200 calories, and high protein, lots of fruit and veg, and I've just weighed myself and I'm up 1.5lbs since yesterday. I'm sure it's just water retention etc etc, but this is when I flag, my brain says, what's the point and I snack. I'm determined not too this time!

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 13/04/2018 07:45

I weighed myself, half a pound down from yesterday.

Great stuff.

millimat · 13/04/2018 07:47

@Swifey I know what you mean. Ive weighed myself thinking that will motivate me to carry on but when there is no weight loss I just want to grab some toast Shock
I wad thinking about what I put last night as I got into bed. I don't sleep well now and I think that is weight related too. I used to lie on my side to sleep but now I ache after a couple of hours so wake up. I'm not that big either but can't think of any other reason why. Sleeping on my back makes me snore BlushWhat positions do you sleep in for bed?

Swifey · 13/04/2018 08:00

I snore too, and I'm only a size 12/14 Blush it's very sexy! Wink
I'm sat here eating my Greek yoghurt, and trying to keep my motivation!

millimat · 13/04/2018 08:03

I'm drinking my hot water and lemon Grin

londonloves · 13/04/2018 08:20

Lowest ever post baby weight today yessssss! I just entered it into the app and it adjusts your calorie allowance down for each pound you lose, bastards! 🙄
Feeling good though. Just sharing a banana with the small one, will have an apple too as going out for brunch later. Will try and be restrained. In laws coming later so dinner will be super healthy vegan stuff.
Tomorrow night though we are going on much needed date night and we will get pissed and eat a massive pizza, so need so save some calories!

londonloves · 13/04/2018 08:21

Is there a consensus about coffee immediately after hot water and lemon? Does it negate the effect? As pp said - I neeeeeed my coffee!

PixieN · 13/04/2018 08:54

Hi - i’d love to join you all as I need more motivation. Managed to lose a stone recently (though may have put on a few extra pounds on holiday this week) with slimming world & have another 2 stone to go.

I’m walking at least 10,000 steps a day & trying to eat healthily, but find it very difficult in the evening. I ended up having 2 glasses of wine last night which led to 2 slices of buttery toast Blush

I’m doing a couple of dance aerobics classes at the gym & just downloaded the couch to 5k app. Has anyone done that? I’ve lost the most weight in the past through jogging, but I struggle to motivate myself & haven’t gone for a run in ages. I’m hoping that if I step up on the exercise, I won’t have to give up my weekly takeaway.....

winterisstillcoming · 13/04/2018 09:12

Well done everybody! Still thinking about exercise. Might do some planks and push ups today.

PP, I'd leave it half hour before you have a coffee.

Drinking my hot water and lemon this morning hoping it may counteract the effect of the eggs Blush.

Mother is sat in front of me with tea and biscuits and an empty porridge bowl.

I'm 1lb down. Water I know but I'll take it.

Have a great day!

Howlongtillbedtime · 13/04/2018 09:36

Morning all

pixie I completed couch to 5k last year and loved it . It really works and I am really cross with myself not keeping it up. However I have been to the gym last week and this and yesterday I managed to jog for most of the 5k on the treadmill which I am pleased about but I need to keep going.

I have signed up to do a 5k run in 4 weeks so I need to get better.

millimat · 13/04/2018 10:01

Eggs are good winter or are they chocolate?Grin

winterisstillcoming · 13/04/2018 10:02

I wish millimat!

millimat · 13/04/2018 10:03

I've downloaded the seven minute workout but dies anyone know how it works? Naively I thought it was only 7 minutes a day!

whereiscaroline · 13/04/2018 10:40

Another c25k graduate here - it's fab! Definitely recommend trying to find someone to run with though, it's much harder to back out of a run when someone else is holding you accountable. Going to do local ParkRun tomorrow - that will be first run for me in 2 weeks which isn't great.

Added a tablespoon of chia seeds to my overnight oats in the hope of adding some extra protein to breakfast. Sad to report that it was DISGUSTING. Felt like I was eating frog spawn and had to leave the last bit of my breakfast. Envy

Inarutneedhelp · 13/04/2018 11:47

Good morning all . I’m missing my exercise now but will get back to it Sunday night or Monday latest . Took off my fit bit as I was getting anxious . Dinner out last night , no alcohol and no dessert . Today it’s been fruit Greek yoghurt and toasted almonds so far . Away now for rest of weekend so it will be hard .
tain I am similar age to you and feel I have same problems with arms etc . We will do this !

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 13/04/2018 12:11

I also recommend running: I started on c25k about six years ago - have done a few half marathons and have another one planned for later on I the year. Great for fitness and weight loss.

londonloves · 13/04/2018 14:22

I'm really struggling with any exercise other than walking, as I've got a "mild" prolapse after four hours of pushing a monster baby out. Doesn't feel "mild" to me, wish I could still run but it's a massive no no. Don't suppose anyone has any knowledge of what exercise is ok to do with this super fun condition?!
