I need to lose three stone... My cunning plan to lose the two stone over the winter was scuppered by me putting on another one.
So does anyone fancy a healthy eating thread? Sensible and no sugar and crap?
Or does anyone have time to follow me around prising the rubbish I'm about to consume out of my mouth?
The plan is to eat really well then at the weekend have one reasonable treat. I'm going to eat carbs but small amounts early in the day and only wholegrain or brown rice.
I'm just going to start with a stone and then see how it goes.

I'm just working it meal plan for days at home, then will do another one for days at work - I reckon that's the answer for me - planning.
I am going to try the lemon thing too.

londonloves · 11/04/2018 19:24

Btw can anyone explain to me what "water weight" is that everyone talks about on weight loss threads? I don't really get it.

smeerf · 12/04/2018 04:24

I'm so up for this. Gained about 3 stone in baby weight since this time last year. Well, let's be honest, 1 stone in baby weight and 2 stone in chocolate, cake and pastry weight.

Currently my only form of exercise is breastfeeding (it burns calories, does it not?!) and pushing a pram containing a monster baby up the various hills surrounding my house. The problem is at the top of the hill is the supermarket and generally a cream cake or two...

So far I've lost around 8lb by cutting out snacks, switching to almond milk, upping the walking and recording everything in Myfitnesspal. Hoping to have lost the full 3 by my hols in Sept but 2-2.5 will do.

Betsy86 · 12/04/2018 04:34

I need to join im down to the last pair of trousers that fit me in the wardrobe. Work uniform is clingin on to me for dear life. And i still cant get going :(
Still have loads of eastet choc etc around and my cupboards have many bits n bobs in that tbg i dont want to waste i just need to think in moderation and get some self control back eat proper meals at the right times x

Londonloves - your body retains a certain amount of fluid at all times. When you eat lots of sodium (for example) you hang onto more fluid. In the first week of dieting, you generally eat a lot more unprocessed food and your sodium intake drops drastically, meaning your body stops retaining so much and as a result you lose a few pounds of fluid as well as fat. This means in the second week onwards you probably won't see such a big loss.

I’ve made the over night oats for this morning. I wasn’t planning to get to quite this early but the dog had other ideas. Meeting a friend for coffee but I will have an Americano or fruit tea. Lunch will be soup. The curry was delicious and I had a tiny amount of brown rice with it. Enough for dinner later. I hope I’ve lost a bit of a sausage.

Yesterday was the first day I haven't snacked on crap food in as long as I can remember Blush

And it's thanks to this thread, thank you tain.

Feeling motivated and ready for day 2.

Breakfast will be porridge with strawberries and sunflower seeds, soup for lunch, and some Heck sausages with loads of veg for dinner. The mixed beans were a really filling snack yesterday but I've eaten them all. So snacks today will be apple and I'll nip over to the supermarket at lunch for some more fruit.

Day 2, lets go! Good luck everyone.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 12/04/2018 07:06

Right, day one.

Cup of tea and I'm off with the dogs.
Have a bad headache so can't even face eating anything.

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 12/04/2018 07:15

Day one here too.

Just got back from an indulgent city break with DH. Feel crap.

I am too chicken to weight myself. I think I weigh about 12 and a half. Want to be 9 and a half. A stone by half term is goal number one.

I aim to achieve this by eating the following:

Breakfast - some sort of egg and veg combo
Lunch - soup
Tea - some sort of lean protein and veg/salad combo

Snacks - fruit
Treats - one a day: nuts, avocado. If I am working, a latte on expenses.

At least one hour of exercise a day, beginning with walking.

If I take as many choices away as possible, that leaves me with clear actions. If that makes sense - I won't have to make many decisions about what to eat, so I won't be able to blur the edges of what is acceptable.

I hope everyone is having a good week.

Chickenagain · 12/04/2018 07:33

Can I join too please? Three stone to lose - I'm just grim! Been in France for 4 months and love the bread 😱 wine 😍 and fromage de chevre crisps 😂

I'm leaving here Sunday & won't fit in the car 😞

Littleredboat · 12/04/2018 07:41

I’ve lost a stone and a half of the 3.5 I needed to lose and now I keep pissing about putting on and taking off the same 3 or 4 lbs, so could do with some new friends to wax lyrical about soup with.

My plan is usually no breakfast (never eat it so that’s easy for me, please don’t all tell me I should cod it’s never worked for me and I’m 40 now), soup and some protein for lunch, a normal if slightly smaller dinner and one small treat a day. I usually come in at around 1200 calories. I am on MFP if anyone wants to befriend me, I need all the accountability I can get....

londonloves · 12/04/2018 08:10

We have a tiny amount of Easter chocolate left. After that - no more til hols. And going to try no wine in May... 😭😭
Today - porridge and banana for lunch, chicken, rice and veg for lunch and spaghetti Bol (SW recipe) for dinner with kale and whatever other veg is left. I feel like I should try low carb but I go a bit mental without it...
hopefully shopping for holiday clothes will make me feel sufficiently horrendous to resist temptation this week.

Tainrainrain · 12/04/2018 08:25

Welcome everyone. Just gotta keep going. I think the key for me is to make the food I am going to have really delicious. I just found a big lindt bunny I forgot I had so I'm going to break it up for the kids and their friends.

Ah can I join too . I have been eating what I like in the hope that I will lose weight . It’s not really been working although I am happier in myself . However I need to cut back on carbs and sugar . I did weigh myself a few weeks ago and I think I was 14 st 11 lb. I exercise everyday and clock 10000 steps and have noticed I am more toned. I am going away for the weekend and I am so embarrassed as the people I am meeting last saw me 2 stone lighter . Am ashamed .
But I can’t lose that by tomorrow I guess lol .
This morning was fresh fruit , Greek yoghurt and toasted flakes almonds . I used to have granola but swapped it for the almonds .

Unfortunately due to going away now I won’t because exercising until Sunday but will try be mindful of what I eat .

Thanks OP for starting this .

tattychicken · 12/04/2018 08:45

I haven't even stepped on the scales yet to see the true number. I need a few days of being very strict to shrink my stomach before I can face it. I look pregnant my tummys so bloated. 😨

astridforty · 12/04/2018 08:47

Amazing timing for me, thanks for starting the thread.
Anyone else got a (lovely and well meaning) DH who likes to cook tea for them? He’d made lasagne, salad and garlic bread last night and I’m struggling to be grateful when I’m battling with an extra 2.5 stone.

Hoping this thread will help me get things on track!

tattychicken · 12/04/2018 08:51

Yep! DH came back with a bottle of my favourite wine last which I quickly demolished all by myself.

Howlongtillbedtime · 12/04/2018 09:01

Yes please. I appear to still have the 3 stones attached to me that I have been trying to lose for bloody ages.

My usual pattern is
Right that's it enough is enough I need to lose the lard
Wahay I can do this I am a genius I'll move more and eat less!
Lose 10 pounds ish in 3 weeks
Get really really bored with the whole thing and decide I am going to have a couple of dAys off
6 months !ater..............
Right that it enough is enough I need to lose the lard!

I have downloaded the Alan Carr book now I just need to read it and stop eating shite.

Good luck everyone.

First stone is my first goal.

londonloves · 12/04/2018 09:05

What's the Alan Carr book?

Howlongtillbedtime · 12/04/2018 09:31

It's part of his easy way series. Allen Carr The easy way for women to lose weight.

I stopped smoking with his help years ago so I am hoping this does the same for my weight.

londonloves · 12/04/2018 10:40

Thanks, I stopped smoking with his book too so I will have a look at it.

millimat · 12/04/2018 11:17

@Purplehammer I love it Grin

millimat · 12/04/2018 11:21

@winterisstillcoming I've subscribed to a very specific plan for 4 weeks. It's pretty much all fruit, veg and a bit of protein. I'm missing carbs so much -only on day 4! But hoping that this will get my eating habits back on track. Every morning starts with hot water and lemon followed by a grapefruit. Eggs and speed soup feature a lot!

Swifey · 12/04/2018 11:43

Can I join too please? Have just turned 40, and have been trying on bikinis for my holiday in 5 weeks and look like I'm still pregnant Blush My eldest is 3 next month, so no more excuses!
Today I've had Greek yoghurt (full fat) and fruit, and unfortunately a blondie (very small) and a cup of coffee. Lunch will be salad, with a handful of chickpeas and a boiled egg. Supper will be chicken breast and roasted veg with kale.
I need to lose 1 stone at least, but preferably another half after that.
I would love some arse kicking to keep me on track. I'm on mfp too if anyone wants to be my friend. Smile

winterisstillcoming · 12/04/2018 11:50

Millimat, thanks for the information.

I might have a hot water and lemon on the mornings.

I'm low carbing by default as I am fighting 'hunger' so eggs and chicken strips are featuring a lot.

The way I'm looking is that I've banked my calories on my butt and belly and now my body needs to spend it.
