I'm going to lose 2 & 1/2 stone

RolyPolyLilBatFaceGirl · 25/03/2018 22:36

By 25th June ...

I go on holiday the next day and I just refuse to be fat in 35 degree heat. I last went away two years ago and I'd never experienced this thing called 'chub rub.' I experienced it alright then! Hideous

I'll weigh in tomorrow and record it in here. I'll list my daily food and exercise sessions and I'm sure anyone reading will be positively riveted.

I'm planning on the 8 week blood sugar diet I think - it gives fast results but you're still eating real food and I just don't have it in me to do the whole shake thing right now.

I do Pilates around 3 it so times a week - mainly because it doesn't get my heart rate up and my make up stays intact. I'm working up to something that actually burns some fat. On the plus side - I can touch my toes

I'm 5 ft 4 and I'm very overweight really. I have a wardrobe filled with every size from 8 to 14 and since Christmas I've been firmly in the 14s and today I reached for my only size 16 pair of jeans and they bloody fit

I've had enough of the junk food I've been living on so day one is tomorrow and I WILL lose these couple of stones. Not aiming for skinny - I just want to feel comfortable

You're welcome to join me and we can keep each other going. And then, come June 25th, we can disappear into the ether again

Or I'll just talk to myself? Let's see

Well done Emma!

Another good day X Ray

OP posts:
RolyPolyLilBatFaceGirl · 08/04/2018 08:56

I ended on 823 calories yesterday

Greek yogurt
Almonds
Pear

Stir fry veg
Quorn

Babybel x 2
Protein bar

Decaf coffee

Scales have not budged an ounce this week and it's weigh in tomorrow. Literally not an ounce. Maybe a knock on effect of losing 10 lbs last week?

No option but to stay with it really

XRayYankee · 08/04/2018 10:46

Stick with it Roly Smile.

You'll either get a loss tomorrow, a delayed loss next week or you'll lose inches.

I'd be happy as long as the scales weren't going back up!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 08/04/2018 11:37

It’s quite common to plateau then ‘whoosh’ on BSD, probably due to the quick losses. Have you done your measurements op? I didn’t this time, but I’ve had a slow March with lots of yo-yoing about, although I look visibly slimmer and jeans which didn’t fit now do, so must be losing inches!

RolyPolyLilBatFaceGirl · 08/04/2018 13:30

Is it Bear?! A whole damn bloody week of no movement AT ALL?

SHRIEKS

My bloody legs hurt too! Mainly in bed at night, I've never had restless leg syndrome but I've a feeling it's something like that so I'll try some magnesium spray

I've had my usual yogurt breakfast and for lunch a protein bar. God knows for dinner... an Easter egg?! 😬

OP posts:
RolyPolyLilBatFaceGirl · 08/04/2018 13:31

X-ray - yes I don't need the scales increasing that's for sure! I'd be happy with a lb tomorrow

OP posts:
RolyPolyLilBatFaceGirl · 08/04/2018 13:32

Oh and I've done inches too. Few days back. 1.5 inches from chest and 1.5 inches from waist so not amazing

Roly yep, it’s like your body rebels and hangs onto the fat! Look up ‘whoosh’ phenomenon on the BSD forums and people can explain why. Basically when you first start you melt away the visceral fat very quickly, plus lose water, and that can give those very big losses. Then something happens where the cells hold water, and then finally ‘whoosh’ you lose 4lb overnight. (I failed gcse science- look up from a reputable source!!)

Keep doing what you’re doing though- it will show, I promise. There’s lots of advice for plateaus online, such as changing your day around so you have a big breakfast/small dinner, or reducing your eating window (ie. 16:8), even increasing your calories by having extra fat- can all help. I’ve been doing this years now and I think pretty much everyone on the BSD thread has experienced it at some point.

Don’t do what I do though and think ‘sod this’ and eat loads of rubbish!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 08/04/2018 13:48

I think restless legs is to do with salts? I’d definitely try to have a little bit of something salty (bovril?) to help that, restless legs syndrome is horrible. I use these soluble isotonic tablets before I run, but they are supposed to help with the whole low carb/low salt/excess water thing?

Can I join? Posted on the VLCD thread but it’s not very active at the moment. I’m 5ft 6 and weigh 11st 5 and want to get down to 10st 6 by the end of June. Using exalted shakes to give me a kick start. Good luck all!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 08/04/2018 17:11

Hi Emma, welcome. How are you finding the VLCD? We (try to) stick to 800 calories a day on here, which sounds really low but it’s actually surprising how much you can have for that.
What are exalted shakes like?

thenewaveragebear1983 · 08/04/2018 17:12

Sorry, just realised I posted that response on the wrong thread!!!! Thought it was our BSD thread! My apologies

No worries Bear - you welcome away! 😀

Ended day on 863 cals

Walnuts

Protein bar

2 cauldron sausages
Half a pack of sweet potato rice (won't have again as didn't like much but only 50 cals per half pack)
Tomatoes

1 square 99% dark chocolate

SURELY my weight has to drop soon?!

XRayYankee · 08/04/2018 20:53

Evening all.

Today:
Bacon
Poached eggs
Mushrooms

Salmon
Lots of roasted veg

Tea, coffee and water

Total calories - 829
Total carbs - 33g

Good luck to everyone weighing in tomorrow Smile.

XRayYankee · 09/04/2018 09:22

How is everyone this morning, is anyone else weighing in today?

It's a 3 pound loss for me, so a total of 8 pounds in two weeks and a total 15 pounds since the start of the year.

Six weeks to my target date and 13 pounds still to lose, so perfectly doable if I stay on track.

I'm planning to have yogurt and fruit, salad and chicken with steamed veg today.

I hope everyone has positives to report this week Smile.

RolyPolyLilBatFaceGirl · 09/04/2018 10:10

Excellent news Yankee! You just be thrilled with your loss so far

OP posts:
RolyPolyLilBatFaceGirl · 09/04/2018 10:12

I've lost 1.5lb this week. Scales haven't budged for last 6 days, despite staying firmly on plan so I'm pleased with that and glad I didn't cave

And let's face it, I can't bloody cave or I'll just have to start again and I have no time for that

Total loss is 11.5 lbs in 2 weeks

OP posts:
thenewaveragebear1983 · 09/04/2018 10:20

That’s brilliant roly and despite not losing anything last week your average is excellent. Well done!

XRayYankee · 09/04/2018 10:30

Brilliant result Roly, you can totally nail this in time for your holiday.

athingthateveryoneneeds · 09/04/2018 11:22

Calorie counting is the way tomgonfor me, it seems. Down 2lbs since last weigh in despite several over indulgences that I paid for in the days following by scaling back calories accordingly.

I've also upped my exercise recently which improves my.moods enormously.

Peanutbuttercups21 · 09/04/2018 12:18

Exercise is great for making you feel good, and forget about food!

RolyPolyLilBatFaceGirl · 09/04/2018 12:42

I detest exercise in all its forms 😂 I do however do Pilates three times a week as I like to work on flexibility and core strength without getting my heart rate up. I'm aware this defeats the object entirely

I've started the day with Greek yogurt with strawberries and almonds. Not sure about lunch yet but think it'll be portobello mushrooms with halloumi and a few pine nuts.

I'm quite pleased at 11.5 lbs in two weeks but I'm trying not to panic at how far away 10 st 13 seems. Its a whole stone and 10 lbs away which is quite a stretch for June 25th I feel. Still - I've said I'll do it so umm I'm sure I will

OP posts:
XRayYankee · 09/04/2018 19:15

I'm a bit meh about exercise too. I'd much rather go for a good walk or do some gardening.

I was trying to follow the advice about more exercise in the BSD book, but so far zilch.

Maybe when it gets warmer. I much prefer the outdoors to going to the gym.
